Ghost city could be loud, chaotic, and unforgiving - but time slowed inside of Paradise Manor.
The two lovers, Hua Cheng and Xie Lian, had finally gotten their happy ending. After 800 years, they were finally together, and they were extremely happy with eachother. It’s the kind of happiness that doesn’t need loud declarations — it lives in the quiet things. Like laughing until their stomachs hurt at something only the two of them would find funny. Or the way their hand fits so perfectly in eachothers, it feels like the universe aligned just for that touch. It’s waking up and realizing, again and again, that they’re exactly where they want to be. It’s peace and butterflies, comfort and thrill. It’s knowing they don’t need anything more — because they already have eachother.
There was just one problem, well Xie Lian was the only one out of the two of them that was bothered by it.
Xie Lian hadn’t told Hua Cheng that he loved him yet.

As Xie Lian stirred, lazily waking from slumber, he felt consciousness come gradually to him. His cheek was pressed against something firm, which he soon realised was his lover’s chest.
“Morning Gege.” Hua Cheng ran his fingers through his husband’s hair as he leaned down to kiss his soft lips.
Xie Lian giggled as he let himself be pampered with kisses, he pushed his husband away lightly as his kisses threatened to go lower. “San Lang!” Xie Lian protested through giggles. He smiled softly before giving his husband a soft kiss on his cheek. “Goodmorning.”
Hua Cheng continued running his fingers through his husband’s soft hair, brushing through all the knots. Xie Lian rested his head back on his husband’s chest, he knew that they would end up staying in bed for a while.
No matter how many times Xie Lian woke up next to his husband, he always felt like the luckiest man in the world. He wanted to tell his beloved how much he loved and adored him, but he just couldn’t get the words out.
Xie Lian sighed softly, his husband could immediately tell something was wrong, even before he sighed, and began to questioned him about it. “Gege, what’s troubling you?” Hua Cheng asked him gently, as he leaned down to brush the stray hairs out of his lover’s face.
“San Lang..” The shorter of the two sighed once more, burying his face into his husband’s chest. He knew he wanted to tell his beloved how much he loved him, he wanted to do it immediately, but he was worried that the mood wasn’t right.
Xie Lian decided that he was disinterested in the mood, he just had to inform his husband how much he adored him. Xie Lian rose from his comfortable position on his husband’s chest, and sat infront of him instead. He tenderly cupped his pale cheeks with his hands, his fingers tracing his beloved’s jawline.
“San Lang, I love you.” Xie Lian confessed, his face slowly turning a lovely shade of red. It shouldn’t be this embarrassing to admit you love your husband. Xie Lian cringed at himself, until he felt his fingers slowly become wet.
Xie Lian glanced back at his husband’s face, which now had tears pouring from his eyes, his eyes glistened as the tears fell freely down his cheeks.
“San Lang, what’s wrong?!” Xie Lian panicked, he wondered if he somehow offended his husband, or upset him, by finally confessing his love.
Hua Cheng just chuckled, he buried his head into Xie Lian’s chest as more tears threatened to fall. “Thank you..I love you too Gege.” He said through sniffles, clearly overwhelmed with emotions.
Xie Lian just sighed lovingly, he patted his husband’s head as he rubbed his back. They stayed intertwined with eachother, knowing that their love would continue to grow with each passing day.
