“Ekko!” Powder yelled, running up to him. “Look what I found.”
He peered at the writhing spider in her hand.
“Woah, that’s a big one,” he said.
“I know,” Powder said proudly. “I’m going to eat it.”
“Okay.”
“Bet you don’t think I’ll do it.”
“Nope, I definitely think you’ll do it.”
Powder dangled the spider above her mouth.
“I’m going to do it. Just watch me.”
She glanced over to see if he was watching and lost her grip on the spider. The hairy thing fell on her face, drawing screams from Powder and laughter from Ekko. She swatted it off of her, and it scuttled away. Powder gave Ekko an even glare of annoyance.
“I’ll find a bigger spider, and then I’ll eat that. Just you wait.”
“How about we eat some food?” Ekko suggested. “Dinner will be almost ready soon. I don’t want Benzo to yell at me again.”
“Nope,” Powder said firmly, grabbing his arm. “We’re not eating anything until I find a bigger spider. Come on, Little Man.”
Ekko sighed, but he followed, and the two children disappeared into the depths of Zaun.
