ACKNOWLEDGE YOUR LOW BLOOD SUGAR

Summary:

Red Alert didn't get enough energon, so he's feeling a little down right now. Skyfire helps!

Prompt: Delirious

Notes:

Googled what causes delirium. It said low blood sugar and I kinda just forgot about delirium. Oops. Ah well, this prompt was planned to be more whump-y with Bumblebee and Cheetor. You can probably assume what was going to happen with them given Cyberverse.

Work Text:

Red Alert's head was pounding, beads of sweat dripping down. He couldn't remember what he was doing before, he was sitting now.

He felt disoriented, he wasn’t sure what happened, his processor felt fuzzy, nothing made sense anymore, he couldn't move, it all felt…

Strange.

*

Skyfire walked in after his patrol, hoping to catch Red Alert at the end of his shift.

He didn't expect to find Red Alert curled up in his chair. The smaller bot was sweaty and shaky, optics staring off into nothing.

“Red?” Skyfire prompted, kneeling down to Red Alert’s level. “Red, can you hear me?” All he got for an answer was a shaky gasp.

This had happened before. Likely what happened was that Red Alert had gotten so caught up in his work, that he forgot to refuel. Unfortunately, when this happened, usually, Red Alert hadn’t refuelled all day, so…

This would happen.

“Red. Let’s get you some fuel, alright?” Skyfire wrapped his arms around Red Alert and picked him up, bringing him to their quarters.

The quarters were more quiet than the break room, less optics staring at Red, less judgement, just…less.

Red Alert was placed on the bed before Skyfire grabbed a cube of energon from the stash he kept for times like this. Skyfire joined Red on the bed, and held the cube up to his mouth, helping Red drink.

After a few long sips, Red Alert seemed to gain enough strength to grab the cube, albeit with shaky hands, and hold it, Skyfire still helping. A little while later, the cube was finished, and Red Alert slumped against Skyfire, no longer shaking now.

”Red? Are you okay?”

Red Alert nodded, snuggling in closer to the jet. He was too tired to speak now.

“Do you want to take a nap?”

Red nodded again, and Skyfire lowered them both down on the bed, holding Red close.

“Thanks…” Red Alert mumbled.

Skyfire chuckled. “No problem.”
