Liam knows when things are wrong: When Theo has nightmares, when he has a glaze over his eyes, when his scent is distasteful and bitter. He knows. They don’t say much to each other, but it's there. It’s laid out in the open and nothing happens because neither of them understand. They don't understand what to do with the smoke congesting the air. It’s thick and heavy and the windows are locked. It’s like there's broken glass on the floor and not a damn thing to clean it up with. There's no way to step around it--there's no way to ignore it either. It’s a wound that bleeds inside and out, that clouds Theo’s vision until something or another distracts him from it again.They both look at this problem with the same thought. (It’s your turn.
