An all-seeing mind is not all-knowing. Eren Jaeger is blindsided by his sudden and unexpected presentation; and like the dutiful soldier he masquerades as all he can really do is grit his teeth and keep his head down when he is told in no uncertain terms that he will have to be mated and marked, lest this unexpected heat kill him, Paradis' only true weapon.
