Work Text:

“So I was thinking,” Laudna trilled. “Our first Valentine’s Day as a couple is coming up, and I want to do something special, but it occurred to me…I don’t really know what one does, when one has a significant other.” She coughed. “I mean, I have vague ideas through cultural osmosis. But nobody really wanted a ‘small-tiddy goth gf’ until now. So I don’t really know what I like.”

“I know what I like, and your chest is just fine, darlin’,” Imogen began, then shared a blush with Laudna as they laughed on their couch, curled up against the chill seeping in the windows. “If we hadn’t already been living together before we started dating, we could have played into the stereotypes and spent the day moving in together.”

Laudna snorted with laughter, remembering the ‘OMG they were roommates’ cake Orym had baked when they had announced they had (finally) gotten together. “Anyway, dinner out is a classic, but neither of us care for large crowds.”

“There’s maybe one and a half decent sapphic Valentine’s movies, so that’s out.” Imogen broadcast another burst of anti-heteronormative rage to the universe at large.

“I’ve got a dreadful black thumb, or I’d get you flowers,” Laudna lamented. “I miss Clive the cactus.” They clinked their cocoa mugs together in Clive’s memory.

“I mean, I’m always game to just stay in and fuck you rotten,” Imogen volunteered, making Laudna's face redden again. Imogen grinned and leaned in closer, voice low and sultry. “I’m getting a little jealous of that blush.”

“Oh?” Laudna managed, still blushing, knees tucked up under her chin.

“The way it keeps spreading itself over your cheeks…I keep thinking that could be me.” She winked and one hand slid up under Laudna’s black skirt, then down her shin, pale and smooth .

“I’m,” Laudna panted, “I’m going to go put our mugs back in the kitchen. And after that, you’re going to sit on my face because I don’t think I’ll be able to think of anything else until you do.”

“And after that?” Imogen was already undoing the belt on her jeans.

“After that,” Laudna replied, shucking off her top and flinging the peasant blouse (a lovely dark maroon color) across the room, “we can finish brainstorming some of the other things we’ll do for Valentine’s Day.” She flopped back over the arm of the sofa, and grinned up at Imogen.

“Now that,” Imogen agreed, shimmying forward to plant a knee on either side of Laudna’s ears, “sounds like a plan.”
