Tighnari was nestled deep into Cyno’s warm and loving embrace, his eyelids heavy with the pull of slumber. His fluffy ears drooped lazily, the soft fur tickling against Cyno’s cheek, increased when the fox would nuzzle his head against the general.
Cyno’s heart melted at the sight, never one to waste such a rare moment and a tender smile spread across his face. His fingers carded through Tighnari’s silky locks, and he relished the way the strands flowed between his fingers.
His hands then travelled up to Tighnari’s droopy ear, rubbing and massaging the velvety fur with a touch that was feather-light. Tighnari let out a contented sigh, his body melting against Cyno as he surrendered to the soothing caresses.
The forest ranger’s head began to nuzzle against Cyno’s once again, the heavy weight of the sleepy fox almost knocking Cyno off balance. Cyno chuckled and while he had access, he let his fingers playfully tickle under Tighnari’s chin.
“Cynooo,” Tighnari whined as a burst of breathy giggles was coaxed from him. He began to violently nuzzle further against Cyno, sending them both crashing down onto the bed. The general laughed.
“Come here,” Cyno guided Tighnari so that he laid beside him, his head gently hitting the pillows. Tighnari gave a disappointed pout up at him, missing the embrace and close contact. He tried to wrap his arms around him again, but his needy effort was halted. “Don’t move, I want to rub your tummy.”
Tighnari gazed up at him through half-lidded eyes, glimmering with adoration and trust as he allowed the general to lift his night shirt, revealing the smooth yet chiselled stomach. Cyno ran his palm over the skin, sending a shiver of goosebumps across it, then used his fingers to trace soothing circles and patterns across Tighnari’s tummy.
It tickled at first, like it always did, the cute twitch of Tighnari’s ears and tail giving it away. But eventually the fox started purring, a sound that rumbled from his chest and was as sweet as honey to Cyno’s ears.
Barely a minute had passed before the fox drifted off to the realm of dreams, peaceful and cherished next to his beloved.
Cyno smiled and leaned down to press a kiss to Tighnari’s temple. “Sleep well, Tighnari.”
