Chapter Text
The year 2290, the month and day, January 11th. Shoto Todoroki's 5th birthday.
He was in his room asleep with his sister Elly since they can't sleep without each other and always do everything together and it was 7 a.m when Toya, Fuyumi, & Natsuo came in.
Toya walked over and gently stroked Elly's hair from her face and whispered; ^"Elly, wake up."^
She stirs and wakes up. ^"Toya-nii?"^ She mutters.
^"Yea, now c'mon wake up so we can wake up Shoto for his birthday!"^
She sits up and rubs her eyes and fixes her hair as Toya sits on the bed and Natsuo and Fuyumi went to the left of the bed where Shoto is sleeping.
Fuyumi gently shakes Shoto's shoulder. ^"Shoto, wake up."^
"Mmmhh....." He grumbles, turning away from her.
Natsuo and Toya chuckle and now it was Toya's turn to try to wake him.
"C'mon Sho, you gotta wake up, it's your special day after all."
"I don' wanna ge' up!" He whines with his eyes still closed.
Natsuo chuckles. "You gotta get up! It's your birthday!"
"Can wait." He mutters and turns into his pillow.
"You try lil sis." Natsuo says.
"Shoto... please wake up."
"No!" He snuggles in to the blankets and pillows more pulls her close to snuggle in.
She looks up at Fuyumi.
^"Keep trying."^
"Shoto please, for me?"
"Mmm... fi' more min?"
"No."
He opens his eyes. "Please?"
"No."
"Ugh, fine. You're mean." He sits up.
"Happy birthday!!" They all say at once.
"Thank you." He mutters rubbing his eyes.
They all hug him and he hugs them back.

When they entered the kitchen Shoto clung to his mother's leg while Elly just simply hugged her.
"Good morning dears, and happy birthday Shoto."
"Thank you Mama."
"You're welcome now, why don't you both sit at the table ok?" They nod and head over. "Natsuo, Toya, could you boys set the table? And Fuyumi, could you pour in the soy sauce please?"
"Sure mom." Toya says and he and Natsuo start setting the table.
"Of course." Fuyumi replies as she pours the soy sauce for the Tamagoyaki.

Later when Shoto's birthday party got started Tensei Iida and his little brother Tenya came over, along with Tensei's highschool best friends, Hizashi Yamada, Shota Aizawa, and Nemuri Kayama. The four just graduated UA last year and are fresh heroes. Tensei is a spotlight hero, Hizashi is limelight, Nemuri is Twilight, and Shota is underground. Shota and Nemuri also brought their son Hitoshi. Tenya and Hitoshi are also 5.
The reason the Todoroki's know the Iida's is from all the hero galas and plus both families are very, very, wealthy and have known each other for many generations.
Tenya walks over to Shoot and hugs him then give Shoto his present. "Happy birthday Shoto!"
"Thanks Tenya."
Hitoshi then follows suit while Tenya and Elly hug.
"So you ready to get this shindig goin little lister?!" Hizashi asked excitedly making Shota to quickly use his Erasure quirk so Hizashi's voice quirk didn't bleed in.
"Hizashi." He says tiredly.
He notices and laughs sheepishly. "Sorry Sho. Sorry guys."
Shota turns his quirk off and sighs.
"Yea, I'm ready." Shoto finally answers with a small smile.

Eleven months later, it's Saturday, December 20th, 2291. They're all at a Christmas party hosted for the heroes and the rich. Tenya, Hitoshi, and Elly are all 6 and Shoto is still 5. They're also hanging out with two of their other friends, Momo Yaoyorozu (who's also 5) who comes from a rich family and Denki Kaminari (also 5) whose mother is a hero all talking while Toya, Fuyumi, Natsuo, Tensei, Shota, Hizashi, and Nemuri all converse about how the latter three are talking about how they're teaching at UA.
After awhile Elly had broken off to go get a small appetizer and Tenya- being who he is, wanting to make sure she isn't alone plus other motives follows after her while their friends converse.
"You know you shouldn't leave by yourself. You could get lost."
She stops and looks at him with a smile. "And that's why I have you."
His face dusts a light pink as they reach the buffet and she grabs a small styrofoam bowl and puts a few things in it.
He watches her for a few seconds before speaking up. "I know how much you hate large crowds and all the noises, so, do you want to-... Want to maybe go out to the garden?
"Sure." He takes her hand and it was her turn to blush lightly this time and he leads her outside and around a corner and down a path. The garden beautiful and the two Sakura trees next to each other. Their branches shaped into a heart and they sit on a bench under the trees the moon shining down on them both and he stares at her as she eats a strawberry.
When she notices she offers out the bowl. "Fruit?"
"Sure. Thank you." He eats some with her and when they finish and the bowl thrown away he feels like now's the perfect time. "Umm... Elly..?"
"Yes Tenya?" She gives him her full attention.
He feels even more nervous. "Well... Erm... I have a Christmas present for you."
"You do?"
He nods and pulls out a small wrapped box from his pocket and hands it to her.
"What's this."
"Open it."
She nods and gently pulls off the blue ribbon laying it on her lap and gently tries to pull off the wrapping paper without tearing it too much, revealing a small black box. She looks at it for a moment and three seconds later she opens it slowly and gently. When she looks in she sees a beautiful purple ring with a sky blue topaz in a heart shape and on the inside is engraved 12-29-2291. T+E. Always. She looks up surprised. "Tenya..." She breaths out.
I know we're only 6 but will you be with me?.. forever?" He's blushing, his head turned but he's looking at her.
She's blushing too and nods. "Of course!" She hugs him and he hugs back and ever a minute he slides the ring on her finger.
He looks at her and places a hand on her cheek and whispers, ^"May I?"^
She nods. ^"Yes"^
They both close their eyes and slowly lean in a their lips softly meet for a moment and it feels like fireworks speak between them.
She feels so giddy in the moment and even then, even at the young age of 6, she knows this will last forever.
Tenya feels similarly, knowing she's the one he wants by his side throughout his life. He almost can't believe this moment and it's exhilarating.
After a moment they pull apart and she leans her head on his shoulder and whispers, ^"I love you Tenya."^
He carefully runs his fingers through her hair and murmers back, "I love you too Elly."
