Wave's hand raised, and for a split second, Lava thought he was about to get punched. Wave was so frustrated with his hot-and-cold act that he'd resorted to violence, which wasn't like him at all. He must've been picking up some of Lava's negative qualities.
Lava braced for a physical impact that never came. Instead, a gentle palm came to rest against his cheek, cradling him like he was made of soft clouds. Wave's eyes were warm, so much so that they threatened to burn him to bits with their intense gaze.
