It's a nice sunny day in the town of Elmore, and Gumball's arriving to Penny's house, planning to give her a memorable date! He brought a bouquet of flowers that he bought yesterday to give to her. And bingo, definitely it's her favorite type of flower! Gumball look at the bouquet of flowers as he thought in his mind.
"Mmm... Definitely she'll love it!"
Then Gumball finally arrives at Penny's house as he knocks on the door, with a bouquet of her favorite flowers.
Seconds later, Penny opened the door as she saw Gumball.
Penny: "Oh hi Gumball, you're here!"
Gumball: *says with a friendly smile, as he gives her the bouquet* "Hey there, Penny. I brought you the flowers I promised you".
As Gumball shows the flowers to Penny, she smelled it and felt satisfied.
Penny: "Wow, that smells so good, Gumball. I love it".
Gumball giggles and blushes. He was happy that she's happy.
Gumball: "Heh, I knew you'd like it. I remembered about your favorite flower, so I bought it for you."
Penny: "That proves that you understand me very well, Gumball!"
Gumball: *smiles* "Heh. Well of course! I've been paying attention to what you like or hate. It's the little things that matter the most, you know?"
Penny: *nods* "So shall we going somewhere? Just the two of us?"
Gumball: *response* "Yes, we shall. Where do you wanna go? Just tell me and I'll make sure it'll be memorable, Penny."
Penny: "Let's go to the mall first! There's a new sundae flavor in the ice cream shop there!"
Gumball got surprised as he holds her hand and walking with her.
Gumball: "A new sundae flavor? Say no more! Let's go there now!"
Later, Gumball and Penny have arrived at the ice cream shop in the mall. Gumball's holding Penny's hand gently as they walk into the ice cream shop.
Then they randomly choose a table to take a seat at, as Gumball's gently pull off a chair to invite his girlfriend to take a seat first.
Gumball: *winks* "Ladies first!"
Which made Penny giggles and blushes.
Penny: "Thanks Gumball!"
Gumball: "You're welcome, Penny!"
He smiles as he sits next to her. In front of them were already has 2 menu books. Gumball looks at the menu. He really wants to know what this new sundae flavor tastes like. After a while, he looks up.
Gumball: "Hmm, I wonder what kind of sundae flavor is it? It could be chocolate, vanilla or strawberry. Or even multiple flavors in one! Either way, sounds delicious!"
Penny: *Points At The Flavor* "Here it is! The special minty one!"
Minty? Gumball has never really had that flavor. But it does have a good ring to it, so... What's the harm in trying?
Gumball: "Alright, let's order it then!"
A few minutes later, Gumball and Penny finally received their sundaes. Gumball picks up his spoon and looks at his sundae.
Gumball: "...Hm, well, here goes nothing!"
He closes his eyes as he took a bite of his sundae, wondering how it tastes.
Gumball: "...Mm... Wow. This is... Different! It's.. It's actually good! Dang..."
By the same time, his girlfriend Penny has also took a bite of her sundae as her eyes lighting up.
Penny: "Wow. It's so refreshing..."
Gumball: *responds with a half-laugh* "Well, alright, you weren't wrong. This sundae flavor is pretty good! Way better than I thought! But, the original flavors are still superior though! Like chocolate..."
Penny: *giggles* "Yeah... I suppose that your taste are better than before now, Gumball".
Gumball: *blushes a little* "Aww, thanks Penny! Well, at least you know I'm not into mint that much. You know, not every person likes the same thing right? We're all unique!"
Penny: "I know, Gumball. But there's no one who'd understand me better than you did..."
A smile formed on Gumball's face, his mood slightly lifted! He's glad he found the one who understands him and loves him for who he is.
Gumball: "Yeah, I'm happy you're my girlfriend now. I never had a girlfriend before, but I really love the feeling of being with someone who truly understands..."
Penny: "Me too, Gumball. Me too."
Gumball blushed more, he loves how understanding his girlfriend is. He feels like himself is the luckiest person in the world to have such an amazing girlfriend like Penny!
A few minutes passed as they both finished their sundaes.
Gumball: "Phew. I have to admit, that this mint flavor of sundae is actually quite good! Of course it's not the best one for me but still, tasting very good! What about you, Penny? How does it taste?"
Penny: *smiles as she speaks* "It's very divine for me as well! Can we order this again next time, Gumball?"
Gumball: *nods* "Sure! Anything for my beautiful fairy GF!"
Penny: *giggles* "Thanks!"
Gumball: "Phew, this date's going good so far! Whatchu wanna do next after this, Penny?"
Penny: "How about a walk in the park?"
Hmm... sounds very ideal to Gumball. After all, he loved spending time with his girlfriend.
Gumball: "Heh, sure Penny! Let's go there then!"
He smiles as they both stands up from their seats. Gumball reaches his hand out to Penny as they both walking out of the ice cream shop.
Penny: "Wait, have we paid for the sundae?"
Gumball: *nods* "Yup. I paid for it."
Penny: "Great! Let's go!"
They holds each others hand as they walks out of the mall and started walking towards the park.
20 minutes later and they're finally at the park, it's nice and quiet. Nature at its finest: Birds chirping, butterflies, some people sitting down on the grass.
Gumball smiled as he, along with his girlfriend, are witnessing the loving and peaceful scene of the park.
Gumball: "Ah, the park. It always been a nice place to relax..."
Penny: "Yeah..."
Then Penny spotted an empty chair.
Penny: "Oh, there's a chair over there! Let's take a seat!"
Gumball: "Yeah let's go there!"
He said as he walked to the chair to take a sit. He's taking the opportunity to be a gentleman as he's leading Penny to her seat on the chair.
Gumball: "After you, m'lady~"
This made Penny blushes and giggles as she's sitting down on the chair. And Gumball also sits down next to her. Gumball smirks a little as he leaned his back against the chair.
Gumball: "Mm, this is nice! The park is always such a nice place!"
Penny: "Yeah, and the scene is so nice and romantic today!"
Gumball: "Yeah! Birds chirping, butterflies flying around,... Pretty beautiful..."
As they're enjoying their alone moments together, Gumball believed that this is going to be a one peaceful romantic date in the park. Then suddenly, his girlfriend asks him.
Penny: "Gumball?"
Gumball: "Yes, Penny?"
Penny: "Since we're relaxing here, why not having a conversation together?"
Gumball: *smiled as he sits up properly* "Of course! Yeah, I wanna have a conversation. Whatcha wanna chat about?"
Penny: *gives a relieved sigh as she speaks* "It's been a while since we'd ended up being a thing, right?"
Gumball: "Yeah! Oh man, you would not believe how fast times flies, Penny! It's like I'd only met you for the first time yesterday!"
Penny: "Yeah. It's been such an amazing adventure for us! And I wouldn't want to trade it for anything else..."
Gumball: "Of course! And to think, you're the first person I ever wanted to be more than friends with..."
He said as he reached for her hand and gently held it, intertwining his fingers with hers
Gumball: "You're the first to make me feel like this..."
This made Penny blushes as she continued speaking.
Penny: "And the moment that made me officially believed that you would be a perfect boyfriend for me... was the moment when you comforted and encouraged me to come out of my shell and be myself..."
Gumball blushed a little as he rubs her hand. He remembered that moment clear that day. He knew how afraid and upset she was, and he's glad to have made her happy and comfortable. He leans to her a little as he smiles.
Gumball: "Oh man, I remembered every moments of it! When I bumped on your forehead at school, causing a scar on it... Then your dad found out and started being overprotective on you and yelling at me, abandoned me from seeing you... And when I encouraged you to come out of your shell like that, you'd afraid that I would hate your new appearance, so you'd shapeshifted into a dragon then flew away to the wood. I'm just glad that I was be able to find you inside the wood and be there to comfort you and accept your new look."
Penny: "Wow, I can't believe you remembered it so well! And yes, sometimes my dad can be very overprotective and didn't shows any approvement towards you. But now he's been more tolerable! Especially after your improvement recently..."
Gumball nodded, remembering that Penny's dad was very overprotective and intimidating with him. But now, he's pretty chill at least!
Gumball: "Yeah, I also have noticed that he's been more lenient than before. I'm just glad that your dad is opening up more to me now."
Penny: "Yeah..."
They looked up the sky as they sat in the chair silently for a few moments. This romantic moment made Gumball had a content smile on his face, glad to be with his beautiful girlfriend. He loved quiet moments like this. Then he looked over to Penny and noticed that she's letting out a sigh.
Gumball: "Hm? What's wrong, Penny? Did something bothering you again?"
Penny: "No, everything's fine Gumball! It's just that I just want that Tobias guy to stop flirting with me... I mean I already have you as my perfect and unreplaceable boyfriend to me now! And I wouldn't want to trade it for someone else..."
Her response made Gumball's smile goes wider. He's happy that she's comfortable with it! He blushes as he held her hand tighter. But he also got quite annoyed when his girlfriend brought up the fact that Tobias's still trying to steal her away from him!
Gumball: "Ugh, that's just who he is, you know?! Never change. And yeah, I also can't stand the fact that Tobias's still trying to pull you to his side like that! So remind me to teach him a lesson if he tries flirting with you again, ok?"
Penny: *blushes* "Thanks Gumball! I know you will! There's no one whom I'd rather spend times with besides you..."
Gumball gently squeezes Penny's hand as he smiles warmly. He blushes a bit more, her words were starting to make him a little soft. He loves this, his girlfriend being so vulnerable is adorable! And he loves being affectionate too!
Gumball: "Yeah, it's just gonna be you and me forever! No one else is gonna come in between us!"
Penny: *giggles* "Yeah. But I bet Darwin's gonna be jealous if he heard this. You and him are still best brothers, you know?"
Gumball gave a slight laugh as he rubbed his hair.
Gumball: "Yeah, I'll still love my bro Darwin with all my heart. He's not only just a little brother to me, he's also my best friend and I'm glad I have him in my life! He's the only person who'd stuck with me most of the times after all! But that's not gonna change anything for you and me!"
Penny: "Yeah. And I'm so glad that you've been improving yourself so far..."
Gumball: *blushes as he smiles* "Hehe, well of course! I want to always be the best for you! I promised that to myself, and the day that I stopped is the day I stop breathing!"
It felt so nice for Gumball to be reminded that he was improving! He knew how far he'd gotten, especially when he used to act like a jerk, an idiot back before. It's clear that he feels proud of himself after a long way he'd gone!
Penny: *giggles* "Now that's a determination right here, Gummy!"
Gumball blushes as his girlfriend's nickname for him. He loved it when she calls him 'Gummy', it's cute to him. He leans in slightly to her and smiled affectionately.
Gumball: "Thanks Penny! When it comes to you, I'm not gonna give anything less. I wanna be the best I can be for you, always!"
Penny: "I know you will, Gumball. I also remembered that back then you used to act like a jerk and got me upset over you most of the times. But now you're really improved! I meant it! A real smart and talented boyfriend for me..."
Gumball: "Really? Did you really mean that?"
Penny nodded. Which made Gumball feel proud again! There's absolutely no way he would deny it, he was a damn jerk to a lot of people in his life back in the past! Penny included, which he had to admit, hurt! But he'd learned his lessons for good. However, his face looks a bit regretful as he got reminded to his past with bunch of mistakes towards everyone, including his girlfriend.
Gumball: "Thanks Penny! I know that I can't be perfect all the times... I'm genuinely sorry for upsetting you so much before.. I'm glad that I'm a better person now, and especially, a better boyfriend to you..."
Penny: "And I'm so glad to you too, Gummy!"
Gumball nods as he gives Penny a gentle smile. He gently squeezes her hand, feeling a sense of relief to know that she doesn't hold anything against him
Gumball: "I love you so much, Penny..."
Penny: "And I love you too, my sweet BF..."
Gumball blushes as he continues to smile. He just stares at her eyes for a bit before letting go of her hand. Instead, he wrapped his arm around her waist, bringing her closer to him as he's hugging her tightly. Gumball really loved cuddling with his girlfriend. Just being close like this to the one he loves. He kisses her cheeks gently as he keeps his arm around her waist, keeping her close. It's nice! So peaceful and lovely that Gumball's letting out a slight purr! Which made Penny surprised as she gasps lightly.
Penny: "Wow, that purr was gorgeous, Gumball! I Love It..."
Gumball: *blushes more as he's giggling a little* "You... You liked it? Heh, I'm glad! I felt really happy at the moment, so I purred. And it feels so comfy holding my girlfriend close to me."
Penny: *giggles* "Me too, Gumball."
He rubs her side gently as he held her. Being here with her like this moment, felt the best. It's peaceful and romantic! He has to admit, her giggle is so cute to him. It's one of the many things why he love her.
A few moments later, they pulled away from each others hug. Then suddenly, Gumball realizes something that made his eyes widened! Right! That's right! The Ukulele! Gumball would always bring the Ukulele along with him on every date with his girlfriend Penny.
Gumball: "Oh! I almost forgot about my surprise for you..."
He reached into his pocket and took out the Ukulele. He gently pulled it out and held it, looking at her with a smile.
Penny: *giggles* "Oh, Gumball. I Knew you would always bring the Ukulele every time when we're hanging out with each others like this moment..."
Gumball chuckled a little, he's glad that his girlfriend knows him so well. He smiles as he sits up from the chair, and started tuning the ukulele.
Gumball: "Heh, of course I would! Besides, it'd always went perfectly every time. As you like to hear my tunes, right?"
Penny: "I would love it, Gummy..."
Once the ukulele is perfectly tuned, Gumball smiles. He stands up fully, feeling very confident, he wanted to impress his girlfriend. He looks down at her before speaking with a slight blush.
Gumball: "Then I'll play it for you, my love. You can be my biggest critic..."
He then starts playing a tune on the ukulele, as music sounds in the air. The tune is a little soft , a little slow... A tune that is good for such occasion. He takes a deep breath before he starts to sing. And once he did, his voice is soft and sincere, not too bad. The choice for the song is... "Can't Help Falling in Love" by Elvis Presley!

As he sing and play the tune, he look down at her, singing with confidence. He really wanted to melt her heart with this. He had spent some time practicing this, and he hoped to do a good job at it. With the tune and his girlfriend as his audience, his words to her felt true and genuine!
Few minutes passes as Gumball finished the song, he stayed silent as he looked at Penny to see what she thought. He's not nervous, he knows he sounds good. But he still needed his girlfriend's approval as she's his critic.
And as expected, the song was so good that it made Penny shed some few tears of happiness as she claps her hand excitedly.
Penny: "Wow, Gumball. That was amazing!"
Gumball can't help but give a satisfied look at his girlfriend's response. He's happy that he did what he wanted to do, and her reaction made him feel proud and confident. He puts the ukulele back into his pocket as he reaches out a hand to her.
Gumball: "Thanks, Penny. You don't know how long I'd practiced on that tune to impress you."
Penny: "I knew you'll do your best, Gummy. You just make me the happiest girl alive today!"
Gumball smiled, feeling a sense of satisfaction. He's glad he got the response he wanted. He wanted to make her feel special in anyway possible today. He gently takes her hand, bringing her a little closer to him.
Gumball: "Thanks Penny. And I'm glad I impressed you with my little ukulele tune. I wanted to do something special for you, to show how much I care for you..."
Penny: *smiles as she hug Gumball tightly* "And I appreciate it. I'm so lucky to have you there for me, Gumball!"
Gumball: "And I'm so dang glad to have you, my favorite girl in the world! You're perfect, Penny..."
He held her just as tight, feeling the love and comfort. Her words just makes him so satisfied. He wrapped his arms around her gently as he hugs her, burying his face in her shoulder.
Penny: "I love you, Gumball."
Gumball: "And I love you too, Penny. More than you could ever imagine..."
The two of them keep hugging each others for a long time. Not wanting to let go from their hugs. These heartwarming and romantic moments like this make them want to enjoy it much longer than usual!
Then, both Gumball and Penny turns looking passionately at each others as they're holding each others hand.
Then they kissed! A very passionate kiss! They closed their eyes and lost themself in the moment. Everything faded away, and the only thing they can think about is how good it feels to be with the one whom they love so much. The feeling is like heaven!
And so, the date today has officially went perfect and successful, for both Gumball and Penny! From a sundae in the mall, to a romantic chill in the park, it all went oh so well! It make the relationship between Gumball and Penny goes stronger than ever! Gumball was so lucky to have such a beautiful and charming girlfriend like Penny. And her was also very lucky to have a cool and caring boyfriend like Gumball, who will do everything to protect and to stand up for her!
And as they'd promised to each others, that no matter what happens, they'll face it together!

Well there you have it, guys! My first ever TAWOG fanfiction! And it's very dang romantic too!
I have to admit, that this took me 3 days to finish it as I have to deal with other stuffs in my life! I know that some of you guys might found this one could have been better. I understand. Even though it's not perfect but still, I'm happy with the product that I've made!
