Work Text:
Aeolus flies around playing with her Winions when Hermes enters.
“cough cough,”
Aeolus looks up at Hermes as the Winions fly away.
“Oh, helloooo there. What brings you out to my island?”
“I’m here on behalf of a hero, darling, Odysseus.”
Aeolus looks at him with a confused look.
“Who?”
“The guy you gave the windbag to?”
“Ohhhh, him, he was kinda cute. But I thought he died?
“He’s always finding a way out of death, it seems. But anyways, back to my point and why I need a new windbag.”
Aeolus starts to laugh a bit.
“Yeah, I gave him one already, and he messed it up.”
Hermes puts one hand on her shoulder.
“Look, darling. I need this.”
“Hmm, if you want this so badly, maybe we can play a game.”
Hermes’ face lights up.
“Ooo, now you’re talking about what kind of game. It doesn’t matter because I’m the best at all games.”
“Are you now? Alright then, if you can beat me In a race, you can have it.”
“Oo, exciting. I hope you’re ready to lose.”
“I would be so sure of that.”
They both line up at the end of the island.
“First to make it to that rock and back wins.”
The Winions come back to do a countdown.
“3. 2. 1. GO!”
Hermes shoots off towards the rock, reaching it in seconds and turning back to the island.
“Ha, beat that darling-”
Aeolus was standing there in front of Hermes, giggling.
“What-but-how, rematch!”
They race again, and the same thing happens. Hermes finishes even quicker, but Aeolus still beats him, now fully laughing.
“Rematch! Rematch! Rematch!”
After 30 rematches, Hermes collapses onto the ground.
“F-f-fine y-you win”
Aeolus picks him up
“Hermes, you know I’m the wind god. I move with the wind. You couldn’t have beat me.”
Hermes stares at her.
“So you did this on purpose?”
“Yeah, and you fell for it.”
She falls on the floor, dying laughing, while Hermes stands there embarrassed.
“That was so much fun! So I’ll be nice and give you the bag anyway.”
She tosses him the windbag.
“T-thanks, darling”
Hermes says, grinding his teeth.
