Summary:

“Eugh! What is this?!” Chigiri coughed out after taking the slightest sip of his coffee. Rensuke blinked. “Coffee.”

“It’s so… bitter!”

“That’s what coffee is. You asked for coffee.”

“Yeah, but that’s not my type of coffee! My personal chef would know what I want: three whips of cream, five spoonsful of sugar, with chocolate syrup or honey syrup—depending on my mood. The coffee’s supposed to be at least mixed with milk."

Rensuke slammed his head on the table. “I’m not your chef."

or; Kunigami Rensuke, full-time barista, part-time streamer/gamer, crosses paths with Chigiri Hyoma, a celebrity.

Chapter 1: 1.1: RENSUKE

Chapter Text

Rensuke’s not exactly the gamer type of guy.

His routine consisted of waking up early at 5:30 in the morning and taking a jog at his neighborhood. (His jogging also consists of waving at a few elderly people here and there, and maybe helping in some reconstruction sites.)

By 6:00, he’s back at his apartment and cooking some scrambled eggs. If he felt a bit motivated, he’ll cook up some bacon while listening to… Enchanted by Taylor Swift. (“Hey, no laughing! So what if I’m a swiftie?” To his embarrassment, Rensuke would often say this to his friends whenever they’d see his Spotify playlists. This is what you become when you grow up with two sisters and a single mom…)

By 6:15 he’ll take a shower, then he’ll go to his local gym and exercise. Or maybe train is a better word than that. By 8:00, he’ll go work at Blue Lock: Coffee & Pastries as TikTok’s popular handsome buff barista…? (Or so Bachira said, showing him a video of him in high quality and filters and text saying pov: you met the handsome buff barista at Blue Lock: Coffee & Pastries in the platform TikTok.)

By 5:00 PM, he goes home and takes a shower. By 5:30, he cooks up dinner. By 6:00, he eats, by 6:50, he washes the dishes, by 7:15, he brushes his teeth, by 7:20, he calls his sister studying in a college dormitory and other sister working America to make sure they’re fine. And by 7:30…

“KUNIGAMI!!!”

“Here enters our popular handsome buff barista!!”

“Hey.”

Rensuke’s not exactly the gamer type of guy, but he’s still a gamer.

The moment Rensuke joined the call with Isagi, Bachira, and an about-to-fall-asleep Nagi, his ears are pierced with shouts and unnecessary loud greetings. “Keep it down, you two. Nagi, if you’re sleepy, go sleep.”

“Eh, Reo said the same thing…” Mused the white-haired sloth, his face seemingly… far away? Love sick? “Enough with the Reo mentions, Nagi.” Isagi sighed, “We all know you can’t possibly bag the Reo Mikage.”

“I did.” The sloth pouted.

“Are you schizophrenic like Bachira, then? You might wanna join him on his therapy sessions every Sunday.” Rensuke couldn’t help but say in amusement. Bachira visibly pouts as Isagi covers his mouth, mutes his microphone and turns off his camera.

Kunigami?! How dare you! My monster is rea—Yoichi stop laughing! I can see and hear you from here!”

Isagi’s attempts of covering any evidence of him laughing are futile because he shares an apartment with Bachira. And Nagi, well, Nagi lives alone in his apartment. Nagi who’s obsessed with model and businessman Reo and likes to live in his Reo-filled delusions. Rensuke’s normal compared to these three—well, you can consider Isagi normal if you exclude his… mouth when playing games and soccer on the field.

“Alright, let’s start the stream, eh? Yoichi, turn on your cam!”

“Alright, alright—” Isagi wheezed. “I’m okay.”

Nagi rolled his eyes as Rensuke chuckled, finally starting the stream as a myriad of people came.

footlicker: OMG HIIIII

bachirasmonster: HI BACHIRA I MISSED U

balls: finally u guys started WE WERE WAITING

nagiswifecanon: h-h-hi n-n-nagi-kun…! *i blush* surprised t-t-to see u here….

“Hi guys!” Bachira, with all his sunshine energy, beams at the chat. “What do you guys suggest we play today?”

goatsagi: is it just me or i kinda wnat them to watch tiktok…. i mena have you guys seen THE kunigami edits?? hello??

xiaolumiisreal: genshinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

“I think we might have to go with Genshin,” said Rensuke, “I still haven’t done my commissions yet—wait what edits?”

xiaolumiisreal: OMGOSH DID KUNIGAMI JUST AGREE WITH ME

goatsagi: UHM DONT MIND THAT KUNI

“Genshin it is,” Isagi chuckled as he logged into his Genshin account.

When the game finally loaded, they all joined co-op.

“I see you Kuni!” Bachira laughed, his character Kinich running and jumping around Rensuke’s character Zhongli.

Isagi switches from Qiqi to his regular main Mualani, since he did a USING QIQI TO DEFEAT ALL GENSHIN BOSSES challenge at his own channel. And of course, chat goes crazy.

imdead: oh my gosh… theyre matching…

bachirasmonster: KINLANI AND BACHISAGI????

rawr: I KNEW IT SOMETHINGS FRUITY GOIN ON BETWEEN EM

jadeful: waving the lgbtq+ pride flag

“Guys, what are you talking about?” Bachira laughed as he read the chat. “Me and ‘Sagi are just friends!”

balls: Isagi looks sad…

bachirasmonster: bachira i love you but PLS GO HUG ISAGI?? HE LOOKS LIKE HES GOING TO CRY

nagiswifecanon: not cool bachi

“What the heck, guys?” Said Isagi, his face shifting from “sad” to normal. “I’m not going to cry.”

“Earlier, you look like you would.” Added Nagi, a totally unnecessary comment that Isagi did not welcome. Rensuke sighed because he knew Bachira definitely sent Isagi an apology text for denying their totally-not-secret relationship.

“Ah, accidentally used Reo’s ult…” Nagi mumbled lazily, as Raiden’s Inazuma shines eternal! voiceline echoes in the background.

“Silly Nagicchi, that’s not Reo, that’s Raiden.”

frillyfruity: if theres a simping for reo competition nagi would win no cap

simpformen>frillyfruity: pls have you seen reo? that guy’s ETHEREAL

booklover>simpformen: fr i don’t blame nagi at all

bachirasmonster: nagi so down bad he has all purple haired characters LOLL

reri: Wait, Nagi, you like Reo? The Mikage Reo?

“Someone asked a question, Nagi,” Rensuke’s hero instincts kicked in. “Go and answer them.”

“Fine.” Nagi huffed. “Only because the username is a character from my favorite manga and has Reo’s first two letters. Yes, I like Reo. In fact, Reo’s my boyfriend.”

“Yeah, you’re joining Bachira’s therapy sessions.” Isagi whispered to himself.

looney: BONOBONO MERTJONED

reri: Oh… I see…...

nagiswifereal: im….losing….again…..

amaliaroses>nagiswifereal: you never stood a chance

nagiswifereal>amaliaroses: you always appear in my chat bullying me WHY DO YOU HATE ME

“Ignoring that… Kunigami, after you finish your commissions why don’t we try to defeat the new boss?”

“Good morning. Welcome to Blue Lock, how may I help you?” Rensuke did his best to stifle his yawn. They streamed and played until 12:00 in the midnight that Rensuke woke up late for the first time in a while. He only got to jog and eat a sandwich before going to work. These girls—giggling like annoying birds—are not helping.

“U-Uhm,” After an eternity of endless giggling, one of them finally spoke up, “Three matcha lattes, please.” Rensuke handed them the receipt. One of them, for the 33rd time this month, accidentally brushed their fingers against his. Rensuke’s smile faltered for a split second. Being sleep-deprived while working is not recommended.

“Kunigami-kun, is it really fine?” Their manager, Anri, looked back at Rensuke before leaving the café. Rensuke smiled and nodded. “Yes, Ms. Anri, you can go to your business meeting now. The skies are about to go dark.”

“Ah—alright! I’ll leave the keys with you, please lock the doors later once your shift ends. I appreciate it, Kunigami-kun!” The ever-thoughtful Anri waved her hand goodbye as Rensuke wipes one of the tables. Unlike their ugly, bowl hair cut boss named Ego—who freaking names their kid Ego?????—their manager Anri is a sweet angel who descended from heaven to save them from the egoistic devil.

And of course, that would also mean Anri’s a cupid. She let Isagi and Bachira go home earlier when she learned they have a date scheduled today. So only him, Anri, and Ness were left at the café. Until Ness’ shift ended and Anri left because of an emergency meeting, so the café was left in Rensuke’s hands.

He wouldn’t really like it if he starts saying Nagi’s motto.

His popularity as a streamer along with Isagi and Bachira boosted the popularity of this café as well, much to Ego’s pleasure. He was planning on giving them unfairly low income. Thank the God for Anri’s existence, she threatened to hide all of Ego’s favorite ramen and cup of noodles if he didn’t give them a fair income.

There’s only five minutes left before his shift—before the café closes. Should I close it already?

He looked outside. The roads—the city is busy with bustling crowds, heck they look… busier, louder, and many than usual. There must be a gathering of sorts—or an uprising, Rensuke heard that from the news two days ago.

The sun’s setting. I should switch the sign.

Rensuke left the café by 5: 46 PM.

He chose to go through the alleyways, after all, the streets and roads are crowded with angry people revolting against the government and police officers doing their not-so-best to hold them back—it’d be hard to get through them.

While, yes, the alleyways are rather dangerous corners where drunkards, gangsters, and others meet up—heck, it can even be a hookup spot—Rensuke can handle that. He’s pretty strong. He has a nice, built body, he can fight a guy or two. (Correction: He can fight a gang of eight men at once.)

So, when Rensuke walked through the alleyways, he expected to go home early without any trouble or get caught in a fight before finally going home.

He didn’t expect a girl to bump into him.

Wait.

No.

It’s a guy in a dress who bumped into him.

“Ahh, shi—you’re in the way!” The guy cursed. Rensuke looked under him—

And his breath hitched.

Holy crap.

This guy’s beautiful. He has cheeks seemingly as soft as freaking pillows stuffed with cotton. And—and his hair. His hair is as red as strawberries, yet in a lighter hue closer to pink. He has long hair too. Long hair reaching just below his shoulders.

He has a nice neck. A really, really nice neck. Too nice. Control your nape kink, Rensuke.

The guy shouldn’t have looked up to meet Rensuke’s tangerine eyes because—

Rensuke found himself captivated by the pool of pinkish blood swirling in a manner almost hypnotizing. He saw apples, cherries, strawberries, ladybugs, roses, and—

“You’re in the way.” The pretty guy repeated, looking away in… embarrassment? And now that Rensuke’s listening properly, his voice is a mix of masculine gentleness and feminine elegance. “I’m being chased by rabid dogs, so I’ll give you your autograph later if you give me your number—”

“Dogs?” Rensuke cursed at himself because of all the things he could’ve said, he chose dogs. “I-I like dogs. I mean—polar bears are better but dogs are cute.” What the heck is he saying now?

Silence. Well—not really silent because there’s a commotion going on in the main streets, but no one spoke between the two. And then—

“CHIGIRI-KUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN~!”

Female screams echoed at the end of the alleyway.

Rensuke couldn’t help but cringe. “What the…”

“Fan girls. I meant obsessive fan girls when I said rabid dogs.” Redhead gritted his teeth. Rensuke eyed the beautiful man before him. Is he a celebrity? And the girls called him… Chibi? Chibi-Rin? Chibi-Rin-kun?

“Want a place to hide?” Rensuke’s hero instincts kicked in. He felt bad for the celebrity before him, he wanted to help. (Not because he wants to see more of him.) “Y’know how to run, uh, fast?”

Redhead smirked. Holy crap. “Can you catch up?” Rensuke couldn’t help but grin back. He can take a challenge. “You don’t know the way, Princess.”

Redhead’s cheeks burned. “Princess—ack?!” Rensuke carried the beautiful redhead into his arms, the scent of his shampoo barging into his nose uninvited, but not unwelcome. He settled his hands above the hem of his skirt which is just near his inner thigh, and he felt it burn just a little bit.

This is Kunigami Rensuke’s first attempt of carrying a person via bridal style, and it’s a really nice feeling on a relatively not-very nice afternoon.

“Hold on tight, Princess, we’re going on a bumpy ride. There’s a commotion outside, after all.” Immediately, he felt the redhead’s arms wrap around his shoulders, and holy crap, what toothbrush does this celebrity use? He can feel his breath tickling his Adam’s apple, and it’s simply refreshing.

“Chigiri-kun!!!”

“CHIGIRI IS MINE!!”

“PLEASE SIGN ON MY THIGHS, CHIGIRI-KUN!”

“I’LL GIVE YOU MY PANTIES, CHIGIRI! IT HAS MY C—"

Rensuke never ran so fast in his life. He thanked God he never heard the last word in that girl’s sentence.

In a span of minutes, he ran out of the alley way and into the streets. The commotion is about to be fixed, and the crowds are starting to dissipate. Starting to. There are still many people, and Rensuke used that to his advantage.

“Princess, remove your shoes. You might hurt someone. Oh, and cover your face.”

That’s worth a million—

“Yes, and I’m poor. Now, remove them.”

Chigiri—Rensuke caught the celebrity’s name from the crazy girls, grumbled something under his breath and untied the shoe laces of his ridiculously expensive sneakers. He settled the shoes securely on his chest before burying his face in Rensuke’s shirt.

Of all the things he could do to cover his face, he chose this. His heart is beating more profusely. Holy crap.

Rensuke bumped into people more than five. Yes. Chigiri even gasped dramatically when the shoes stumbled out of him, “MY DICIANNOVEVENTITRE!”

The skies glowed a beautiful combination of red and orange by the time Rensuke and Chigiri reached Blue Lock. Chigiri jumped out of Kunigami’s arms (No, he was not disappointed.), and he reached out for the keys in his pocket.

And when they entered, they immediately locked the door again and pulled down the white curtain covers, leaving only peeks of golden orange and red from the setting sun outside.

“That…” Chigiri panted, leaning against the wall. His red eyes shone in rare excitement, as if he’s never experienced something like this before. “That was so fun.”

Rensuke couldn’t help but nod in agreement. “… Yeah.”

“Y’know, you’re not supposed to be here.” Rensuke sighed, pouring milk into the coffee. All he really expected for today was that everything would go normal except for the fact that he woke up late. But no, his two friends left work early for a gay date, his other friend’s shift ended early and his manager left the café to him, there was a commotion so he went through the alleyways, saved a pretty celebrity from obsessive fan girls and went back to the café.

The man—Chigiri Hyoma, he introduced himself earlier, continued brushing his red locks. Like he didn’t care that he’s not supposed to be in here.

Rensuke sighed for the tenth time today. After pouring milk into his coffee, he made his way towards the redhead’s table.

“This café’s supposed to be closed by now.”

“I already paid you twice the price. I’ll give you a tip.”

Rensuke sighed. Rich people. “Never mind.”

The coffee’s supposed to be at least mixed with milk.”

Rensuke slammed his head on the table. “I’m not your chef."

“Oh, and,” Chigiri tucked a few strands of his hair behind his ear, “My expensive Diciannoveventitre shoes are gone. How’re you supposed to pay for that, hero?”

Rensuke looked up at him in confusion. “Hero?”

Chigiri rolled his eyes. “Because you saved me. Duh. Unlike you who called me a Princess out of nowhere and without reason.”

Now this made Rensuke sit up. “Oh—No, no, no, no, Princess. I have a reason. Firstly, your hoodie says Princess in bright, golden colors. And you’re wearing a dress underneath.”

Chigiri stammered, his face pink. “I-I didn’t notice—I just thought that hey, this looks cheap. Should be a nice disguise and ran away from my sister’s stupid, actress-y event. She dragged me there.” He sighed before tucking a strand of his red hair behind his ear. “Anyways, how’re you supposed to pay for my pair of shoes, Hero?”

“I’ll pay it, just not now.” Rensuke massaged his temple. He’s saving money for his mom’s upcoming birthday, and this is really the worst timing. “I’ll save up, and once I reach your shoes’ price, I’ll pay you.”

A grin appeared on Chigiri’s face. Good, Rensuke sighed in relief. He’s satisfied. Now, about the money—

“Nah, that’s too boring.”

Rensuke’s eyes have never looked up so fast.

Instead of a satisfied smile, what lays on Chigiri’s face is a smug smirk. And pink eyes twinkling with fun mischief. “I’ll—” He stands up “—decide—” and approached Rensuke—who stiffened, “what your payment will be.” Chigiri stood behind Rensuke and grabbed a bunch of his bright orange hair and pulled, earning a groan from the guy who owned the bright orange hair.

“Fixing your bird nest of a hair would be a great way to start, but then, that would be way too simple.”

His hair’s not that bad!

Right?

Chigiri finally let go of his poor hair before settling a small piece of paper on the table.

Chigiri Hyoma~

xxx xxxxxxxxxxx xxxx

If I gave you this, you’re a chosen one ;D

“What’s this for—”

“My number. Make sure to call me, so your number can be saved in mine and then I can call you once I make up my mind!” Chigiri’s voice was a bit too high and too cheerful. It sent shivers down Rensuke’s spine.

“Make sure to search me up on the Internet—it’s clear you have no idea who I am.” With a confident smirk, Chigiri opened the door, letting the fresh breeze send his hair swaying, as he finally left.

Rensuke finally breathed.

Tucking the paper in his pocket, he thought back to what happened this day and called it extraordinary.

You met Chigiri Hyoma??!!!!!” Rensuke should’ve expected the reactions from Isagi and Bachira. Nagi, of course, looks uninterested as always. Why did they even come over to his apartment? The moment he stepped inside, they did too. These guys are real sneaky.

“You mean the supermodel? Like, the one who advertises the shampoo I’ve been using for the past ten years?” Oh, okay, Isagi.

“The actor who starred as the second male lead in the romance drama I-forgot-the-name-of?” Probably, Bachira.

“You mean this guy right here?” All eyes turned into Nagi, lazily flopped down Rensuke’s couch and pointing to a magazine he’s holding.

The cover is Chigiri, hair tied back to a bun, exposing his nape—CONTROL YOUR KINK, RENSUKE!—and holding a lipstick, pointing to his pink-tinted lips.

Rensuke swallowed his gulp. “Yeah. Him.”

Rensuke wished desperately that he will no longer cross paths with Chigiri Hyoma, because if he does, he will no longer be able to forget the red-haired princess ever again.
