I can smile as well
They say, I spend way too much time in my own smart head.
They say, I am not as social as that, but also, that all my emotions and feelings are strung inside of me, tighter than the cord of a trapeze act.
They say, my face, never changes its perma-state. Even if sometimes, I might, just might, hesitate.
As unusual as that might be though, I do have some doubts. Thinking back to what might have worked better, what I could have done to right the wrongs, to have been, well, more strong.
Alas, those things aren’t really as bad as the very notion of those who do not really know me all too well at least. The new people, whom we along this road do meet.
The statement of me never smiling though?
Well, that is a total, complete and utter lie so very low!
As I do indeed do that thing. The smiling thing. I have even practised it, in front of a mirror no less! The muscles on my face working just fine and yes, forming that… guess… smile?
My Batch did complain in the very beginning of the exact same thing. But then they realised I was different too, like them. And so, perhaps smiling wasn’t on the top of the list of things to do?
But there were moments when some giggles were coming out from me. That is, when I was a very small kid.
Only my brothers knew how to elicit those. And it was all good. Back then, when I was just an itty bitty child none too wild.
Now?
Well, there are people and things which can make me smile, even laugh.
Granted it is a rare occasion. But when the right moment comes along, I will let my hair hang low as they say. And yes, in that moment, a giggle or two will be thrown in there too, even if the emergence might be, slightly slow.
It really doesn’t take that much simply the right moment, the right company and a spell of fun. And then, the smiling is out there, without any qualms, not on my part!
