Li'l Petey was excited. Today, him and Papa were going out for a fun day in town. He quickly made his bed and ran to the bathroom to brush his teeth. Once he was done, he ran down the stairs to the kitchen. "Papa, Papa!" he cried when he saw his dad. "Hey, kiddo," Petey replied, eyes twinkling with love as he watched his kid bounce up and down in excitement. "What do you want to eat?" he asked. "Pancakes!" Li'l Petey answered enthusiastically. "Let's make some pancakes then," Petey said as he got out the ingredients. They spent the next fifteen minutes making the pancakes together, adding toppings like strawberries and little pieces of chocolate. Petey put the pancakes on a plate and served both of them. Both cats ate the pancakes eagerly, excited to have lots of fun that day.
"Wipe your mouth, buddy," Petey said, handing his son a napkin. They had just finished breakfast and would be ready to go soon. Li'l Petey wiped his face and put his plate in the sink. He washed the syrup off his hands and ran over to his Papa, who was waiting by the door. They walked out of the lab and headed to the car, Petey locking the door on the way. Petey started the engine and drove to the park. They stepped out of the car, ready to officially begin the day.
"What do you want to do, buddy?" Petey asked his son. "I want to go birdwatching!" Li'l Petey answered enthusiastically. "Alright buddy, let's go birdwatching," Petey replied as they walked over to the birdwatching stations. They saw lots of birds, like cranes and pelicans, and even a red cardinal here and there. "Look Papa! There's a bluejay!" Li'l Petey exclaimed. "I see it, there's a cardinal on your left," his Papa replied, turning the binoculars. The two cats soon finished birdwatching and walked over to the nearby ice cream parlor.
"I want a strawberry ice cream!" Li'l Petey said excitedly. "One strawberry and one mint," Petey said to the person running the ice cream parlor. "Do you want those in cups or cones?" she asked politely. "Cones please," Petey replied. "Coming right up!" she said as she made their ice creams. The lady gave them the ice cream and Petey paid her accordingly. They sat on a bench to eat it. "Hey kiddo," Petey asked. "Do you want to go to the arcade after this?" "That would be awesome!" Li'l Petey answered, his face shining with excitement. "Then we can go home and watch a movie afterwards!"
They hopped in the car once they finished their ice cream and drove to the arcade. They played air hockey, Flappy Bird, Mario, and all sorts of games together. Petey let his son win in their gaming competition before they drove home. Petey had cooked salmon and rice for dinner, and Li'l Petey had fish 'n chips. After dinner, they sat on the couch to watch a movie. "What movie do you want to watch?" Petey asked. "Let's watch Robin Hood!" Li'l Petey answered. Petey played the movie, and soon they were both fast asleep.
It was a great day.
