Bound By Shadows

Summary:

"Damn, it's cold out. You're lucky you've got fur, ay sweetness?"

I looked up at her at her words and I wowed to myself. She was worried about the cold but I was worried about catching myself drooling for her.

I gave another huff, stopping my tail from wagging as I stared up at the very attractive vampire.

"Well, I should probably head out. It's bad for me to be out in the cold, you know."

She explained and began walking away. I stood up, almost in a silent objection, but she didn't see that, because she had her back turned. Walking to the edge of the roof, they spoke once more.

"And, from one monster to another--don't get hunted, alright?"

And she swiftly hopped off the building, once again expertly traversed the streets.

In a city full of creatures, two unique lesbians of their kind find comfort in each other in this unjust world.

Notes:

hihihellohi, it's spatula :3 Despite the fandom enjoying vampire cait and werewolf vi, i liked the opposite; werewolf cait and vampire vi. The main causes of my attachments to werecait and vampvi were two artists: noctunah on bluesky and UnkownYellingon twitter/x :) They're art of the two lesbians made me fall in love and i had to write this fanfic :3

To know whose POV it'll be, look for these symbols in the title of each chapter:
Vi POV: ✮
Caitlyn POV: ✿
Third Person POV: ꩜
(i use third POV the least fyi)

Mind you, I am a high schooler with a good awful sleep schedule so I apologize in advance for any spelling errors (i'm passing english i swear). As i'm writing this, i have already posted 18 chapters (not including prologue) on wattpad because i'm stuck in my roots.

Please make sure you have watched all of arcane because i do make references and use parts of the og arcane story in here! So fro your own sake, finish the show!!

I don't know how many chapters there'll be as I am kinda just going with the flow but i'll tell you i didn't expect to already be at 18 chapters as of writing this.

I have made a playlist for this au also :3 [sorry to any non spotify listeners :(]:
https://open.spotify.com/playlist/4NX2X4cgqVU2TERJNFjftN?si=K7CruXoBTMKjodFiyedgwA&pi=u-4w6LAYRGR8SR

Also, I couldn't figure out how to properly work the italics :/ I'm new to writing on ao3 and i'm too tired to try and figure it out. Some italics work and some don't so just imagine the italics for me 3

Finally, there will be smut (as u know if u read the tags) I don't plan on it being anything too spicy but it will come EVENTUALLY :)

You get a cookie if you read all of that <3 Thank you and enjoy ! :)

Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

-------------------------------------------------------------ꨄ︎--------------------------------------------------------

Winter was the harshest of seasons; the endless cold and the chilling breeze was wracking all the way down to the bones. It was ruthless, and not for the faint of heart.
The chilling breeze pushed smaller clouds away from the dark, but clear, midnight sky. Every star was visible and countable. You even had a chance of seeing a shooting star, but you would be lucky.

Tonight, December 23rd, was a particularly cold, going down to freezing temperatures by a tenfold. No one was out tonight, unless you were crazy, or homeless. Piltover was known for having harsher winters in late December and early January.

Not only was tonight cold, but the sky was once more visible. The stars were sprinkled all over the sky, like sparkles over a birthday card. However, the stars weren't alone. The moon accompanied them; and it was a full moon.

Piltover's topside streets were empty; the cold was just too unbearable. The cobblestone roads were covered in black ice, making it near impossible to traverse anyway.
It was peaceful, for sure. The lamposts brought a sense of warmth to the empty city as the snow fell softly. Despite how peaceful and seemingly quiet it was, the city wasn't entirely empty.

Atop a tall building in the futuristic city, someone stood. They watched the sky, seeing the shooting stars many wished every night to see pass by; but they weren't here for the stars.

They were here for the moon.

Although the moon seemed to be surrounded by stars, in reality, the moon was all alone. The stars seemed closed, but they were so many light years away.

The moon called out to the individual, not just instinctively, but emotional. They too felt like the moon; surrounded, but alone.

The eyes of the someone closed and they let out a soft, but long, hum that could soothe the heart of any how heard. The moon called, and they answered. When no else called, the moon did, and they wouldn't reject someone's call.
