Sonic has developed a complicated relationship with water. He's never been able to swim, but that doesn't stop him from seeking out new adventures to enjoy.
Sonic had become a renowned navy captain in recent years for his ability to hunt down pirates who plagued ocean commerce.
Until now, he considered most pirates to be quite predictable, but Sonic always loved hunting them down; it felt like an adventure. He proudly recalled how he concluded his hunt for Captain Knuckles after weeks of extensive research that had yielded results.
But there was someone whose name has been mentioned since Sonic was a rookie and who he has a particular fascination with capturing. Rumors call him 'Captain Shadow, the ultimate life form.' Sonic still doesn't understand why he had this feeling of fascination with this mysterious pirate, but what better way to see for himself who he really is.
He interrogated all the pirates he hunted looking for more information about Captain Shadow, the dark hedgehog was apparently looking for the Chaos Emeralds but no one knew the reason behind it. Sonic wondered if he also had the ability to transform into super form like him, the Navy preferred to hide all the occasions in which Sonic became super because of how particularly violent he is but they leave Sonic without consequences because it is the pirates who have suffered the greatest consequences, those red spiral eyes are present in the nightmares of many pirates.
When he figured out what bait he could use to capture his prey, he personally took charge of obtaining each one and leaving them in key locations. There was nothing more fun than watching your prey being tricked into thinking they had some advantage or control over the situation.
His prey had so far obtained 5 of the emeralds, ideal time for his hunt, nothing more fun than seeing them with false hope for the great act of reality check, however Sonic's thoughts were interrupted for a moment by the arrival of his best friend, Tails.
“Are you sure this is a good idea, Sonic?” Tails asked, doubting Sonic’s methods. “Pirates, at the end of the day, are very dangerous criminals, and it seems that Captain Shadow is a very fearsome criminal. Giving him that much of an advantage is too risky.”
"I understand your concern Tails but everything will be okay, all pirates are very greedy once they feel they are close to getting their treasure they let their guard down and that's when it's the right time, also if the situation gets out of control he could always go into super form" said Sonic smiling in a friendly way stroking Tails' head, Tails remained silent and broke into a cold sweat remembering the last time he witnessed Super Sonic.
Sonic could hear Lieutenant Amy's footsteps entering the room. "Captain, the ultimate life form is here. We need reinforcements.”
Sonic's smile changes to a wilder one that makes Tails a little nervous since he has felt that something changed after his first transformation into a super.
Sonic ran toward the trap he had set, and there he was, his most prized prey.
The dark hedgehog fought fiercely against the members of the Navy, and Sonic was able to observe with his own eyes their skill with innate chaos energy.

Shadow used the Chaos Spear against several members of the Navy, taking advantage of his speed to take control of the situation, but he was interrupted when he saw a blue blur and felt a punch in the back. Shadow tried to refocus after the blow, looking at his attacker, who was none other than that blue hedgehog that he would have liked not to see yet.
“Isn't this the legendary captain shadow? After all those years I've got the chance to meet you” said the blue Hedgehog approaching Shadow, he took his face with his hand “All the wanted posters really weren't enough to depict your beauty. “It would be lovely to have my office decorated with it”
Shadow responded by spitting in the face of this painfully familiar-looking jerk. “Put your filthy hand off me, scum,” Shadow said.
At those words, sounding so daring to say that to someone who had taken down so many pirates like it was a game still showed a determination and bravery that Sonic hadn't witnessed before which made him start laughing maniacally.
Shadow realizes he's just made a grave mistake. This unhinged hedgehog is much worse than he thought. Shadow can feel his heart wrench even more as he forces himself to take a casual breath, keeping himself calm. This unhinged hedgehog will only get worse if he shows any kind of weakness. He won't give him the pleasure of seeing him fall!
“You are lovely!” Sonic exclaimed euphorically. He grabbed Shadow’s face again and grinned from ear to ear. Oh Chaos, he wanted to break him so badly; he needed to make him his.
“Take your hands off me, psycho!” Shadow said as he tried to get away from him. Shadow wasn’t one to shy away from danger, but this situation was beyond him like never before.
Sonic decided to use a little trick against Shadow's chaos energy and he felt his consciousness fade and he saw black.

Shadow listened to the sound of the ocean and watched the seagulls fly across the sky. Everyone in the tribulation was fine, and he felt quite peaceful.
"Captain Shadow, look at this view!" said a very cheerful voice.
Shadow smiled at the blue hedgehog and approached him. They saw an island with a large forest in the distance.
"Do you think the Chaos Emerald is on that island? From here, the island looks quite impressive. It's sure to be very exciting!" said the blue hedgehog, very excited and playful.
Shadow felt nostalgic and took the blue hedgehog's hand, who smiled at the gesture. Shadow didn't like admitting that this was a recurring memory, moments before his world was stolen and replaced by a complete stranger who saw him as prey.

Sonic watched Shadow sleep after being knocked unconscious. Sonic thought he looked too cute.
The fun was just beginning for him.
