   Summary

   Darry offered him a hand. “Alright, Winston?”

   Dally turned his eyes on him, flickering from Darry’s face to his outstretched hand. If he wasn’t exhausted from the day’s work, from hearing that horrible phone call that the boys couldn’t find Johnny, he might have thought that Dally looked shaken. His face was white, his eyes hard and cold as ever, but there was something almost vulnerable and pleading behind his columns of blue ice and frigid fire.

   Or,

   On the night of Johnny’s jumping, Darry and Dally have a conversation about little brothers.
