Albedo had been in Mondstadt for years but since Aether’s arrival… It seems like he hasn’t explored enough when Aether brought him to a lot of strange and beautiful places hidden in Mondstadt. Maybe it was Aether’s talent… he is a veteran after all, accustomed to many cultures and their practice. He had been a little shocked when the traveler claimed that Mondstadt isn’t too big and overwhelming and that he didn’t mean it in a bad way.
But then Aether admits that the place he likes the most is Windrise and Albedo could see why.
Aside from the giant oak tree tree that you can rest below or even up on the branches… The landscape scene from here is breathtaking. Every morning Aether claimed to watch the sunrise on the right and that it has a calming effect everytime. At night Windrise is dark save for the crystal flies and luminescence flying around. Aether said it gives him a feeling of deja vu… but more on a sentimental and nostalgic side.
And so Albedo found himself sketching the scenery before him while Aether rested on his lap and fast asleep. He didn’t mind in the slightest. Aether has been working hard… way too hard in his opinion that sometimes he doesn’t notice when it is taking a toll on his body and health.
Aether snored peacefully and Albeso couldn’t help but just watch his sleeping face. There’s the obvious dark spots underneath his eyes but it never dulled his bright face filled with joy even when tired. He was glad for the part that Aether hasn’t started losing weight…. otherwise he would be worried as well.
In front the statue of Barbatos stood while producing a blue light that reached high enough to be seen from a distance.
Aether stirs on his lap and Albedo pauses to caress his forehead and lull him back to sleep.
He finished a couple of sketches but still ended up with Aether’s face. When the afternoon starts to deepen… Albedo somehow starts feeling tired as well and tries to move Aether gently so he could lay beside him.
Albedo was positive he was going to fall asleep.
Just to make sure… He put a flower around them, which is supposed to be romantic but it was an alarm that would notify them. After setting them up… Albedo lay comfortably beside Aether and snuggle, closing his eyes and pulling himself with the beats of Aether’s heart.
