“It’s no use Erik…”
“It’s not gonna start”
Erik let out a muffled groan then a frustrated yelp as he hit the back of his head on the lifted hood of their car. Erik slammed the hood shut, his tan tux now smudged in grease. Erik walked from the hood of the car to open the passenger door where Charles was seated. Charles sat comfortable with his head resting against the passenger seat while his eyes rested shut.
The elderly mutants were coming back from a well deserved date night only for them to discover that some anti-mutantist group had vandalized and destroyed the engine of their car. At least that's what Erik assumed, whether or not this was an act of prejudice the two were stranded in the parking lot with no hope of finding a ride home.
Erik reaches his hand out to Charles to help him out of the car and onto his wheelchair. Charles instinctively wraps his arms around Erik’s neck as he closes the door behind them, Erik looks at him for a brief moment admiring him. Giving Charles a weak smile before speaking, “Were you able to reach any of the students at the mansion?” Charles frowned and shook his head feeling dejected. Erik held Charles by the waist using his powers to open the backseat door. Charles' wheelchair made its way out the door, unfolding itself elegantly as Erik placed it lightly on the ground. Placing a soft peck on Charles' forehead, Erik guided Charles down to sit on his wheelchair.
There was a brief moment of silence before Erik spoke, “So what will we do now?” Charles laid his elbow on the arm of his wheelchair as he rested his head in the palm of his hand, closing his eyes for a brief moment, and stretching his mind in another attempt to locate a cab or uber. When Charles opened his eyes again his face formed the same frown as before, “I don’t suppose there's a lot we can do, It's rare to find a cab nowadays…” He paused for a moment and stared down at himself, “...and I doubt we’ll find an uber that’ll accommodate my wheelchair”.
Erik frowned when Charles said that looking back at the vintage black Rolls Royce that was Charles’ car. On the outside the car looked fine but its engine was completely destroyed along with several parts being taken from it. “Mm we could..call for a tow…” Erik says, with a slight shiver in between his words as the night cold began to settle in, “...but that’ll take time and a shit ton of money.” Charles chuckled, “Well, we both know I have a lot of that” Erik smirked down at Charles, the tiredness in his eye becoming more visible to him.
A long yawn emerged from Erik as he sluggishly rubbed his eyes and let his body fall against the car's window evidently trying to rest against the car's metal exterior. The vehicle's short build almost made it possible for him to put his whole arm to rest on the top of the roof. Charles glanced up at Erik watching his movement he constantly shifted the position of his legs and stuffed his face against his arm, “Shame…I really liked this car.” Erik said, his tone seeming generally sad about the car’s condition. “Stupid...homospiens…” His voice muffled against the sleeve of his tux suit before moving his head to turn towards Charles making himself more audible and continuing his speech, “How will we get home now…everyone at the school is probably worried sick” Erik tone became more aggressive as his face became scrunched. Charles reached out for Erik’s hand, holding softly, “I know Darling you are tired, I can try to get in contact with my X-Men so that’ll come and help us…” Charles paused and looked around scanning his environment for a moment, his eyes landed on a bench that sat a few paces in front of them, “There's a bench right here you can rest on” Erik slowly turned his head to the said bench Charles was referring to.
For a moment Erik considered the offer but then an idea popped up in his mind. Turning his head back to face Charles. Erik picked up the hand that still held onto his own and brought it up to brush against his lips. Pushing himself off the car he leaned down towards the bald man a warm smile elopes his face as he says in a low and sleepy tone, “I think…I know a better– more comfortable place to rest” Eriks eyes dart down towards Charles' lap before looking back into his eyes. Charles raised an eyebrow as a light blush sprinkled onto his face, “Oh? I fear this is no time to give me a lap dance Erik” Charles teased earning a laugh from Erik as he stood straight, “While I know you’d love that, that’s not what I'm suggesting” Erik turned around and made himself comfortable in Charles’ lap.
Wrapping his arms tenderly around Erik’s waist; Charles was now confused about Erik's intentions. “What are you trying to do?”
Erik’s previously tired demeanor quickly melted away as a smirk plastered across his face, “I was thinking of using my magnetism to take us back to the mansion”. Erik’s intentions became even more unclear to Charles, “And how do you think of doing that?”. At that Erik turned his body so that he could hold Charles face, “Why don’t you find out for yourself Charles, you’re the telepath here aren’t you”. Charles looked at the human magnet feeling skeptical but reluctantly allowed himself into his mind.
His eyes widened when he finally saw–or heard Erik’s “idea”. “You want to…drive my wheelchair back to the mansion?” it came out as more of a question than anything. Erik gave him a mischievous look before nodding.
“You know I can do”
Charles gave him a look. “I have no doubt in your ability to execute your idea,” Charles replied reassuringly. “It's just…It’s very..risky,” Charles chose his words wisely while raising his hand to cover Erik’s. Erik rolled his eyes and laughed playfully before bringing his face closer to Charles, “You trust me don’t you, Charles?”. Erik's tone was low and spiked with love. Charles felt his chest warm and became shy, “Of course–!” Charles struggled to form words, “Of course I do– I–I just don’t want you to tire yourself.” When Charles said that Erik leaned forward to capture his lips for a tender but quick kiss and he said in a confident tone, “ I won’t”.
Charles exhaled too tired to argue any further and just nodded his head in confirmation for Erik to proceed with his plan. Erik gave him one final kiss before turning his body to face all the way forward and focusing on the magnetic pull of the wheelchair.
“Hold on old friend”

How Erik knew where to go despite the restaurant being a 30 minute drive from the mansion Charles hadn’t the slightest clue. Though he should, being a telepath and all. Though it could be hard trying to read someone's mind when you’re clinging on to them for dear life as they maneuver through traffic in your wheelchair.
Oh wait…
“ERIK, SLOW DOWN!!/”, The professor exclaimed, panic entangling his voice. Though his shouts proved to do nothing as the pair continued to swerve violently through the cramped vehicles that drove on the highway, occasionally Erik would lift up the wheelchair to fly over a few cars just to tease the poor professor.
Erik turned his head slightly to speak to Charles,“What's the matter Charles? You used to love bumpy rides”. If it weren't for the constant wind being plowed into his eyes and ears combined with Erik lengthy silver hair scraping into his face Charles would’ve heard the suggestive tease in Eriks voice.
“What?!” he asked with a struggle which proved to be useless as Erik chuckled in response.
Charles attempted to move his head to the side to see in front of him only to admittedly reject it as a truck was barreling towards them.
“Erik!! WATCH OUT”
The smirk on Erik’s face quickly melted as he hurriedly lifted himself and Charles up and over the truck. Charles clinged to Erik for dear life as he tried to calm his ragged breath, Erik let out a shaky laugh bringing his left hand to sooth Charles.
“Are you alright?” Erik asked, sounding guilty but still amused. Charles just sighed, looking up at Erik with a playfully annoyed expression on his face, cocking an eyebrow up before chuckling softly.
“Now can you get us back home…” Charles paused, “Safely”. Erik rolled his eyes while chuckling and began to settle back down on the road again only to have to jerk the chair back up as a car seemingly tried to hit them. Erik, taken aback, whispers, “What is this?”
“Erik…I think we’ve attracted an audience”
At this moment both Charles and Erik are sitting in Charles’ wheelchair that is currently floating in the middle of a 4 way road with traffic lights on either side, several cars are honking loudly with several angry civilians wondering what was going on. And what was going on was a block aid. A group of around 5 trucks formed a circle in the middle of the street around the mutant activist. Multiple pedestrians and a few drivers watch from the sidewalk and from their cars curiously. Men and women leaving the casino or just getting a pump of gas all froze to butt in on the scene that lied in front of them. Some were even recording or taking pictures.
“Erik, we need to go…”
“Now.” Charles was stern but clearly concern with the scene that laid bellow
“Can you hear their thoughts, Charles?” (what do you think smartass?)
He nodded. “They mean to kill us, Erik.”
That's all Magento needed to hear before attempting to escape. Around them 3 men with black masks or bandanas covering their face each hurriedly exited each of the 5 trucks that surrounded the pair. In a beat each of the men started throwing shards of glass, rocks, and other material. Magento flawlessly avoids the projectiles and quickly moves him and Charles out of the circle.
“GET THOSE F@GOT MUTIES” one of the men roared while several of the anti- mutantist got their trucks screaming , hollering, and ramming their trucks through bystanding cars.
“Ah shit, this is going to be a date to remember”, Charles said trying to joke despite the circumstances. “Whatever you do we can’t lead them back to the mansion”, Charles added now sounding serious. “But the X-Men can help–”Erik attempted to rebuttal but Charles just shook his head, “If we go back to the mansion there's a chance that my–the children will get hurt” Charles’ voice was strict toward Erik as he closed his eyes, focusing his mind towards the angry mob of men chasing behind them. Their thoughts made his mind feel like hell.
The two elders were zooming through the booming roads that were New York. Cars honking, people shouting, and a couple just watched. Lord, how would they get out of this? It seemed like everywhere they’d turn a new mob would just appear.
After losing 3 out of the several hundred trucks that were now chasing the pair, they stopped to rest between two apartment buildings. Erik got up from Charles lap that if Charles still had feeling in his legs they’d feel like static from how long Erik’s been sat there. When Erik got up he immediately slumped his back against a nearby brick wall while his breath ran ragged. “Shit shit shit–I–I mean I don’t know– w–what we’re going to do Charles I–” Erik leaned his whole upper body forward leaving his behind pressed against the wall while his legs bent slightly allowing him to rest his elbows on his thigh so he could ram his face into his hands. Charles felt Erik panic in his head; it felt warm and achy. Maneuvering himself toward Erik— Charles placed both his hands on either side of Erik’s face, his hands overlapped with Eriks. “I feel your fear Erik which is why I know what we must do.” Erik let his hands fall along with the rest of his body aside from his head which was besieged in Charles' hands, “Are you saying…”. “Yes my friend”. A devious smirk lit up on Erik’s face before he pulled Xavier in for a longing smooch. Standing to his full height Erik looked down at Charles who looked up with a satisfied expression, “Are you sure of this Meine Liebe? I know violence is at the top of your list for things we shouldn’t do to get humans to accept us” Erik said with a playful tease. Charles bitted back, “Oh Magnus don’t act like you’re the only bad boy here after all we’re both “mutant terrorist” in their eyes and might I inform you that the reason I don’t kill is because I do something far worse…” Those last word flowed through Erik’s whole core, “Telepathic torture” Charles whispered quietly before snickering at Eriks reaction. The moment Charles' laughter stopped, two trucks blocked either side of the alley they were in while over top of them people watched curiously from their fire escape for the action that was soon to ensue. “‘Telepathic torture’, you say Charles?”Erik remarked to Charles casually. “We will definitely need to look into that later…”.
“But for now” Erik settled himself into his previous position on Charles lap, “Let see what you’ve got my friend”
SHABOOM!!
Erik--Magento shot the trucks from where they barricaded him and Charles, posing for a moment with his arms spread on either side of him before flying both of them up between the two apartment buildings. The pair would be met with a surprise with the several other anti-mutantist waiting for them on the roof , guns of all shapes and sizes pointed at them. Magento’s face beamed with glee at the sight below him. While any normal person would die from just the mere sight of a gun Magento would see it as an opportunity to show off why he’s called the “Master of Magnetism”.
“Now wait moment dear” Charles' voice rang through his head as all of the anti-mutantist seemingly froze in their place. Usually when this happens it means Charles has made you think time has frozen, but judging by the contorted looks on the humans faces Magento is willingly to bet Charles has somehow forced the humans to freeze in their place. “Now what are you planning to do Charles?” Magento questioned. “Just wanted to lay out some rules for us” Charles' response echoed inside Magento’s head. A scoff of annoyance panged through Magento but he was reluctant to listen. “No.1, no killing bystanders or any of these anti-mutantist” Magento scoffed at that last statement, “While you and I are both eager to kill these people, it will not benefit mutants in any way…but on that note you may inflict as many injures as you must on them” Magento chuckled at that last part and turned his upper body to cradle Charles’ face in his hand. “And one last thing…” Charles’ eyes opened slightly, his deep blue eyes being displayed at their fullest extent. “I only kill when necessary” the professor whispered now audible to Magento as they both sunk into a kiss.
Muffled shouts are heard as Charles lets the anti-mutants' be mobile again, slowly backing away from the kiss. Bullets ricochet away from the old couple thanks to the protective repelling magnetic shield that Magento has formed around them. Bullets fly back toward the anti-mutants' which causes them to run and duck from the bullets that seemingly followed them. This would prove to be useless as they either received a bullet in the leg, chest, or if lucky received a broken bone or two for diving/falling off the roof. Magento chuckled a bit at the chaos that he caused while turning his attention out into the street in front of them. Bundles of police cruisers pulled up alongside with more anti-mutantist trucks. “Your move Charles” Magento challenged tauntingly toward the professor whose pupils now glowed a hot pink.
“Calm..”
Charles’ voice surged through the minds of officers and wounded anti-mutants' who hunched over themselves upon hearing his voice. Bystanders, officers, and hurt anti-mutants' all turned to the floating professor above and Magento who is now floating behind his lover's wheelchair, a mischievous smirk is planted on his face at the scene that his husband has created.
Charles echoes his thoughts, “Violence…violence is something I loathe..”. Magento slowly descends himself and Charles toward the semi circle blockage that the police, anti-mutants', and a few drivers have seemingly made. Everything was silent besides the familiar police siren that blared along with the incoming helicopter. “Such distress and fear you all have brought to me and my dearest. Tonight! Which I hoped would be filled with love and laughter has been made into this.” Charles paused and looked toward the helicopter approaching his right. The sound of the helicopter made him wanna split his skull, but he kept a poker face and continued. “I want to show you all the pain, the panic, the fear you’ve inflicted onto me and my dearest friend…”. Shrieks of horror were admitted from a few of the anti-mutants' for a second before they all froze in place. Charles could feel the guilt ringing through all their heads and was satisfied. Disconnecting from everybody's head he released a sigh before looking up to the helicopter and giving a gentle smile.

Jean was chatting in the kitchen with Scott and Ororo (Storm) when a flood of children ran past with Logan walking behind sluggishly. “Well what's all that about?” Ororo questioned Logan who stopped to lean against the entrance frame of the kitchen. He shrugged before speaking, “Beats me, but I’d hear’d smth bout’ta mutant attack on–”.
“IT'S THE PROFESSOR AND MAGENTO”
The X-men all stand straight as they exchange looks with one another. Scott is the first to move with the rest of the team falling behind as he leads them toward the living room where the children plus Rouge and Gambit are settled in around the screen. Scott is frozen at what he sees. “Oh dear…the Professor” Jean cries as she holds onto Scott while still facing the screen. A news lady with winter clothing blips onto the screen as she starts to talk in the stereotypical news voice, “Live in front of Central Park we have famous mutant rights activist Magento and Professor Xavier seemingly surrounded by police after being attacked on 5th avenue by a band of anti-mutantist…”.
“Oh dear I do hope the Professor and Magnus are alright..” Rouge's words were felt throughout the mansion as some of the kids curled up on themselves. “Ah quick’cha cryin Rouge, Chuck and magnetic-man will be just fine..” Logan shuffled anxiously in his spot on the wall. “We can only pray, mon ami” Gambit stated softly as he held Rouge.
LOTS OF HOURS LATER
Charles and Magnus after a long and unnecessary explanation to police have gotten off with but a few charges which thanks to the wealth of Charles won’t be a problem. However, the fiends who attacked the old couple were arrested after investigations were held at Charles' request to reveal that they were an old white supremist group who had turned from just staging hate crimes on African Americans and other minorities to now include mutants.
Despite the stress of the couple's night being brought to an end a new one emerges from Charles as he minds worries for his students at the mansion who he knows are worried sick about the pair. “Something the matter, Charles?” Magnus asked Charles from across the cramped police cruiser. “Yes, ngh–For starters this car clearly doesn’t suit my wheelchair..” Charles struggles with the weight of his wheelchair completely crushing the left side of his body, “Well you were the one that said we should corporate” Magnus stared pitiful as his lover struggled under the bearing weight. “Well you’re fucking heavy Erik, I didn’t feel like fly 45 minutes back to the mansion with your ass crushing weight…” Charles paused in his struggle with what he just said, “I-I’m sorry I don’t know what came over me I–”. “It's alright Liebling, your mind is stressed right now. I know you didn’t mean it.” Magnus actually liked it when Charles was aggressive with him, it reminded him why Charles being a pacifist benefitted his life and everybody else’s.
“Oh my dear you flatter me, and if I wasn't so tired I’d actually try to argue that thought..” Charles blue eyes scampered off to the right of him, no longer bothered by the squashing weight of his wheelchair he frowned. “Charles I am not a telepathy so please tell me what is on your mind”. Charles turned slightly to Magnus with a soft smile before he spoke, “What will we say to the children. My head is already beating itself enough as it is. And to add to the concerns of my students and the X-men to it? I fear I won’t hear the end.” Magnus reached out to grab hold of Charles hand slightly, “Oh Charles I may have flattered you too much for you to believe that you’ll be doing all the talking”. “Oh really?” Charles’ smile grew larger at hearing the Master of Magnetism words. “Really, Liebling”.
After a moment Charles chuckled to himself, "Come to think of it, this all could've been avoided if we had just called a tow."
Charles stared blankly at Erik who shrugged, "Well of course, but where's the joy in that...?" Charles smiled and rolled his eyes at the response, "Where's the joy in bouncing across New York in a wheelchair?"
"Oh well that simply. I enjoy bouncing on you" Erik replied confidently.
"Oh hush your face." Charles' face beamed red.
