Chapter Text
I need,
I need,
I need,
I need,
I need-
The song blaring from the speakers was gettin stuck in his head. It was playing for the third or fourth time tonight. The guy working the bar seemed to really like it.
He was pretty. Soft brown hair and blackish eyes. Lots of tattoos, but not in the “I’m big and scary” way. Percy could watch him all night.
Someone sits next to him. They're not the first- and he doesn’t think they’ll be the last. But something about them is familiar, so he turns to meet their watchful eyes.
A sky blue gaze meets his, soft blonde hair and a scarred lip accompanying that pretty face.
“Hey, Perce.” Drawls that low voice, barely audible over the dance floor behind.
I need,
I need,
I need,
I need,
I need-
“Grace.” Percy greets, nodding to the other man. The familiar flush of alcohol dusts Jason's cheeks. “Where’s everyone else?”
He’d accompanied the seven as their driver, but as everyone had trickled off he wondered how many he’d be left to drive. Leo had drifted away with a soft looking person about an hour ago. Piper and Annabeth hadn’t been seen in a while, so Percy assumed they’d took a cab back to their apartment. Otherwise he didn’t know what happened to everyone.
Jason frowns, running a messy hand through messier hair. “Uhg… Leo left me. And Piper’s with Annie. I don’t think Frank or Hazel’s here.”
Percy raises an eyebrow at the blonde. His speech was slightly slurred, but like he was coming down from intoxication rather than approaching it. The other man gets to his feet again, wandering off without another word.
About an hour later, Percy is ready to head home. He gathers his things and slips between bodies on the dance floor, searching for Jason. The blonde in question is dancing with someone, lips pressed together in a sloppy kiss. Irrational jealousy flows through Percy’s body.
He steps up behind Jason, hands ghosting against his side. “Mind if I steal him from you?” Percy purrs to the other person.
They pull away from Jason with a lazy smile, golden-brown eyes soft with rising desire. “Sure. Find me if you need me.” They hum back, slipping into the thronging bodies. Jason melts in his arms.
“Come on, pretty boy. Let’s get you home.” Percy sighs, leading the other out of the establishment. Cold air kisses at his skin, leaving freezing marks over his body. Jason follows with a drunken smile, hands reaching for Percy.
They make it to the car, parked a small walk away, in relative silence. When Percy starts the car, Jason lets out a soft whine. “Don’t wanna leave…”
Percy glances at the other, sighing once more. “I know, Jase.”
The drive to Jason’s apartment is bland- other than Jason’s hands traveling up Percy’s arm and earning him a halfhearted glare.
Jason’s body is pressed to his, a dead weight as Percy helps him up the stairs. He pushes the door open and helps Jason inside. Percy is immediately pushed to the wall as soon as the door shuts. Jason’s forehead is on his shoulder, body once more pressed to his. Hot breath fans out over his skin as lazy arms wrap around his waist.
“Stay…” Jason whispers. Percy can smell the alcohol on his breath. “Please…”
“Jason, you’re drunk.” Percy grunts, trying to push the blonde away. His heart is pounding in his chest, limbs reluctant to push Jason off.
“Please…” Jason pants. Percy groans. Fuck, how is he suppoused to say no to that?
Percy ignores Jason’s pleas and pushes him away. Jason stumbles back, confusion and hurt from the rejection splattered on his face like blo– paint. Green eyes avoid blue as sun-tanned hands lead soft pale to the bedroom.
Jason hugs him from behind when they arrive. Clouds surround Percy, encouraging him to fall into the sky. Percy wriggles away from Jason’s overly touchy nature, ignoring the lust-blown eyes of the other man. He helps Jason slip his shoes off, pushing him down on the bed with a stern look.
“Jason, listen. You’re drunk. You don’t want that.” Percy mutters, more to himself than to Jason.
A soft pout graces those soft lips, shoulder slumping. Percy has to resist the urge to lean down and kiss the sadness from Jason’s face. “Fuck stop looking at me like that.” He mutters, retreating back into the hallway.
He goes to the kitchen and splashes some water on his face to clear his mind. Searches for a glass and ends up washing one in the sink, filling it with cool water. He pushes the drink into Jason's hands before he can refuse. Jason frowns down at the water before bringing it to his lips. Percy watches his Adam's apple bob with each swallow before he snaps his gaze away.
The blonde finishes the glass and sets it down on the nightstand, looking less flushed and more present. He groans, pulling a hand down his face and falling back on the mattress. “I think I love you.”
The words are so soft Percy is sure he’d imagined them.
“It scares me.” Jason whispers, the sort of anguish in his words that tugged on Percy’s heartstrings.
Percy just stands there in silence, waiting for the dream to end. The only thing he’d been hoping for, and Jason wasn’t even fully aware of everything. How was he supposed to know the other was telling the truth?
Emotions war in his chest for what seems like hours. Jason turns his head to look at him, eyes soft and full of sad affection. “You don’t like me back. That’s what hurts, y’know?”
A stab of guilt hits Percy in the chest. “Jason, you’re drunk.” Percy says firmly. “Just go to sleep.”
A sigh leaves the blondes' lips. He sits up carefully. “See? You don’t even believe me.” Fuckfuckfuck. “Is it because I’m drunk? That’s sad. I shouldn’t have drunk so much… but I wanted confidence.”
Percy’s heart stops. He turns to the door, back to Jason, so he doesn’t have to meet those eyes. “Goodnight, Jason.” He whispers.
That night, Percy lays awake for hours.
Jason fucking Grace.
