Allow Me to Love Him Properly!

Summary:

Satoru Gojo's favorite holiday is, by far, Valentine's Day. Ever since he married his one and only, he has loved celebrating it by kissing Suguru every minute the day lasts—until a new rule at Jujutsu High prevented him from loving Suguru the way he wanted. Now, he is saddened by this cruel fate, and nothing seems to cheer him up. However, Suguru always finds a way to make him happy, no matter what obstacles come their way.

Notes:

Hello! It's been a while since I last posted, and I know I have a couple of series going on that I haven't been able to continue. I will update them soon, hopefully! For now, enjoy this one-shot that I was planning for Valentine's Day but couldn’t upload before. February hasn’t ended, so I guess that counts?

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Each Valentine's Day had become something special for Satoru ever since he married his one and only. He used to think it was a boring holiday and didn't quite understand it, until he met Suguru. Since they got together, he would always kiss him—any time, any hour, any moment—to celebrate, even if they were in front of their students, which grossed them out. He promised it would be only on that date, but everyone knew he was a big liar. He would interrupt Suguru’s class just to offer silly kisses or give him quick pecks during breaks.

The students didn't tolerate having to see them all the time, especially on that specific day when everything worsened. They decided to take matters into their own hands and talked to Principal Yaga about the ‘issue’, urging him to restrain the couple from kissing in class, corridors, or even the schoolyard.

After Yaga had to open a vote at school to officially make the 'no kissing during school hours' rule, Suguru had to remind his clingy, white-haired husband each time they were in the corridors or about to go to class not to do it. Satoru tried his best to convince him with puppy eyes, bribing him with candy or offering to be his slave during their free time—but it didn’t work.

It was Valentine's Day now, one of Satoru’s favorite days (besides his wedding with Suguru), but he was feeling upset. He wouldn't be able to express his feelings for Suguru as openly like he wanted to. His expressionless face and the lack of his characteristic humor were noticeable to everyone around him, including his husband. Suguru knew exactly why he wasn't in the mood for anything, but rules are rules, and they had to respect them.

Satoru had a long day ahead of him until he and his baby could go back to their shared home and love each other properly, without anyone interrupting their fun.

Satoru went to the schoolyard to watch over his students and instruct them. Unfortunately, he wasn’t in the mood for any of it, and he wore a big poker face throughout the entire training. The teenagers were practicing with Kyoto's students and ‘bonding’, as Yaga had suggested they should.

Utahime, who was standing near him and watching as well, walked closer. She was used to his stupid jokes and extroverted personality, but today, it was like he had been replaced by a completely different person.

“Gojo? Hello?” she asked, moving her palm at Satoru’s eye level, wondering if he could really be bothered like that while wearing his blindfold.

The taller figure completely ignored her. He wasn't in the mood to retort with an imaginative and funny answer. He just sighed and walked away from her, so she couldn't annoy him any more than she already had.

She watched him as he walked away. This was concerning, even for her. She preferred not to chase after him to ask what was wrong, as that might make things worse. Instead, she decided to text Shoko about what was happening.

More people noticed Satoru’s unusual demeanor, trying to talk to him, only to be ignored in return. Even Yuji tried to start a conversation about the latest ninja movie he'd watched days ago.

“Did you see Flying Ninjas? The CGI looks so fake!” Yuji exclaimed, showing Gojo a scene from the trailer.

Satoru limited himself to a simple hum and walked a bit faster than the younger boy, as if trying to avoid his company. Yuji was confused by his reaction, as Gojo would never do that to him.

He stopped midway, watching Gojo leave the room where they had been. He began pondering the situation, wondering if maybe he’d said something wrong, or if it could be something else.

“He could be sick. I’m going to the infirmary,” Yuji murmured as he started running toward Shoko’s office.

When he reached the small office, he gently knocked on the door, waiting for Shoko to open it.

“Itadori, what’s wrong? Are you sick again? I told you not to eat spicy nachos,” Shoko said, a hint of disappointment in her voice as she moved to let him in.

“It’s not me! Not this time. It’s Gojo-sensei,” Yuji said, addressing his concerns about Gojo’s behavior as he sat in one of the available chairs, while Shoko sat in hers.

“Hmm, Utahime noticed the same this morning. Can you tell me more about it?” Shoko asked, listening carefully.

After Yuji finished telling her everything he’d observed about Gojo and his strange behavior, she said she would look into it. As soon as he left the room, she called the one person who was close enough to Gojo to know what was going on.

“Hey Geto, something’s going on with your troublemaker. Care to check?” she asked through the phone, hearing a soft sigh on the other side.

“I know what's wrong with him,” Suguru replied tiredly. “He’s upset. He loves kissing me on Valentine’s Day, but due to the rule, we can’t do it until we leave.”

“That makes sense. He loves Valentine’s Day, but can’t celebrate it properly now,” Shoko said, continuing to listen to Suguru’s words.

“I won’t be able to cheer him up. Rules are rules,” Suguru continued, feeling guilty for thinking that way, knowing how Satoru must be feeling.

“I have an idea you could try. You need to convince Yaga. Maybe he can make an exception just for today?” Shoko suggested, relaxing in her chair, knowing the plan might work.

“It will be hard to make him change his mind,” Suguru replied, pondering what to do. “But I’ll try to convince him.”

Suguru and Shoko said their goodbyes, ending the call. The black-haired man left his office and made his way to Yaga’s, where he knew he would be all day.

His steps were fast as he crossed the corridors, both hands clenched. He needed to get approval to remove the rule, so he could cheer his husband up.

Without even knocking, he walked in and went straight to the point, talking about the rule and how Gojo had been feeling. Fortunately, Yaga had noticed Gojo’s behavior as well, and he couldn’t allow him to keep feeling like this. It was affecting his life, even if it was for something as silly as kisses. Everyone knew Gojo was a clingy man after all.

“I’ve heard complaints from students and even some teachers,” Yaga said, massaging his head. He looked tired as he stretched in his chair and slowly stood up to face Suguru. “But you’re right. It’s affecting his performance as a teacher.”

“Do you think you could agree to make an exception just for today?” Suguru asked politely, hoping he’d agree.

“It wouldn’t hurt anyone for just one day,” Yaga said as he walked closer to his desk, typing a few things on his computer. “I’ll make it official right away.”

Even though the teenagers found the constant kissing disgusting, it was unfair to Gojo, who had been behaving well and never broke the rule before. It wouldn’t hurt anyone if he had a little fun on his favorite holiday.

Yaga signed the paper and handed it to Geto. The paper specified that the rule would have a clause allowing kissing on Valentine’s Day, and Yaga would make sure to announce it over the school speakers.

Suguru thanked him and bowed respectfully before leaving Yaga’s office and looking for Satoru to share the good news.

He asked a bunch of teenagers if they knew where Gojo was. They told him he was in the schoolyard, and that he looked deflated.

Suguru nodded after hearing this, and as he walked toward the glass door leading to the schoolyard, he easily spotted Gojo resting on a bench, apparently taking a nap—or rather, faking it.

Suguru made his way over, knowing Satoru would recognize him thanks to his Six Eyes and their shared bond.

“Don’t stand so close to me, I need to resist the urge to kiss you, ugh…” Satoru’s annoyed voice came out just as Suguru approached him.

Suguru sat by his side, gently placing Satoru’s head on his lap. He started caressing his hair, while Satoru leaned into his touch like he was a cute cat.

“I know you’ve been stressed today,” Suguru said softly, continuing to pamper him and kissing his forehead. “That’s why I talked to Yaga about the rule you hate so much.”

“Do you want to know what we agreed on?” he asked, smiling gently.

“If it's going to be something stupid like also prohibiting hugs, I’m gonna…” Satoru grumbled, slowly moving his blindfold to see clearly what Suguru was holding in front of his face. “Huh?”

Suguru smiled softly at him as Satoru took the paper from his hands and read it carefully.

“What does this mean?” Satoru asked, although he knew it meant the rules had changed and he could finally kiss his beloved. He just wanted to ask in case he read it wrong.

“Yaga agreed to allow us to kiss on Valentine’s Day only. We all knew how upset you were, and—” Suguru was suddenly interrupted by his love, who began kissing him with hunger and affection.

Suguru gasped in surprise as Satoru kissed him deeply. He really missed this, and he wasn’t going to miss another minute without his partner for life.

“Sat—” Suguru tried to speak, but his lovely husband kept kissing him.

Suguru knew Satoru needed love after the stress of the day, but he also needed air! He ended up pushing his clingy man away to breathe. If they continued, he might faint from the lack of oxygen.

“Sorry, babe,” Suguru said, looking at Satoru’s pouty face. “I love your kisses, but we should save some for later, right?”

“If you say so!” Satoru dramatically responded as he stood up from the bench. “We should get back to work. I feel more energized now,” he added, looking lovingly at his significant other. “Thanks to you.”

Suguru couldn’t contain his smile any longer as he followed him back into the school to continue their scholarly activities. He knew that later, they would share a romantic evening together.
