Summary:

Could you do more of the Alpha/Alpha series? - mistythedritten

Notes:

Original prompt:
mistythedritten asked:
*comically falls into the room, dangling to the ceiling by one leg* Hi!

Could you do more of the Alpha/Alpha series? Or maybe the Obsession Verse? I happily gnaw on those series all the time I love them.

To be fair I love all your fics, they’ve just been rotating in my brain’s microwave most recently

My reply:
*grinning* Hi! Sorry it took me so long to get to this—it’s amazing how quickly the queue builds up, and I’ve been jumping around because my brain has been weird lately. But here we are! I have another prompt (substantially further down the queue, but it is there) for Obsession Verse, so for this one I’m doing some more Alpha/Alpha.

Although I confess, their dynamics don’t have much to do with this ficlet. But this is what my brain gave me for their next step. 🙂

Most of the series is here. The one just before this one is here.

Work Text:

Stephen is having an almost perfect evening. His body is aching pleasantly from an enthusiastic round of sex, he’s sitting up in a perfectly supportive, perfect temperature bed, he’s got a fascinating new journal article to read, and the air is full of the musky, satisfying scent of his partner.

If only Tony wasn’t twitching like he was sitting on a live wire.

Eventually, Stephen sighs, sets his tablet aside, and turns to Tony. “Spit it out before you choke on it,” he says.

“I never choke,” Tony says automatically.

Stephen huffs a laugh—he’s not wrong—but then levels a look at Tony. “You know what I mean.”

Tony blows out a breath. “Okay, look, I want you to know that I know that this is way too soon, but you said to spit it out so here it is: I want you to move in with me. If you want to.”

For a moment, Stephen is purely confused, and then he remembers: they don’t actually live together, do they? Not officially. His toiletries are in the bathroom and half his clothes are in the closet, but he does still text Tony after work with a Your place or mine?

It is too soon, but Stephen still knows what his answer is: “I’d love to.”

Tony breaks into a grin. “You don’t need time to think about it?”

Stephen grins back. “When have we ever needed time?”

Tony laughs and pulls Stephen in a celebratory kiss.

And here Stephen thought the evening couldn’t get better.
