Work Text:
Flowers. Everywhere Penelope goes, little blue flowers. How ironic. Of course they had to be blue, what else? Bridgerton blue. As if she wasn't already inextricably linked to this family.
Of course it had to be forget-me-nots. As if she could ever forget him.
She has been carrying him around with her forever, he is always there.
In her thoughts.
In her heart.
In her soul.
He is everywhere.
Her complete self exists only with him and on some days she feels as if she only exists through him.
She has tried to forget him, she really has.
Distractions of every unimaginable kind, even hypnosis. She thought if nicotine addiction can be cured with hypnosis, then maybe Colin addiction, too?
But love is love is love....
She breathes him in and out. Every day, month, year.
And now she coughs him up in the form of hundreds, thousands of little blue flowers. They are in her hair, on her skin and all around her.
“Pen?” She turns to him. He is so close that she can feel his warmth. “What is that all?” She looks up at him with a sigh. “They represent unrequited love.” Colin looks at her blankly as he plucks a flower from her hair. “Who wouldn't love you? That's impossible.”
The sea of flowers turns into a sea of lights that begin to dance around them while they kiss.
