Summary
Shane is a competitive birder, and he's trying to record sightings of as many bird species as possible within a year. With the help of an online alert tool, he's on track to be at the top of his state list, but soon finds himself in a one-sided war with the mysterious user Rozanov81, who somehow manages to find (and photograph!) all the rare birds before Shane can even check his notifications.
When Shane finally gets a chance to beat him to the punch, a storm of events unfold to bring him closer than ever to Rozanov81—the hot fellow birder he realizes he'd already met several weeks earlier.

“Ah yes, like stupid Canadian wolf bird?” Ilya teases, leaning on his hand and grinning. Hollander rolls his eyes like he’s annoyed, but there’s a fond little smile on his face.
“Yes, actually. Though the Loon is only one bird in the area. Since we’re so isolated out here, there’s a lot more variety in the wildlife,” Shane explains, putting his binoculars down…

Shane est recruté comme volontaire pour trois mois de prospection dans cet autre monde, l'isolement total.
Il ne sait pas encore que ce choix va changer sa vie - et que tout là-bas un homme taciturne, meurtri, Ilya Rozanov, va devenir son point fixe.

When that doesn’t work she clears her throat, and Maya finally seems to realize she’s not alone. She leaps to her feet, but instead of the wary expression most people put on when talking to the fearsome prosecutor, her eyes sparkle and her hands flap around in unbridled joy.
