Summary
Hermione did not get cat hairs of Millicent Bulstrodes clothes- it were the hair of a hag! How had it got there? Well, this is not really important. Important was that it reacted very different as animal or human hairs… In this case that the hybridization was quite permanent. Luckily, Hermione gained at the same time the ability to turn from a young hag back into her human form. Another happy side effect was that she gained some form of instinctual potion-brewing ability. She always seem to know what herbs would add which properties into a potion. In other words, as long as no one besides Dumbledore and Madam Pomfrey learnt about her new nature the future seemed no less bright for Hermione. Perhaps she would even become the ancestor of a completely new species of witches/ hags? Well, this was before the end of her fifth year…
