Shang’s eyes went wide as he followed the arrow’s trajectory to the fifty-foot pole in the center of the camp. A tired but satisfied Ping grinned down at the men from his perch at the top, Strength and Discipline draped casually over his shoulder.

She hopes he doesn’t want reassurance, because she won’t be giving any. Motivating speeches and heartfelt monologues are all Himmel’s forte. But he seems to be genuinely asking her, so she replies with the simple truth.
“Because you’re human,” she says.
Wherein Himmel blames himself, and a mildly clueless but shockingly profound Frieren tries her best to help. So really, business as usual.

And when Frieren finally arrives for good, she too tries her very best to participate… with varying results.
"Fern and Himmel exchanged a glance. A tale as old as time. Himmel tilted his head almost imperceptibly towards Kento, a signal. Last time he was the one to say the hard thing. This time, it was her turn to say the hard thing. She took a deep breath, readied her most sympathetic voice, most sympathetic expression, then said, “Kento-san, sometimes we can love someone very much, but—”
“You should break up with her. She obviously doesn’t love you anymore,” came a nonchalant voice.
