Chapter Text
That day, Thame was waiting for Po in his apartment. Po had given him a key since he moved in, months ago. It was, actually, kind of their apartment now. And just thinking about the late nights together, the cuddles they shared on the couch and in bed, made Thame smile fondly. Po had sent him a text explaining he would be late, so Thame made dinner in the meantime.
But now, he was bored. All alone, without his boyfriend to snuggle close to, his thoughts began to wander.
He grabbed a pen and a blank paper that was stuck under a book on the table, played with the pen between his fingers, searching for inspiration. Sometimes, writing lyrics for MARS’ songs helped him focus and pass time.
But that night, the source and recipient of his inspiration was something else.
With a flick of his fingers, he started to write.

i hope you can feel how close to my heart i keep you
i never want to let you go
and i never will.
you entered my life when i least expected it
and now i can’t picture it without you.
you taught me resilience,
you taught me patience,
you taught me love,
and i want to repay you tenfold for these lessons that helped me grow
so i offer you my life, my heart and everything i have.
because nothing i own could possibly match the greatest gift you've given me:
the happiness to know i always come home to you.
no one can measure the impact you have on me,
but if i had to make a metaphor i'd say:
you are the big bang that created the universe and everything that followed,
you are the origin of all things,
you infused in me the life i didn’t know i needed.

Before Thame could write another line, he heard the door opening and Po entering the apartment. Thame quickly folded the paper and hid it in his pocket, before standing up to greet his boyfriend. Po seemed tired but smiled when Thame wrapped him with his arms and hugged him.
"I missed you, P'Po."
"I missed you too, Thame", smiled Po in the embrace.
