Chapter 1: Chapter I

Chapter Text

Even after Shadow Milk Cookie had fled and disregarded Pure Vanilla’s offer, he stood resolute that Shadow Milk was not beyond redemption. Holding his hand against his chest, and against his Soul Jam of Truth, he knew that if he ought to do anything, it was this.

But nothing can be done efficiently on a tired and weary mind, as he had told the others, so he supposed he should start taking his own advice. And with that, he pulled the blanket over his head, the warm light of the Vanilla Kingdom a comfort he long missed.

Yet within his dreams, the cookie knew neither peace nor calm, instead met with the familiar darkness and blue eyes, before they swirled together rapidly, leaving only a dark and starry sky. Pure Vanilla clutched his staff, left with no choice but to follow the illuminated star path before him.

An unfamiliar voice called out to him. “You seek to redeem that Beast of Deceit, do you not?” And the cookie responded, without hesitation, “I do, for it is my duty as the bearer of the Light of Truth.” No voice responded, but Pure Vanilla could sense its presence and agreement, and felt the ground cave beneath him, falling through the sea of stars that rushed in his vision. It was not soon after that his surroundings changed, and he found himself caught in a sea of milk.
