Homeworld was ruled by diamonds.
The biggest diamond was White, she ruled over all.
Homeworld was well off as far as planets go.
But they weren't content with only being on that planet.
But as they reached out and conquered every planet, they drained the life and resources, ruining things for the natives that lived there.
Diamonds knew to rule.
Diamonds knew to expand.
But two diamonds, were different.
One was Red Diamond and one was Pink Diamond.
They had their colonies, but they didn't like the way it looked.
So the two of them decided they were going to try and stop the next colony.
A colony made on a planet called earth.
With help from newly emerged Green Sapphire, Yellow Peridot, and Blue Quartz, they tried to stop the homeworld's army.
But the three gems were quite literally only a day old, despite having access to their powers.
So they weren't good at what they did.
Red saw Green Sapphire cornered and about to be shattered.
He knew he had to do something.
So he dove forward and instead of shattering the little sapphire, the fused rubies shattered him.
They were horrified and evacuated back to homeworld because White would be furious that a diamond was shattered, even a rebellious one.
Pink Diamond saved the three gems.
She settled in a nice home and took the earth name Alma.
Green Sapphire knew that she refused to look at him, maybe blaming him for Red being shattered.
But he found his niche, the rats of earth were some of his favorite creatures.
He chose an earth name as well, only thanks to pressure from Yellow Peridot and Blue Quartz, calling himself Bruno.
Yellow Peridot called herself Pepa.
And Blue Quartz called herself Julieta.
Their little exciled colony grew.
two gems emerged from the earth's kindergarten that hadn't been swept back to homeworld when they all left after shattering red.
a Rose Quartz and a Pearl.
Pepa and Julieta lead them to their home.
Rose Quartz chose the earth name Isabela and Pearl chose the name Dolores.
A Blue Jasper came to earth to try and scout out how the rebels were doing but Julieta saw a gem that needed care so she took her in.
There was some resistance until Blue Jasper accepted their family and chose the name Luisa.
Pepa was walking when she saw a presence at the kidnergarten. Way way too late.
It was a yellow amethyst that was deep cut.
She took him in, and he chose the name Camilo, bringing a smile to every gem that was there.
And their family seemed to be a good size.
Until five hundred years later.
A father, a daughter, and a family friend, all human, were running from danger.
Humans caused danger to other humans.
And while Alma would have preferred the humans not know they were there, Julieta and Pepa could not stay by and idly watch this.
They saved them.
And they took them in.
Alma was distrusting.
But Agustin, the widowed father, quickly won the heart of Julieta.
And Felix, the family friend, quickly melted Pepa's heart.
Mirabel, the young daughter, soon became every gem's favorite person.
Bruno had never heard of humans mingling with gems and it concerned him a little bit.
So he had a vision.
Nobody knew what he saw.
They knew he was nowhere to be found the next day.
