Work Text:
Albedo’s soulmate has the same first letter as his name: A, and when it’s not enough his soulmate’s name also contains 6 letters in total. It was written messily on his wrist… it was supposed to mimic how his other pair write… but that had been when he was small. As he grew up… the writings changed, it became less messy and more defined.
He supposed that’s an improvement itself.
He had no idea how his own handwriting appears on the other but he was confident it doesn’t look like a chicken stomp on it in rage and that’s putting it mildly.
“Looking at your wrist again?” Alice asks. “My… it was like yesterday that you were just as tiny as my palm.”
“That is not biologically possible unless I was scooped up from the womb when I was still developing.”
Alice ignores him and continues with her dramatics… not that he minds.
“Can’t wait to meet them?”
Albedo looks up from his breakfast. Was he? Does it show in his face? “I was only curious what kind of person they’ll be.”
Alice clasped her hand together in delight. “I’m sure they’ll be wonderful! Oh, should we prepare now? What if you met him tomorrow? Next week…”

“Albedo are you not going home?” Sucrose asks. “It looks like it’s going to rain too…”
“You and the others can go. I’m going to finish something before heading home.” he said and barely looked up from what he was doing. He only hears her fading footsteps.
He didn’t notice the time… not that he did before and it’s already nearing 6 when he looks up. Deciding that he can’t finish it… Albedo gathers his things and cleans the room before leaving. And just as he arrived in the lobby… the rain poured strongly but he was not worried, he had an umbrella although he would still be drenching.
He went to retrieve it from his locker but he wasn’t even near the aisle when he heard a moan. A MOAN and followed by sounds that he rather not hear….
Flustered, Albedo runs from it and fails to get his umbrella; there's no way he would brave this strong rain. Then another voice came behind…
“Woah…” he heard the stranger. “It’s strong.”
Albedo didn’t answer as it’s not directed at him. He remained in the corner… trying to cleanse his ears from earlier when he felt his wrist warmth and the once silver name flashes in gold. Written in bold and golden letters is ‘Aether’.
Then he felt a pull… Albedo whipped his head to the stranger earlier and caught on the long, golden braided hair.
“... are you Aether?” the name sounds foreign in his tongue when he speaks aloud but then the stranger smiles… Aether smiled back at him and Albedo had never seen someone so golden.
“If your name is Albedo then yes, I’m Aether.”
