What do you want with my daddy?

Summary:

It all started when Tsukishima Kei was sitting contentedly by the bar someone tried to hit on him.

And that's when hell broke lose.

Work Text:

The bar was alive with the energy of victory. The national team and a mix of other volleyball players were scattered around tables, their celebration loud and animated.

Laughter, clinking glasses, and the occasional exaggerated retelling of a game highlight filled the air.

At the bar, Tsukishima sat on a stool, lazily nursing his drink while Kuroo and Bokuto flanked him, both already tipsy and extra annoying.

“Man, I still can’t believe we pulled that off,” Bokuto said, taking a swig of his drink. “We crushed it!”

“Only because Hinata covered your ass on that last block,” Kuroo snickered, nudging him with his elbow.

Tsukishima just smirked, swirling his drink, when a voice interrupted his thoughts.

“So,” Kuroo drawled, “Any plans for tonight, Tsukki? Maybe finally getting a girl or maybe getting laid??”

Bokuto cackled, slapping Tsukishima’s shoulder. “Right?! You’ve been single for too long, man! It’s like—”

Before he could finish, a woman approached, sleek and confident.

She leaned on the bar, eyes locked on Tsukishima.

“Looks like you're free,” she said, her voice honeyed with interest. “can I steal you for a dance?”

Kuroo and Bokuto exchanged glances before grinning like mischievous foxes.

“Well, well, well,” Kuroo drawled, his smirk widening. “Looks like our dear Tsukki is in demand.”

Bokuto let out a whistle, loud enough to draw attention.

From the nearby table, Hinata, Miya Atsumu, Hoshiumi, and Suna all turned their heads, grinning knowingly as they caught on.

The teasing whistles grew louder, making the woman tilt her head with a smirk, clearly encouraged by the reaction.

It was common knowledge that Tsukishima wasn’t dating. Or what they all thought.

Before Tsukishima could flat-out reject her, a new presence made itself known.

Kageyama.Tobio.

Glass in hand, he approached Tsukishima with a steady, unfazed expression.

No hesitation.

No second thoughts.

With a face so cold true to his nickname "Ice King of the Court"

Stopping in front of Tsukishima, Kageyama handed over his drink.

“Hmmm, Here! I don’t like this anymore.”

The familiar voice sent a ripple through the surrounding players.

Kageyama stood close—too close—practically pressing himself against Tsukishima as he handed over his drink.

The shift in energy was immediate.

Then, without warning, Kageyama wrapped his arms around Tsukishima, leaning his head against his shoulder.

His dark blue eyes flicked up to the woman, scanning her from head to toe, before he spoke in a voice that was both cold and challenging.

“What do you want with my daddy?”

The silence that followed was deafening.

A sharp choking noise came from the table—Suna, coughing into his drink.

“D-Daddy?!” Bokuto practically screeched.

Hinata’s jaw dropped so hard it nearly hit the floor. Hoshiumi was already laughing, the Miya twins leaning on each other for support.

Tsukishima, unbothered as always, took a casual sip of the passed drink.

Then, to drive the point home, he turned back to the woman and shrugged.

“And that’s why I ain’t free.”

The woman blinked, face turning a shade redder, before quickly excusing herself and disappearing into the crowd.

The second she was out of sight, chaos erupted.

“What the hell, Kageyama?!” Hinata howled.

“DADDY?!” Bokuto repeated, still not over it.

Kuroo just grinned. “Wait—hold on—so you two are together?”

Atsumu wiped a tear from his eye. “yeahh! why don't you explain, kageyama"

But Kageyama just leaned his whole body to Tsukishima, crossing his arms. “She was annoying.”

Tsukishima sighed, rubbing his temple before leaning in slightly and putting his free hand on the setter's waist.

“Next time,” he muttered, "maybe don’t call me that in public.”

Kageyama turned to him, dead serious.

“But you like it.”

Tsukishima’s drink nearly slipped from his fingers.

And across the room, the teasing got a thousand times worse.

The table was absolute chaos.

Bokuto was practically wheezing, hunched over with tears in his eyes. “I—I can’t breathe!”

Hinata, who had previously been slack-jawed, suddenly found his voice. “Since when? Since when?!”

He pointed aggressively at Kageyama, then at Tsukishima. “You? And him?”

Kuroo, still grinning like a cat who just found a whole stash of cream, leaned forward. “Oh no, let’s go back to what Kageyama just said. ‘But you like it.’” He mimicked in a deadpan voice before bursting into laughter.

Hoshiumi, ever the instigator, pounded the table. “Wait, wait, WAIT! Does that mean you two have been dating this whole time and we didn’t know?”

Kageyama, still as dense as ever, frowned. “I thought it was obvious.”

“OBVIOUS?!” The entire table shrieked in unison.

Tsukishima sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. “You’re all giving me a migraine.”

“No, no, we’re not done here, Daddy,” Kuroo teased, grinning devilishly.

“Yes, Daddy!” Bokuto immediately picked up on it, Atsumu and Hinata joined in, banging on the table like absolute menaces.

Before they could keep going, a low growl cut through the noise.

“Grrrrr.”

Kageyama stood up, eyes narrowing dangerously. “Don’t call him that.”

His voice was low, serious.

The table fell quiet for a split second.

Kageyama crossed his arms. “Only I can call him that”

His tone was sharp, possessive.

Then, with the deadliest glare he could muster, he added,

“Do that again, and I’m serving a volleyball straight at your heads.”

And that's something considering Kageyama just bagged the reward for the most number of service ace on Asia's Volleyball Championship.

The group collectively lost it.

Hinata choked on his drink for the nth time, Suna let out a wheeze, and Kuroo threw his head back, howling. Bokuto fell off his chair.

Tsukishima sighed, rubbing his temples. “I really should’ve just stayed home.”

The bar, already in chaos, somehow managed to reach another level of insanity.

Atsumu, still grinning like the menace he was, leaned back in his chair and drawled, “Man, you could’ve just said he’s your boyfriend, your babe, your partner—hell, even your Kei—but you went all in with Daddy, Kageyama.”

Kageyama, still securely latched onto Tsukishima, furrowed his brows. “But that’s the only way I call him?” he said, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.

That was when Hinata absolutely shrieking cut through the air.

“OH MY GOD—BAKAYAMA, DOES THAT MEAN YOU’RE A BOTTOM?!”

Everything stopped.

A heavy silence fell over the group, save for the sound of someone choking on their drink—probably Yaku again.

Kageyama, blinking down at Hinata, looked at him like he was the dumbest person alive. “…I know you’re dumb, but I didn’t know you were this dumb, boke.”

Hinata scowled. “What does that even—”

“I’m a setter.”

A pause. As if everyone looked at him thinking of the connection?

And then—

“All setters are bottoms, boke.”

Kageyama said it with the kind of finality that made it sound like a fundamental truth of the universe, as if it were written in the stars, carved into the walls of ancient history, passed down through generations of volleyball players.

Another beat of silence.

And then—pure, unfiltered chaos.

“EXCUSE ME?!” Atsumu screeched, practically throwing his drink onto the table.

“The actual hell, TOBIO-CHAN?!” Oikawa shouted, looking personally offended. “Where did you even get that idea?!”

“You don’t agree?” Kageyama said blankly, tilting his head like they were the weird ones.

Before either of them could launch into a full-on rant, their respective partners swiftly stepped in.

Sakusa, sipping his drink like this conversation was beneath him, didn’t even look at Atsumu as he muttered, “Sit down, you are one.”

Atsumu turned to him in utter betrayal. “OMIIII?!”

Iwaizumi, cracking his knuckles, sighed. “Shittykawa, don’t even start, we all know you are.”

Oikawa gawked at him. “IWA-CHAN?!”

At that, the bar exploded in laughter.

Suna was on the verge of tears, recording everything. Bokuto had collapsed onto Kuroo, who was wheezing so hard he nearly fell off his stool.

Hoshiumi was pounding the table with his fist, while Yaku was clutching his stomach, barely breathing. Even Sakusa, who rarely showed emotion, had a smug tilt to his lips.

Meanwhile, Tsukishima sighed, resting his forehead in his palm questioning his decisions in life looking at the absolute adorable dumbass in between his legs.

Kageyama was still there leaning in him, completely unbothered by the scandal he had just caused.

At this rate, the volleyball community was never going to recover from tonight.

Kuroo, crying from laughter, clapped his hands together. “Oh my god, I never thought I’d see the day Kageyama just declares something like that.”

Hoshiumi, still barely breathing, gasped out, "I can’t believe Kageyama just declared every setter in history a bottom and walked away like it was a goddamn weather report.”

Yaku, face red from laughter, shook his head. “This is gonna be a thing now.”

Suna, still filming, zoomed in on Atsumu’s betrayed face. “This is historical. Volleyball’s top setters react to being called bottoms.”

“All setters are bottoms—Tobio Kageyama, 2025,” Osamu smirked, "this is definitely going to be viral."

Tsukishima, who had been silently suffering this entire time, rubbed his temples mutters,  "swear to god, Kageyama—"

Kageyama just blinked at him, still oblivious to the chaos he had caused. “What? It’s true.”

And that was the night the entire volleyball community learned two things:

Kageyama was possessive as hell over his Daddy Kei.

In his mind, the laws of the universe dictated that all setters were, without question, bottoms.

And honestly? No one was ever gonna let them live this down.
