Death P.A.C.T. Movie Night (Featuring Long-Lasting Romantic Feelings Finally Out of the Woodworks!)

Summary:

Post TPOT, all of the Death P.A.C.T. members from all three teams reunite and have a movie night. Remote's been battling feelings the entire time she was in Two's elimination area, as Pillow would never admit the truth that she missed the mechanical mind. (also Fantree is in this because do you really expect me to write something related to all of Death P.A.C.T. and not include Fantree?)

Work Text:

"TREE!" Fanny ran straight to her boyfriend, jumping into his arms.

Tree smiled warmly, "Fanny! I missed you!"

"I missed you too!" Fanny kissed Tree's cheek, "It's nice to see you again."

"Same to you," Tree smiled, looking down and noticing deep eye bags under Fanny's eyes, just as a huge yawn escapes her.

Fanny nuzzles into Tree, "Tired."

As everyone settled for the movie night, main groups formed. Liy, Pen, and Bottle were all in one group, Marker, Fanny, Tree, and Black Hole in another (although Fanny was already asleep, cuddled up to Tree). Robot Flower didn't show up (considering she never really cared about Death P.A.C.T., it wasn't a surprise), as Pin and Gaty were meeting Lightning and Pie. That left Remote and Pillow, sitting next to each other. While everyone else was chatting before selecting a movie, Pillow and Remote sat in silence.

It really wasn't a surprise to anyone that between Remote and Pillow was awkward, especially those close to Remote. She had been holding feelings for Pillow for a long, long time. Pillow, on the other hand, never really talked about Death P.A.C.T.. Pillow, well she barely cared about Death P.A.C.T., considering there was only one person she even felt positive towards. At that, she would NEVER admit she missed the mechanical mind. That was something for herself to hold. She was happy that she was next to the one she missed.

Eventually, Black Hole speaks up, "Alright, now let's select a movie, since that's the reason we're here."

Everyone instantly had different opinions: Pen, Liy, and Bottle all wanted to watch movies that Bagged would of watched, which were very sci-fi. Pie didn't care, but Lightning, Gaty, and Pin all somehow wanted to watch action movies. Pillow wanted to watch something bloody and violent (which Remote couldn't help but find cute, it felt so normal for her), and Marker wanted to watch comedy. After a simple poll, they settled on a sci-fi action movie, a best of what everyone wanted.

Remote couldn't tell you what the movie was about. She normally would be great at watching movies, and could tell you so much about them. It was just, she was next to Pillow. And, not only that, there was basically no one else. Most fell silent watching the movie. Pillow even had a gleam in her eye watching it. The wide smile, the gleam in her eye watching the movie, the way her hand just barely reached Remote's, so the two were touching but without any acknowledgement, it felt so surreal to Remote. This felt like some dream.

Pillow was enjoying the movie, she really was. But, it was a bit hard to focus. Her hand was barely touching Remote's, the coolness of her metal hand was refreshing. She was desprately trying to pay attention to the movie, because she didn't want to admit she missed Remote. But she could also tell Remote wasn't paying attention. Should she try to talk to Remote? Eh, why not take a stab at it?

"Hey," Pillow whispered, not turning her head from the movie.

Remote looked up at Pillow, "Yeah?"

"You enjoying the movie?" Pillow hadn't thought very far ahead on this. Oh well.

"Uh," Remote hadn't been paying attention at all to the movie, "Yeah."

Pillow looked at Remote, the first time this night, "The movie's alright. Not the best."

Remote nodded as Pillow continues, "Personally, I would prefer something a little more violent."

"I can see that," Remote added to Pillow's comment.

The two went silent for a moment, before Pillow grabbed Remote's hand tighter, and pulled her closer. Remote was incredibly flustered by this motion, especially after Pillow wrapped her arm around Remote's back. Pillow was hugging her! Remote couldn't believe it! For Pillow, she simply liked having Remote around. Besides, Remote is great at multitasking, Pillow figured the two would be able to enjoy the movie in a hug. Pillow wanted Remote near because she missed her, not just because she was a good movie watching buddy.

Remote was getting very flustered, making her warm up. Pillow took note of this - was Remote okay? She really would hate to admit that she cared... But she does. And it tugs at her. It tugs at her like someone trying to pull her away. It is, in a way, pulling her from the movie. She didn't even hate the feeling, she just hated the idea of admitting that she cared. But it continues to tug, to pull, and Pillow eventually can't ignore it. The only thing on her mind.

No higher than a whisper that only Remote would be able to hear, Pillow asked it, "Hey, are you okay? You feel really warm."

"Y- Yeah. I'm fine," Remote internally cringed at her voice glitching slightly, but she couldn't help it.

"Are you sure?" Pillow wasn't convinced, "You aren't usually like this."

Remote nodded, "1- 100%."

Pillow looked Remote in the eyes, using her free hand to hold the top of Remote, before admitting, "I... I'm worried about you. I just want the truth, okay?"

"F- fine..." Remote looked down, afraid that Pillow would be weirded out, "I... h- have a crush... on you. And I have had i- it for years."

Remote looked up to see Pillow smiling, before she spoke, "Some nights, after you were eliminated, I'd dream you were there. Talking with me. I missed you, and I never wanted to admit it. And those dreams... were always something I could never understand. Until I saw love start to bloom around me. I... was crushing on you. So... I guess the feeling's mutual."

"S- so, uh... what now?" Remote asked.

The movie has been nothing more than white noise, even more-so when Pillow leaned down, closing her eyes and wrapping the two in a kiss. Pen, oh so conveniently, decided to look over to see how the rest of Death P.A.C.T. was doing right in the middle of this intimate moment. Fortunately, he was the only one to see it. It wasn't what he expected to see, that was for certain, but he didn't say anything.

After such an intimate moment like a kiss with Pillow, Remote felt as if she were on cloud nine. The rest of the night went without a hitch, Pillow cuddling Remote close as the two joked about the movie. Did either of them know what was truly happening? Of course not, they barely were even paying attention to the movie.

After the movie ended, Pen walked over to the two of them.

"Hey, you two!" He greeted, "How'd you like the movie?"

"It was okay," Pillow admitted. After the intimate moment, she really just went back to her usual self.

Remote nodded, "Not the best thing I've watched."

"Well, it sounded like you two enjoyed it," Pen chuckled, "Me, Liy, and Bottle are gonna head out. See ya!"

After Pen left, Remote and Pillow looked at each other, the former speaking up, "Should we tell someone about us?"

"Eh, I'm sure they'll figure it out!"

Notes:

Did you know that the phrase about being "on cloud nine" comes from old cloud classification systems? Thanks, ADHD! Anyways, here's the new rarepair infecting my brain. Along with Fantree. We all need our Fantree.
