Summary
In a ravaged post apocalyptic America overrun by the undead, two survivors embark on a journey to find refuge. Lena is alone, exhausted, and near her breaking point after losing her family to the zombie horde. She has only one goal - to reach the fabeled New Hope settlement, rumored to be a safe haven located deep in the uncharted forests of the Pacific Northwest. Along the way, Lena crosses paths with Cole, a lone boy survivalist who keeps to himself. Though wary of each other at first, they soon realize they stand a better chance together. Under Cole's guidance, Lena hones her survival skills and begins to heal from her traumatic past. As they travel north through the decaying cities and rough terrain, Lena and Cole face relentless attacks from the infected. They also encounter human threats like hostile scavengers who will do anything to take their dwindling supplies. With the impending arrival of winter and little information about New Hope's existence, their resolve is tested at every turn. Just when all seems lost, they make a discovery that could be their salvation - or lead them into deeper peril.
