The ice under her feet makes a grating slicking sound to let her know the inadequate traction on her boots were causing her feet to slide. Ankle always a hair away from twisting as she ran.
Though it's not like she had much choice as her companion had a tight grip on her wrist as they pulled her along. The abominable snowman they were running from, ground shaking foot steps behind them as it chased them.
“Fuck.”
An accented voice cursing catches her attention from mulling over the bone chilling wind scratching at her bones.
“What?”
But just as the words leave her mouth, Astra notices what made Charlie curse. The ground that they were running on drops off up ahead.
“Fuck!”
“That's what I said.”
“What are we going to do?”
“I got this, just trust me.”
“I don't believe you, just so you know.” Astra replies still following behind Charlie anyways.
The sinking feeling in Astra's stomach only grows as Astra notices they're now running even quicker towards the cliff edge instead of away.
The hand on her arm tightens just a bit as Charlie speaks
“We're going to jump.”
“I knew I shouldn't have trusted you.”
A cold fear goes through Astra as she realizes how close the cliff edge is getting. “Is this a bad time to mention I can't swim?”
Maybe it's overzealous to assume it's water below and not another land of ice waiting for them.
“I've got you.”
The dropping feeling in Astra's stomach is nothing compared to the feeling when the freezing cold water engulfs her body.
After Charlie stops Astra from panicking and almost drowning them both and second time trying to drown them out of pure anger from being in the water. Charlie manages to contact the legends to pick them up quickly.
Charlie kept true to her word and kept herself wrapped around Astra, keeping them both afloat. Shifting her body heat to keep them warmer just long enough for the legends to pop in and sweep them up.

Astra angrily pulls the fluffy robe Gideon fabricated for her tighter around her body. The cozy pajamas probably giving the opposite aura of the boiling temperament she's currently experiencing right now.
She's ready to use the time courier to send her back to John's house.
As soon as her hands stop shaking from her shivering.
The door hisses open as Charlie enters in her own robe and fuzzy pajamas. Not that shocking considering this is her room (that they're both sharing).
“I had Gideon whip us up some hot chocolate.” Charlie hands the cup to Astra. “I also had her add some extra marshmallows to yours and Z added this weird dragon ash stuff for replenishing vitamins.”
Astra hides an excited smile with the mug as she takes a sip. The warm feeling of the liquid sends a sensation of minor relaxation through her.
Charlie goes to take a sip of her own drink when she pauses just before it reaches her lips. Her eyes seem to lock in on something in Astra-s hand. The time courier.
“I'm going back to John's, once I warm up.”
Charlie's shoulders sag a little, almost in defeat before she speaks.
“You're still mad. Don't leave, stay here a little longer. I promise I'll help you get warm.”
“Your worst pick up line for sex yet.”
“ Actually I was talking about a movie night but I'm glad to know what's on your mind.” Charlie responds with one of their shit eating smiling back at Astra.
Astra grumbles mostly from embarrassment but also in considering, did Astra really want to go back to Johns right now? Charlie HAD saved them and it was much warmer here, considering John didn't pay a heating bill.
“Fine, but I'm picking the movies.”
Later when they're relaxing on Charlie's couch, two movies in. Astra finds that Charlie's arms around her much more relaxing when they're not floating in an arctic body of water.
