When Reiner Braun closed his eyes he liked to imagine himself in the sea, floating along the waves, drowning under the crush of saltwater beneath the surf. As he plunged further into the depths of his fantasy, he liked to imagine never resurfacing. That was until Faye Yeager fell into his arms in a crowded Marleyan market on the way home from the docks.
Marcel Galliard was dead. They buried an empty coffin with a neatly pressed adult-sized uniform on a Tuesday.
