Work Text:
Tim hadn't seen Red Hood on patrol that evening when he decided to slip into the safe house. He was reasonably sure this was the correct place based on his last ping from Jason's phone.
He pried the window open just a crack and shifted to slink through, using his hind legs to close it again.
The lights in the bedroom were off and while the sheets were messed, no Jason was seen.
Tim scurried through the room on four paws and cautiously peeked into the living room.
He heard a harsh cough turn to a hack turn to a full fit and gasping for air. Jason was laying on the couch with a blanket over him, surrounded by tissues and empty drink bottles.
Tim cautiously approached. Jason let out another round of hacking coughs and blew his nose. He had a hand draped off the side and his other had moved back to covering his face, wadded tissue still in hand.
Tim brushed his fur under Jason's dangling hand.
Jason jerked up to look at him.
“Oh hey Tim.” He sounded hoarse. “Sorry just getting over a cold. Don't think I'd make good company this evening.”
His hand dropped back down and Tim rubbed himself against it purring. Jason gave him a few obligatory pets before his coughing interrupted again.
Tim looked around the room again. There was no evidence Jason had been eating and he looked to be out of electrolyte drinks and down to plain water. Tim knew Jason always drank bottled water so the glass of water was a dead giveaway he was low on supplies.
Tim shimmered, changing back to human shape to press his hand against Jason's forehead.
He was burning. A quick glance through the kitchen assured Tim his hypothesis was right and Jason was out of drinks, his cabinets bare, and no evidence of medicine.
He sighed and glanced back to the couch bound figure. Jason had placed his hand over his face and was breathing heavily again.
Tim did the only thing that made sense to him. He called Alfred.
After Alfred assured him that he'd bring some supplies over and no it wasn't a bother he's glad Tim checked on Jason and thought to call, Tim ran through the instructions provided. He found some washcloths, clean clothes and blankets and took the trash bin into the living room.
He picked up all the trash, and started to wipe Jason's face and neck down. He helped him change into a clean pair of sweats and swapped the blanket for a fresh one.
Jason tried to refuse the help initially, but after nearly face planting while trying to change his clothes, he'd accepted his fate.
By the time they got Jason tucked up and Tim had the laundry bundled, the doorbell rang.
Tim answered and let in Alfred who was wearing a cloth mask and carrying a few reusable bags.
Damian trailed behind him face wrapped in a scarf and carrying a few drink cases. He promptly set his stuff down and returned to the hallway.
“I included a few tests so you can see what's got Master Jason down.” He informed Tim as they swapped packages.
“Thanks Alfred.” Tim smiled at him (and at Damian who ignored him).
Alfred nodded, before returning to Damian in the hallway as Tim placed the care package on the counter.
Inside were a few tests as promised, various types of medicines, and some pre cooked meals. Damian had brought in a case of water and a case of electrolyte drinks.
Tim unpacked the food, and returned to Jason to see about the tests.
As he reviewed the results (flu most likely culprit) he heated Jason some of the soup Alfred brought.
Jason hadn't moved much so Tim sat on the floor between the couch and coffee table. He encouraged Jason to have a few sips of soup before taking the medicine.
They slowly worked through the bowl Tim had heated. Jason promptly passed out once the food finished and meds kicked in. Tim had a bowl himself before slipping into his other form and approaching Jason again.
Jason was curled on his side, already breathing easier than when Tim had first arrived. Tim jumped on the couch in the small space between Jason and the edge.
Jason's arm immediately wrapped around for a sleepy cuddle. “Thanks Tim.” His voice still hoarse but softer.
Tim purred as Jason's breathing deepened and he slipped back to sleep.
