Chapter Text
It was the night after the Heartbreaker had commenced.
All teachers were still in their uniforms, including the eye patch. They had been doing some rapid-fire meetings on what to do about the breach. It had been exhausting.
Kalego really just wanted to go home after the day's events. He was sure most of the teachers did so too, though nobody dared to speak up.
At that moment, around midnight, Dali called all of the teachers who had participated in the Heartbreaker to his office.
-
This couldn't be good.
Dali only summoned all the teachers at once (or well, most of the staff) in three situations.
1) They had all messed up in the worst way possible
2) There was an emergency
3) He had a horrifying honest-to-devil idea
The first option, though unlikely considering the events of today, was slightly possible that his boss was really mad. Oswell had gotten thrown into a wall earlier for leaving a balloon, and that didn't even consider the...
The faint silhouette of Cerberus flashed in the air for a brief moment.
If Dali was furious (during the Heartbreaker, he hadn't been furious, he had been calm. Now Kalego wasn't so sure), they really were all screwed. Very few things made him scared; but two of them were Dali and Opera.
The second was highly, highly unlikely. They just had a breach today, and Poro hadn't picked a fight. An ambush now was unlikely; what would ambush the school when all the teachers were on high edge and there were no students around? That demon would have to be extremely out of loop; Kalego almost (emphasize almost) felt sorry for said demon as he knew that right now, there was a couple of teachers highly stressed, and another intruder would probably trigger their wicked phases.
One teacher at Babyls with a wicked phase was already scary in its own right. Several and all with a perfect stress ball?
It isn't going to end very well for the intruder.
Now, the third option was unlikely too. What boss in their right mind would have an idea while the school was having an existential crisis? Dali's idea in particular was sometimes ridiculous and silly, but right now was not really the time for it.
Kalego was knocked out of his thoughts as Dali spoke.
"You guys are going on a work trip."
He blinked.
"A field trip, really."
His boss was officially insane.
"But sir!" Ifrit protested. "There's just been a security breach-"
Dali just smiled. "It is a training of sorts too."
The others started clamouring, with only Robin looking excited. "Where?" the green-haired goblin asked.
Dali's smile grew wider.
"The Human World."
Now before the teachers could digest those words, Dali pressed a button he produced out of his drawer and pressed it.
-
Several things happened.
Firstly, Dali had failed to take Orias's ability into account.
Said blonde teacher's ability had waned significantly, but at the last moment he tripped and fell right off of the carpet.
He wasn't the only one that tumbled backwards. Momonoki was behind him and had gotten bowled off of the carpet with him.
Secondly, this caused a chain of the teachers tripping and tumbling over themselves, which didn't work out well because Ifrit had forgotten to put his tail out. His fiery tail lashed dangerously in the air, and one of them hovered near Stolas. Stolas yelped and a couple flowers bloomed on the carpet.
And that caused Kalego to be furious and summon Cerberus, but Robin got in the way, as he tackled Marbas. Cerberus hit Marbas instead, and he was now laying on the ground after being tackled and looked half-dead.
Both Murmur and Ipos looked like they just wanted to stay out of it but were unfortunately dragged in as Marbas held on to somebody's leg and now refused to let go. That 'someone' happened to be Murmur. Murmur shrieked and also fell down, but on the carpet, while Ipos rushed over but also tripped on the damn carpet. Buer also freaked out as she attempted to not fall over everybody else.
Then the carpet shone red, and with a flash, they were gone.
Leaving only Orias and Momonoki behind, both them and Dali blinking bewilderingly.
