Work Text:

Evan "Buck" Buckley was well known around the firehouse for speaking without thinking. The A Shift, his team, were more than used to it by now and they rarely batted an eyelid anymore. Although, there was the odd occassion where Buck managed to leave them all speechless, not even realising he had done so. He would spout out a random fact or just make a random comment and then go on as if nothing had ever been said.

Today was one of those days where everyone was left speechless. It was no secret that, after years of being blind and stupid, Buck and Eddie had finally started dating and had been for the past month. They were taking it slow due to Eddie only recently coming to terms with being gay and still finding it hard to talk about it with anyone but Buck. However, he had no problem with making flirty comments towards his boyfriend here and there throughout a shift, much to everyone else's dismay. Especially Bobbys.

Currently, the A shift of the 118 were all sprawled out on various seats around the loft, holding their stomachs and groaning. Chim had asked if he could cook dinner that evening and, for some reason no one could fathom, Bobby had let him.

"Cap, I can't believe you let him cook!" Buck grumbled from where he was curled up in the arm chair. Before they got together he would usually be next to his best friend on the couch but now, while at work, they kept their distance out of respect for their colleagues.

"That's not even the worst part! Bobby, why didn't you check the meat before he served it?! You were meant to supervise him!" Hen aroused, shooting the Captain a mean look.

"I didn't think he would be that bad at cooking. I've never seen him cook before!" Bobby exclaimed, throwing his hands in the air and immediately regretting the movement.

"Hey! I'm right here!" Chim piped up from the other side of the loft where he had been banished to.

"I wish you weren't!" Eddie growled from his fetal position on the couch.

"Rude!"

"Bite me, Han!"

"Our friendship is on the rocks, Chim! I'm not sure I can forgive you for this!" Hen added, shooting a glare his way as well.

"Enough! Can you guys just shut up and let us die in peace!" Ravi whined from the floor where he had decided to settle. "At least Cap took us offline for a few hours."

"You guys are overreacting! It's just a tummy ache. You bunch of babies!" Chim uttered.

"Hen, you have indigestion tablets in the ambulance, right?" Bobby asked hopefully.

"You bet I do but someone else will have to go and get them. I vote Chim!"

"That's unfair!" Chim cried as a chorus of "I agree" came from the rest of the team.

"It's totally fair, Chim! Go!"

They all watched as the man sighed loudly and slowly got up, clutching his stomach as he went. After what felt like ages, Chim finally disappeared down the stairs to get the tablets.

"He needs to hurry up with those tablets. I think it's getting worse!" Eddie spoke up, his voice going up an octave. His stomach gurgled loudly, causing everyone to turn their attention to him. He clenched his cheeks immediately but he was too late.

A loud "pppprrrrbbbbb" sounded throughout the loft, causing everyone to abruptly turn his way with shocked or disgusted expressions. For a few moments, there was completely silence as no one knew what to say. Ravi gagged a little and started to crawl away from the couch.

"That sounds like my size." Buck blurted, his eyes widening as little as he realised he had said it out loud. The team may have been surprised when Eddie had farted but by this, they were utterly speechless.

No one spoke for a few minutes, although they did turn their gaze to Eddie whose cheeks had turned a bright shade of red. Eventually the silence was broken by Chimney appearing at the top of the stairs with a bunch of boxes in his hands.

"Why do you all look like someone just ran over a raccoon?" He asked, a confused look on his face as he scanned each face. "And why is Eddie bright red?"

"Er.... no.... no comment!" Eddie fumbled, doing his best not to make eye contact with anyone.

"I might tell you later if you give us those tablets right now." Hen said, making grabby hands at him.

"Don't you dare, Wilson!" Eddie grumbled, staring daggers at her.

"Don't tell him! He'll tell Maddie and I'll never hear the end of it!" Buck finally piped up, looking sheepish.

"I'd like to erase the last 5 minutes from my brain! Just give us the tablets, Chim." Bobby demanded, holding his hand out expectantly.

Chimney rolled his eyes but swiftly went around handing out the indigestion tablets, getting everyone some water as well and then taking some himself. He wouldn't admit it to anyone but he as soon as he had gone downstairs he had snuck to the showers to let rip and was feeling a bit better.

A few hours later the team were mostly back to normal and back online, heading to their first call in hours.

Buck stepped into the shower room as most people were leaving, having volunteered to sort out the gear.  He slunk into a cubicle and hung up his towel before turning the shower on and groaning in satisfaction as the hot water hit his skin.

His stomach was still feeling a little funny and he had been holding in a fart for most of the call. He listened out for signs of life and was relieved to hear one other shower running, meaning no one would hear him. He tensed a little and let out a string of farts, the feeling in his stomach finally going away. He didn't notice the other shower turning off.

"Now that definitely sounds like my size!"

Buck yelped, jumping a little at the sound of his boyfriends voice. He turned to see the mans head poking around the curtain, a smirk on his handsome face as his eyes trailed down Bucks body.

"Jeez, Eds. Is this your way of saying you're ready?" He asked hopefully, the surprise quickly wearing off.

Eddie made a pondering face for a moment before replying. "Maybe. We'll see."

"You're such a tease, Diaz! Let me shower in peace!"

Eddie chuckled and disappeared. "See you at home?"

"Yeah, see you at home."
