Summary
Changeling. That's what Ivy's village called him, once. Before the Thing from the woods slaughtered them all and left only himself and his mother alive. In the twenty-odd years since, the two of them have lived in seclusion, far from civilization. Far from anyone who could see him for what he's believed to be.
Then his mother dies.
With nothing left to lose, Ivy returns to his birth village. He finds it abandoned, an empty husk of what it was, and the woods burnt near to nothingness. But Ivy finds no peace, and he knows there will be none until he finds the beast that destroyed everything he had.
He'll confront it at any cost. Even if that means he must journey into the heart of the Singing Forest.
But in doing so, he learns there is more to life than what he once thought.
