Chapter 1: Apocalyptic Survival with Robot Maid

Chapter Text

Apocalyptic Survival with Robot Maid

The scene shows of a nice-looking build board sign that says "Welcome to… Wakefield" indicating that it's talking about the city which would normally be outside of the town, but everything zooms out showing the build board leans against a small building with very strange roots around.

"Quickly, Jack! This way!" A young woman's voice said.

"I'm being quick as I can!" The boy named Jack shouted.

Then two people jump down from the small building revealing that they are on top of a bigger building being a store, one of them a human boy and the other appears to be a robot dress up as a maid.

"Jack, are you okay?" The robot maid asked.

"Yeah, totally fine, Emmy. Just regretting calling that guy ugly." Jack answered as he grabs his bat.

Jack is a 13-year-old boy with fair skin, straight black hair, dark blue eyes, and a lean physique. He wears a red and white baseball shirt with elbow-length sleeves, a fingerless glove on the right hand, dark blue trousers, and white and red light-up sneakers, which he covers up with duct-tape.

Emmy is a high-end robotic nanny who stands around 160 cm tall, features ball-jointed limbs and segmented fingers and thumbs, pink circles for the cheeks, and has wavy, short, tacao-colored hair. She wears a blue and white maid uniform.

They look up to see the thing that has been chasing the two to be a big purple monster beast with four eyes glaring down at the two with a growl.

"Uh, how you doing, big guy?" Jack asked.

The monster jumps down to attack them only for its prey to move out of the way and one of its arms stuck through the roof, but it still roars at them.

"You are being very rude. All we wanted was to go to the store for Jack to get one thing, is that too much to ask?" Emmy scolded the monster, only getting a roar in response.

"Looks like he doesn't care. Fine then." Jack readied himself to fight the monster.

"Are you sure we can fight this monster, Jack?" Emmy asked.

"No worries, I know what to do." Jack smirked at the monster.

"Dude, you mom's here!" Jack pointed at one direction causing the monster to look in that direction.

"Its mother? I would like to have a few words with her." Emmy fell for that as well; Jack quickly pushes her away as they run again.

But just when they were about to jump over to the next building, the monster grabs both in one clawed hand and brings them up to its face.

"I think we got off on the wrong foot. I'm Jack, this is Emmy…" Jack introduced themselves to the monster.

"How do you do?" Emmy greeted.

"And you are…?" Jack paused if the monster could talk, even though he already knows it couldn't as the monster only roars loudly again.

"Um… Blarg? Nice to meet you." Jack said.

"Now Mister Blarg, you should know better than to eat other people who are just trying to live their lives. How would you like it if something tries to eat you, that wouldn't be pleasant now would it?" Emmy scolded the monster again.

"Yeah, eating people is not cool and you should totally go vegetarian." Jack suggested.

But the monster didn't seem to care nor listen to what they have to say as it roars again, showing its teeth meaning that Blarg wants to eat them now.

"Okay, fine. But you ask for it." Jack swung his bat striking at one of the sharp teeth, but the head part broke off from the impact.

"Alright Emmy, now is time to use that new equipment we put into your fingers." Jack advised her.

"Normally, it's against protocol for a Nandroid to result to violence." Emmy hesitated a little bit, but her expression changes to a little serious.

"But that's only to humans. And you are not one!" Emmy glared at the monster, and she puts on a spikey braze knuckle wired to a taser.

Emmy thrusted her hand forming into a fist to punch the monster right in the with the bottom right eye of the monster that she was able to reach because of how close Blarg made it, this causes Blarg to scream in pain that it got a scar over its eye and that eye got damage.

The pain forces the monster to let both of them go though Emmy held onto Jack and lands right on top of a stack of toilet paper.

"We're alive. I can't believe we're still alive!" Jack cheered.

"I'm happy for our survival of the fall. Now let us find what we came here for." Emmy reminded him of the task at hand.

"Right." Jack nodded.

The two companions of survival started looking around to find a tiny screwdriver he needs for something until Emmy found one tiny screwdriver.

"Jack, I found it!" Emmy informed.

"Finally!" Jack smiled in victory.

They heard Blarg roaring in anger meaning it was time for them to go.

"Fortunate for us with how everything as it is, we do not need to pay even though it's still shoplifting." Emmy pointed out.

"Yeah, and we get to do cool stuff like this!" Jack tried to slide over the hood of a car but only made through a little and force himself to the other side.

"It would seem this car hasn't been waxed for you to slide over." Emmy looked closely, seeing how the hood looks to her.

Jack grabs her arm to pull her into running away just in time because Blarg came down from the building to chase after them for a while, but the two were able to hide behind a bus stop shelter while the monster is sniffing the ground.

"OK, show me your good side, if you have one." Jack held his camera to get a picture of Blarg.

"Blarg: 40-feet tall, stinks like three-day-old flu barf, razor-sharp claws." Jack analyzed the monster.

"Don't forget the spikes on his body. He must use them for defense on his blind spot." Emmy added.

"Right, dangerous spikes." Jack nodded and took the picture, but then he saw Blarg sniffing his backpack.

"Is he smelling my backpack? Never seen that before." Jack raised an eyebrow.

"I think he's trying to pick up your scent like a bloodhound." Emmy theorized, then a car was thrown close to them.

"Oops, overstayed our welcome. Let's move!" Jack ran with Emmy right behind him.

The two ran through the streets into a neighborhood area until they arrive at one house, going through the wooden gate to the backyard where a little girl is playing hacky sack but stop when she sees Jack and Emmy.

"You're back!" The girl ran up to them for a hug on Jack and then to Emmy.

"Was there ever a doubt?" Jack asked with a confidence grin. And showed the tiny screwdriver.

"Cool, did you fight any monsters?" The little girl asked excitedly.

"We certainly did, Madeline! It was big and nasty. Behold!" Jack showed the picture of Blarg.]

"Whoa, that looks meaner than the last one we saw." Madeline was impressed.

Madeline is an 8-year-old girl with brown long brown hair tied into a ponytail by a red bow. She wears a yellow, short-sleeved shirt with puffy sleeves and a brief V-cut neckline, blue pants, and a pair of red bucket-top boots with low heels.

"Now that you have the screwdriver, you can fix the walkie-talkie to contact your friend." Emmy said.

"That's right, but first… It's time to make my video blog." Jack declared.

"Are you really going to make one now? There's not really a lot of people in town to even see it." Madeline gestured being the only people and robot around them.

"Sure, but you never know who could be out there and find my blog. Someone got to know about how awesome I am." Jack bragged before he starts the video camera.

"Monster apocalypse, day 42. This is my home." Jack showed the treehouse then turns the camera to his face.

"It used to be my foster brother's treehouse, but the whole foster fam took off on day one." Jack explained with an uneasy expression as he rolled his eyes.

"So, now it's home to three with me. Jack Sullivan, postapocalyptic, action hero, tough guy survivor. Never scared, and…" Jack was cut off when the sound of a monster roar can be heard.

"Maybe you should do the video blog inside the treehouse." Madeline suggested. Looking a little scared.

"Good idea." Jack agreed. Not that he's scared or anything.

Now Jack shows the inside of the treehouse with Emmy being in the shot while doing some laundry.

"Yes, in case to those who are wondering, that is indeed a real robot and not just any robot, but a robot maid created by the awesome Sterling Robotics company. She doesn't exactly have any cool superpowers like laser eyes or rocket punch, but she's still awesome in my book." Jack introduced Emmy in the blog.

"Oh, why thank you, Jack." Emmy smiled.

"Hey Jack, introduce me!" Madeline begged.

"And here we have another tough, but smaller, survivor named Madeline Delaire. Bravest little squirt you'll ever meet, I took her under my wing to become a heroic adventurer and becoming a big brother role model for her." Jack showed Medeline.

"Oh, like how you needed help with getting a spider out of your shirt yesterday?" Madeline asked teasing.

"Hey, you were scared too!" Jack reminded her.

"At least I tried to do something while you were busy screaming." Madeline countered.

"Alright, you two. How about we tell the people about how… bad the world has become since last month." Emmy suggested.

Now the screen shows Madeline placing a globe of the earth on the table, sitting next to Jack with Emmy on the other side of the globe.

"So, current status—the world is cuckoo bananas." Jack commented as he spins the globe.

"Yeah, zombies roaming the streets looking for more lively victims to eat and giant monsters roaming more dangerous to destroy anything in sight!" Madeline held little figures that look like zombies while Jack used a stuff bunny as the giant monsters.

"When me and Emmy came to this town for a demonstration of her and the other Nandroids, short for Nanny droids, things suddenly went crazy with all those monsters taking over the world!" Madeline tossed the zombie dolls away.

"You probably know what zombies are, but just in case…" The screen statics a bit then shows a zombie. "Spooky eyes, freaky moans, and if they bite you, you're one of them. Undead."

"Best thing to do is to wear protections all over your body to prevent the infection from turning you into a zombie. And distract them with loud noises to get them away from you." Emmy advised.

"But if monsters get you, you're just dead. Finito. Done-zo." Jack mentioned.

"Even Emmy couldn't take on one of them." Madeline said.

"That's because we Nandroids are only built to be slightly stronger than the average humans, but not stronger than any other strong humans to make goof terms with the humans we serve. But we are waterproof." Emmy explained about herself and the other maid robots.

"Which makes you the anchor of the team." Jack joked.

"But Jack, I do not have an anchor, nor did I ever get one. I don't know if we'll ever need one since they are too heavy to carry around and they're only use to hold down boats." Emmy pointed out, not understanding the anchor thing was a joke.

"Yeah, these robo-maids don't have funny bolts in their systems." Jack deadpanned.

"But they're still fun to have around like a best friend for life!" Madeline smiled.

"So, why am I making this video blog thing? I thought it would be cool to have a record of all the awesome things I've done." Jack said before walking into the trunk of the treehouse.

The scene shows three posters of Jack doing things in different outfits and doing different things.

"Jack Sullivan, zombie hunter! Monster Slayer! A kid with the time to play all the video games he wants." Jack proclaimed those things.

"Only to lose to me at one game." Madeline bragged a little.

Now the screen changes to show Jack and Madelina playing a video game together with Emmy behind the beanbag to observe them, Jack is struggling very much while Madeline is calm and confident as she pressed one button winning the game.

"Yay! Madeline wins Crash Bandicoot Rumble again!" Emmy cheered.

"How are you so good at this game?!" Jack asked in utter shock.

"I became hooked on Crash the Bandicoot just two months ago and already finished the remake versions. Still on the fourth game." Madeline explained.

Next, Jack is standing on the balcony of the treehouse.

"See, I'm, like, genetically superhero-type equipped for solitude. Well, before Madeline and Emmy. I'm an orphan, which means I don't have parents." Jack revealed that sad part of his life.

The scene shows of the different people he had to live with because of the foster care system, but none of them could ever make him feel like he really belonged with any of those people and never found the family that could give him comfort.

"I've lived in a lot of places with a lot of different people… but I never had a family." Jack explained.

"And a little message to the Robinson family. I hope you all end up in the bad place when you die!" Madeline yelled, face-close to the camera in anger.

"Madeline Delaire! We do not say such things to other people we don't know." Emmy gasped.

"But those people are mean abandoned Jack. They deserve some punishment!" Madeline believed.

"Kid became like the little sister I never had." Jack smiled at the camera.

"So, now my life is basically the plot of a video game. I even have my own feats of apocalyptic success. For example…" Jack pulled out a cardboard with a picture of a shield thing you see in games for the feats.

The scene shows Jack snatching a hat from a zombie from a tree branch with four other hats in that same tree.

"Yoink! Mad Hatter. Steal the hats from five zombies." The branch broke off causing Jack to fall.

Madeline runs up to the hairy leg of a big monster to up to the cabs of the beast and ride the leg like there's no tomorrow.

"Monster rider, Hitch a ride on a beast. Madeline stole that feat from me, but it was pretty cool seeing her ride that beast." Jack commented.

"I am the Queen of Beasts!" Madeline yelled.

"Madeline, be careful not to fall of or if that beast is clean!" Emmy worried.

"Hygiene Hero! Maintain basic cleanliness after the end of the world." Jack flossed his teeth in front of a mirror.

Now we see Emmy cleaning up the house, making sure there aren't any dusts around though she has had a hard time removing the roots.

"House Secure of Comfort. Emmy goes down to the house to do some cleaning, because that's kinda what she was made to do, and to get everything ready when we do find her other robot maid friends along with Madeline's friends." Jack explained that part.

"The roots kept coming back whenever I pull them out. So, I decided to leave them be as the new decor of the house." Emmy explained.

"Now, pay attention." Jack came up with a book in his hand.

"There is one ultimate feat of postapocalyptic success—rescue the damsel in distress." Jack revealed the book to be a yearbook with one girl to be the girl Jack wants to rescue. "June Del Toro, my crush." He smiled.

"Ugh, are you talking about that June girl again?" Madeline asked, a little grossed out from the romance talk.

"Hey, I'll have you know that June is THE Awesome girl of all times. She's dainty and sweet." Jack smiled.

Scene changes to June playing field hockey, and she's being the opposite of dainty and sweet as Jack describes.

"Let's go, you weenies! Out of my way! Move or be moved!" June powered through the opposing team.

June has light brown skin, wavy dark brown hair tied in a ponytail, freckles, and medium brown eyes.

"My arm!" The referee exclaimed in pain when June bumped into him so hard that she accidentally dislocated his arm.

"Sorry!" June apologized before making the winning goal.

"She was the editor of our school paper, so I joined the paper as a photographer. I figured she'd see how charming I was, and it worked perfectly." Jack proclaimed.

Jack showed some photos he took to June, and she responded what any editor would do.

"You call this photojournalism, Sullivan? I need hard news! This issue isn't gonna write itself, people!" June yelled.

"One time, she hugged Benny McCutchin, so I ran over and hugged him, and I got a secondhand hug! Weird, but totally worth it." Jack mentioned.

"Do you really think she's out there, alive and not… zombies?" Madeline and smacked one zombie in the head with a hockey stick.

"With all my heart. And she'll see how cool I am and totally worthy of being crushed upon." Jack smirked.

"Oh brother." Madeline rolled her eyes.

"I think it's wonderful that Jack wants to find the girl he loves and prove his love to her." Emmy believed.

"That's right. I will complete the ultimate feat of apocalyptic success! Feat not yet completed." Jack sighed at the last part.

"And I'll be there to take the picture upon request when you complete the feat." Emmy smiled, holding the camera in her hands.

World Ending Day Uniting a New Family

"But first, I have to fix this walkie so I can reach my best friend, Quint, hopefully." Jack turned the tiny screwdriver to put in the last screw into the walkie-talkie, then static came almost shocking him.

"D-d-d-d! Bajingo!" Jack smiled in joy.

"Yay, you fixed it!" Emmy clapped in cognates to Jack while Madeline smiles.

"Captain Danger to Corporal Tiger-Pants. Quint? Are you there? Hello?" Jack quickly spoke into the walkie to see if his buddy Quint is on the other walkie getting the signal, but there was no response because there are only static sounds.

"He's not answering." Madeline started to get a little worried.

"He's probably doing an experiment right not or on the toilet, or both." Jack hoped that's the case.

"How does one do science experiments while taking a bathroom break? Wouldn't it be difficult for him to do whichever he's doing on the toilet?" Emmy asked in confusion.

"Huh, that is a good question." Jack said, a little weird though he's used to weird stuff by one.

"Oh, and just to let you know that I'm not alone at the treehouse. I'm actually with others, a little girl named Madeline and her robot maid Emmy, the Nandroids we heard about and were going to see before the world ended." Jack introduced them into the walkie.

"It is an honor to meet you." Emmy greeted into the walkie.

"We would also like to know if you've seen other little kids with Nandroids like us." Madeline said, hoping to get some info about her friends.

No response again which is making Jack feel uneasy that he isn't hearing anything from his best friend in the whole world, having to go through over a month without hearing a word from him.

"I'm not worried that you're not responding. I'm not worried at all. Anyway, I'm here… With friends, just the three of us." Jack looked out the window, really hoping Quint is still alive out there.

"I believe it's time for bed, Jack. I'm sure your friend is also resting for another day of surviving." Emmy advised.

"Okay." Jack nodded, thinking it's a good idea.

"Okay, talk soon, buddy. Hope you're enjoying the end of the world." Jack placed the walkie-talkie down and letting out a sigh of sadness.

Emmy sets up the couch bed for the kids to sleep on, something they found a few blocks from one of the houses in the neighborhood and took it for themselves even though Emmy was against this at first, but Jack pointed out that nobody would care about this with no one else living there.

"Goodnight, Madeline. Goodnight, Jack." Emmy said to the kids.

"Goodnight, Emmy." Jack and Madeline said together.

Emmy is happy to see them having another good day despite all the bad things that have happened to them since last month, and she will continue performing her duty as a Nandroid no matter what. She steps into her recharging chamber and went into sleep mode.

"Man, it's only been one month and almost two weeks since the world changed forever." Madeline mentioned.

"Yeah, makes you wonder how it all happened so suddenly." Jack recalled the event that happened last month.

Jack: Forty-two days ago, when the world changed forever.

The scene shows Jack sitting on one of the seats in a school bus heading for the middle school with a boring expression and drinking a juice box, and his best friend Quit spoke to get his attention.

"Jack, marvelous news. Bottle-rocket launcher plans, complete." Quint informed.

Quint Baker has brown skin, brown eyes, black curly hair and a lean physique similar to his friend Jack. He wears a purple shirt with a neck-collar and two pink strips in the middle, light brown pants, and brown sneakers.

"Rad!" Jack smiled.

"Double rad!" Quint added.

"Triple rad!" They both said in union of their best friend bond.

"Wanna test its explosive capabilities after school?" Quint asked with a exciting grin.

"Quint, that's is 100% all I wanna do." Jack answered.

"Though I kinda thought you'd be more excited about the robot maids coming to our school we've been hearing about." Jack mentioned.

"Of course, I'm excited, Jack. Sterling Robotics is one of, if not THE leading robot manufacturers with many things with the Nandroids being their crowning achievements! It's always been my dream to work there after university, to see the ways of how they do robotics and make some incredible ones of my own design." Quint expressed how he admires the company.

"I wanted to know what their Nandroids are like up close, and now I get to meet them in person. One step closer to my dream!" Quint felt excited.

"I want to see if those robot maids can shoot rocket punches and laser eyes!" Jack imagined asking one of the robot maids shooting their laser eyes to destroy a wall.

"Uh, Jack… You should know something." Quint said, knowing that Jack is not going to like what he's about to tell him about the Nandroids.

(Another Bus)

"Wow, so this is Wakefield." Madeline looked out the window with Emmy.

"It's certainly a wonderful town, much more settle and less busy than back in Beacon City." Emmy commented.

"I still can't believe that my parents are allowing me to come here with you just to show some people who great the Nandroids are. I never travelled outside this far from home before." Madeline mentioned.

"Neither have we. So, it'll be a new experience for the both of us." Ajay Khatri pointed out.

"Just make sure you don't do anything that could make us look immature. We are to present the Nandroid for the company to expand their reach to a small town like this, so let's do our best here." Corbin Mendenhall stated.

"That's a good boy, Corbin. Good to know that one of the children knows we're not here on vacation." Molly nodded with a grin.

"Huh, but I thought we came here for the beach. I even packed swimsuits and sunblock." Amy was confused.

"No, Amy. We came here because the Sterling Robotics company wants us to show what we Nandroids are capable of in helps to serve the public." Molly explained in annoyance of Amy being an airhead.

"Can we at least be allowed to explore the town? I think we just pass a movie theater." Michelle Spiegel-Pryce wanted to see what kind of movies they have here.

"We'll have to see after the demonstration, Michelle. But I have no doubt those older kids will be impress with our presence and maybe even be envious that they couldn't afford us." Polly stated.

"Oh, I couldn't agree with you more." Molly chuckled.

"We wanna see if they have the comic book we've been looking for!" Nathan and Ryan Flagg said together.

"Just remember not to spend all the money your parents gave you for the trip." Franny advised.

"They said we're going to be in their town for a week, and the parents will be here in three days, that means we'll have plenty of time to see so much of what the town has to offer." Emmy reminded them of how long they're gonna be here.

"I can't wait!" Franny smiled.

"Hey, I just saw a robot moving so wiggly and weird waving hello." Amy said.

"Amy, that was an inflatable mascot for a store get costumers' attention." Polly pointed out.

"Do you think we'll meet some new robots here?" Madeline asked.

"I'm sure they would be nice folks along with the people, making new friends is also a good thing for children to have good outlook on the world." Emmy stated.

"But we'll be meeting with older kids, how are supposed to make friends with them?" Madeline asked.

"I'm sure there are some older kids who wouldn't mind being friends with you." Emmy hoped.

Madeline looks out the window considering what the robot maid said, but then she notices something odd going on in the sky.

(Back with Jack)

"Hey!" A guy called out to Jack and Quint making them jump in fear.

One tall boy walks up to them with a menacing smile.

"Kid, your "sammich" stinks like squirrel butt." The taller boy insulted and takes the sandwich for himself and ate it. "I stinks, but it don't taste too bad." He commented.

Jack hates this guy for always picking on him and Quint for no reason just because he's bigger and stronger than them and taking this any longer that he squeezes the juice out the juice box and goes confronts the bully.

"Why don't you—Huh… Pick on someone your own size, huh, Dirk?" Jack talked back at the bully while trying to reach for the sandwich but then fell over.

"Find someone my size, and I will." Dirk said sarcastically.

Dirk is the largest of the other kids in middle school; with having physique compared to that of a boxer. Dirk appears to be more of a high-school teenager approaching his mid-late teens. He has dirty blonde hair fashioned into a mohawk while the rest of his head is shaved. He wears a pair of cargo shorts with steel-toed boots and a green jacket with a gray shirt underneath. His hands are wrapped or bandaged in gauze. His eye color is dark green.

"Hmm, like a rotund panda bear?" Jack smirked, but that only seem to make Dirk angry as he grabs him back the shirt.

"Jack, we have a problem here. Dirk won't be able to find a panda bear to pick on. They're an endangered species." Quint pointed out.

My fist is about to make Jack an endangered species!" Dirk smirked, reeling his fist back to punch Jack in the face.

But suddenly the bus stopped at the school at the same time as the other bus with the Nandroids for everyone to hear lots of screaming coming from outside, everyone looks out the window to see lots of people and several robots running for their lives.

"What's going on?" Madelina asked.

"Maybe it has something to do with the giant hole in the sky." Amy looked out of the window on the other side of the bus.

"Amy, that is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. There is no such thing as A GIANT HOLE IN THE SKY?!" Molly screamed in shock as she spotted the hole as well.

"That's not the only thing!" Ajay was shocked upon what he is seeing next.

"Quint, you know stuff. This must be a joke, right? Some prank show?" Jack asked, hoping this isn't really bad and scary.

Then the ground started to shake causing the bus to shake too until suddenly a pair of claws pierces through the bus by the window picking it up and shows the eye of a giant monster that has also picked up the Nandroid bus.

Everyone screams in fear as the monster holds the two buses side up causing the people to fall off.

"This is fine. I love when buses do this." Jack tried to act calm despite panicking on the inside.

"Buses don't usually do this!" Quint pointed out as they fall out off the bus.

The Nandroids quickly grab onto their kids to protect them from the fall which wasn't high, but now they all look around to see not only giant monsters appearing out of nowhere but the undead are walking among the living.

"Jack!" Quint panicked.

"Emmy!" Madeline was scared.

"What's going on here?!" Quint and Madeline unknowingly asked the same question.

"I don't know, buddy." Jack freaked out.

"I don't know. I was not programed to be prepared for such an event like this." Emmy feared that this could be really bad for Madeline.

"Wow, I had no idea this school was doing a festival." Amy was amazed.

"This is NOT a festival, Amy?!" The twins yelled at her.

Jack and Quint quickly look up to see the same big hole in the sky that appeared to be causing the unknown monstrous event that is happening right now.

"I don't think that was there yesterday, because I'm fairly certain I would have remembered." Quint freaked out of the impossible things that should not be happening nor should be real in the first place, but it's all real and really scary.

Jack gasp when he saw his crush drop to the ground.

"June! June, behind you!" Jack warned June about a zombie behind her.

June has light brown skin, wavy dark brown hair tied in a ponytail, freckles, and medium brown eyes. She wears a white undershirt, a light turquoise shirt, a dark blue hoodie, black jeans, fingerless gloves on both hands with a spiked bracelet on one wrist and teal trainers.

June gasp upon seeing the zombie, and a giant foot came in stomping on the zombie and apparently June, much to Jack's horror, but June was able to get away from the foot and into the foot giving relief to Jack.

"This is crazy?!" Madeline pointed out.

"Like more holes in the sky, then yes!" Corbin held onto Molly.

"I'll say. I'm panicking like crazy?!" Michelle screamed and starts running away.

"Michelle, come back!" Polly ran after the little girl.

"Quickly, Madeline. We must get to the nearest shelter!" Emmy grabbed Madeline's hand and start running.

"Come, friend." Quint grabbed Jack's hand to start running.

Jack and Quint ran through the parking lot and hide behind one car while one giant monster threw a water tower away, and then one monster with wings took the car.

"Hey, that's our cover!" Jack yelled.

"Please tell me that this is a normal thing in this town?" Madeline asked worry, she and Emmy hiding in the same car.

"I can assure you that it is not normal." Quint answered.

"Less talking and more running from the zombies!" Jack advised them to run.

"Wrong turn?!" Quint yelled when there's a zombie in front of them.

Quint thinks quickly and opens a door from the car to block that zombie, but another zombie came from inside the car.

"I do believe it is unwise to open another person's car without their permission." Emmy said.

"Not the time, Emmy. Run!" Madeline said as they run again.

"Hope you guys feel better!" Jack said.

Jack climbs to the top of the car as the others do the same running from car to car, at least the zombies won't be able to get them like this, for a while.

"Do you two know the nearest shelter for such an emergency?" Emmy asked the boys.

"I'm afraid Wakefield isn't equipped with an emergency shelter for the Apocalypse." Quint answered honestly in fear.

"Isn't there any place that can be safe for us?" Madeline asked, almost fell down but Jack grabs her and places the little girl on his back.

"We can go to Joe's Pizza. It's Wednesday. Two-for-one slices." Jack suggested, hoping to calm themselves from the Apocalyptic chaotic that is happening around them with pizza.

But Jack lost his balance when a car almost hit him and Madeline causing them to fall off, but Jack was able to protect her, and Emmy quickly came back for them.

"Dude, focus! Do you have your walkie?" Quint asked.

Jack tries to search for the walkie, but a zombie from under a car grabs it trying to attack the boy.

"Emmy, help!" Madeline cried out.

"Excuse me, mister undead, but that isn't yours!" Emmy grabbed the zombie and toss it away.

"Thanks, can't wait to see your laser eyes." Jack thanked the robot maid.

"I don't have laser eyes." Emmy informed.

But now was not the time and they run away to hide behind another car.

"Got it." Jack showed that he has his walkie-talkie.

"Superb! I'll go to my house, you go to yours. No matter what, we stay in touch." Quint said.

"Deal." Jack promised as they hold hands.

"What about us?" Madeline asked, right when a giant monster crushed the car beneath its feet.

"You two come with me. Hopefully my stupid foster family are still there." Jack decided to bring them along.

"What about my friends and Emmy's friends?" Madeline asked, worry about the others having to face this crazy thing too.

"I'm sure they'll be fine. What's important right now is that we stay alive no matter what!" Jack said.

"He's right, we must get moving now!" Emmy agreed, and they run for lives toward Jack's house. Hoping to get shelter from all the crazy things and hope for their friends to survive too.

Chapter 3: Going Through Living in a Treehouse

Chapter Text

Going Through Living in a Treehouse

Jack, Emmy, and Madeline sneak through the neighborhood doing their best to avoid the zombies but they do have an idea of using Emmy as a metal shield to protect them from the zombies since robots can't be turned because they're made of metal than flesh.

"Are we at your house yet?" Madeline asked.

"Yes, we are." Jack smiled, looking over across the street to see the house of his foster family he's been staying with for days.

"Oh, and look, they're already packed and waiting for you in the car. Would they mind if we come along?" Emmy asked.

"Maybe if—Hey!" Jack gasped when the car moves back and drives away from the house.

Jack quickly jumps over the bush and chase after the car shouting to get his foster family's attention only to be ignored completely as they never cared about Jack to begin with, they just leave him behind to deal with the crazy thing that is happening while they get to safety.

"Lousy new foster family. I'm here!" Jack was angered.

"Oh my, perhaps they did not see you coming and assume you were with others." Emmy guessed.

"No, they definitely saw me and didn't care that I even existed." Jack assured with an angry glare.

"I can't believe a family would do that. I suddenly feel angry that I want to punch something!" Madeline felt anger rising up.

"While violence is never the answer, the more appropriate response to this is the feeling of disappointment at those who fail at being human beings." Emmy said.

"Cool, cool, but let's be disappointed at my foster family off the street!" Jack said as one zombie tries to grab them.

They quickly ran into the backyard of the house though one zombie followed them.

"The treehouse!" Jack pointed at the treehouse, and they ran for the latter, letting the girls climb up girls.

"You don't want to eat these brains. I'm not as smart as I look. Aah!" Jack felt his leg being grabbed by the zombie.

"You definitely shouldn't go for the other ones. The kid is probably too sweet, and the other one is metal that can ruin your teeth." Jack mentioned while kicking the zombie to let go.

However, the struggle causes the walkie-talkie in his backpack to fall off, bounce off the zombie's face, and broke apart when it landed on a rock.

"No!" Jack gasped. How is he supposed to stay in touch with Quint now?

"Jack, hurry!" Emmy called out.

Jack climbs up and pulls up the latter to prevent the zombie from climbing up, the zombie just walks away to wander in the streets, but Jack groans in disappointment that he lost his walkie.

"Are we going to be safe in here?" Madeline asked, looking inside the treehouse.

"It would appear that we are the only ones here, and it would be wise to remain up here until rescue comes for us. If you don't mind us staying with you, Jack." Emmy requested.

"Sure, better than being up here all alone." Jack shrugged.

"I wonder if this is happening to the rest of the world. What if my parents are in danger?!" Madeline felt worried about her parents.

"Hey, hey, don't worry. Since you're from a rich family from the looks of it, they're probably being protected as we speak. For now, we just stay here and hope for the best…" Jack sighed, sitting at a corner.

Madeline and Emmy look at each other for a moment then sat close to Jack with the former sitting on a beanbag chair.

"How long do you think it'll take before we're rescued?" Madeline asked.

"I'm unsure, but I know your parents will not rest until they find you in one piece." Emmy believed.

"But with everything happening right now, I'm more worried they might get hurt. Not to mention my new baby sibling is on the way!" Madeline mentioned about her unborn sibling.

"Oh, you're going to be a big sister soon. When?" Jack asked.

"Mrs. Delaire is only in her fifth month of pregnancy." Emmy answered.

"Ouch, hate to be that baby to see the apocalypse as the first time to see in the world." Jack flinched at the thought as he looks out the window.

The scene zooms out from the treehouse showing all of Wakefield being turned into a post-apocalyptic land of danger and other unknown things that is not of this world, and a new reality humanity will have to live with from now on.

Jack: Ok, so that happened. And every day after that was like living in a whole new world!

(New World, Day 1)

Jack and Madeline are just laying their backs on the table while whistling a tone together and patting their bellies like drums, Emmy is keeping herself busy by doing some cleaning around the treehouse.

(Day 2)

"Oh dear, this could be a problem." Emmy started to get worried.

"What's the matter, Emmy?" Jack asked.

"It's my battery power. I'm just down to below half of it and I'll need to recharge soon, but my recharging chamber was on the bus we came in. Back at the school." Emmy informed.

"And I'm getting hungry." Madeline rubbed her belly as it growls.

"Me too…" Jack rubbed his own stomach, then he spotted a worm crawling next to his foot and picks it up.

"Jack Sullivan, you better not be thinking about eating that worm!" Emmy said, not liking what Jack is doing.

"What? I've seen reality survival shows, they eat worms like this all the time." Jack stated.

"Maybe for them, but I cannot allow you to eat such a thing much less getting Madeline to eat it." Emmy snatched the worm from Jack.

"Yeah, I wouldn't even if I was super hungry. Which I am…" Madeline said.

"Okay, okay, no worms." Jack decided not to eat the worm and look around until he looks up to see a big briefcase on one of the support beams of the ceiling.

"Loot box! Courtesy of my lame-o foster brother." Jack gasped with a smile.

"Why does he leave that up on the ceiling?" Emmy asked in confusion.

"It's to keep me from getting it, but he always slows on remembering that I'm taller than him." Jack answered then grabs the rope to pull the briefcase down.

"Does it have any food in there?" Madeline asked.

"Let me see…" Jack started sniffing the briefcase. "Cheese singles. Chocolate creamies. Onion Ring-a-Lings. Slightly expired Sour Ranch Tortitos." Jack smiled upon knowing those amazing smells.

"We shall be hungry no more!" Jack cheered.

"How do you even know all of that? Are you part bloodhound for junk food?" Madeline asked in surprise.

"I'm just one awesome guy who knows his favorite munchies." Jack bragged with a smirk.

"Now, we just need to open this case." Jack removed the wrap.

"Think you can get it to open?" Jack asked Emmy.

"I'm not program to picklocks for it is polite and sign of robbery of invading someone's property." Emmy mentioned.

"Yeah, but that was back before the world became crazy with the monsters and zombies taking over the town. And the treehouse is now our new home, meaning everything in it is ours including this loot box." Jack pointed it out.

"I suppose you have a point given the current circumstances." Emmy started to see that.

Emmy takes a look at the briefcase and presses down on the top and releases it, letting it open by itself, seeing that the case wasn't even locked.

"Here you go." Emmy said and Jack opens the case showing all the delicious treats inside.

"Wow! It's like a treasure chest of candies and treats!" Madeline was amazed.

"That's right, from what I'm looking at, this could last us for months if we're responsible." Jack stated by his own estimate.

"Hold it right there!" Emmy immediately closed the case.

"You're not suggesting to only eat all that junk food? It's very unhealthy to eat these every day, your body would become slow and unreliable to survive out there should we need to get more food, and you can get very sick from it." Emmy scolded Jack.

"But it's the only food supply we have right now." Jack gestured to the case.

"Nonsense, I believe there are still plenty of food left inside the house." Emmy said as she goes out.

"You're going outside? But what about the zombies?" Jack asked in shock.

"I should be because I am a robot, I cannot be turn into a zombie. Though I will need your help to perhaps find other things in the house since you live there." Emmy said as she pushes the latter down.

Jack looks at Madeline, who is still hungry, starting to think about what Emmy said about eating healthily and it's probably best for the little kid.

"Hang tight, Madeline. We'll be back. Then we can have some of that for dessert." Jack said before leaving the treehouse.

Jack and Emmy enter the house into the kitchen and find plenty of food in the fridge including some vegetables, then Emmy starts cooking up a tasty dish that is both healthy and delicious for them to eat.

Then she presents the fancy-like gourmet dish to both children, Madeline eats it humming in delight while Jack hesitates a little until he took a bite, and his eyes widen with surprise.

"I've never eaten anything so amazing in my whole life!" Jack gasped.

"Emmy! You have proven yourself worthy with the skills to turn any food into a meal fit for a king, I hereby declare you head chef to cook all of our meals from now on!" Jack declared, sounding almost like royalty.

"I am honor." Emmy smiled.

"Yay!" Madeline cheered.

(Day 3)

"Okay, so let see what we can find that can help recharge your battery." Jack looked around in the garage with Emmy.

"My recharging system is not exactly like a phone, if only my chamber was with me." Emmy said, looking sad.

"Maybe we could go look for it, but until then, we'll have to settle with… Bajingo! This car battery!" Jack presented the car battery.

"Oh, and we can use these jumper cables to connect you with them." Jack spotted the cables.

Jack is now going to connect the cables into Emmy's wires that she was able to guide him through, he connects the cable and Emmy started to feel her energy recharging.

"Here, let's have you carry it around for a while until we get your chamber." Jack tied the car battery onto Emmy from the back.

"I suppose it will do. Thank you for the assist, Jack." Emmy thanked, making him smile.

(Day 10)

Jack and Emmy are walking on the street together with Madeline because the little girl wanted to wear some new clothes since she's not gonna be going back to school anytime soon, they hope that the monsters didn't destroy any clothing store.

"Hold up!" Madeline stopped and pointed at something.

Jack and Emmy look up to see one of the big monsters nearby walking down the street towards them, they quickly hide inside a building, but Emmy saw something.

"I don't believe it!" Emmy was shocked.

"What is it?" Jack asked.

"It's my recharging chamber; it's over there in that building!" Emmy pointed at one building where the recharging chamber is sticking out like a sore thumb.

"Whoa, what are the chances!" Jack was surprised.

Once the monster was gone, they quickly get to work on getting the recharge chamber down with Madeline getting the idea of using a trash dumpster to carry it back home.

They managed to push the chamber out of the building and push the dumpster all the way home, they even managed to make a pully to get the chamber into the treehouse.

(Day 16)

"Looks like a successful grocery shopping if I do say so myself." Emmy smiled, pushing the cart of groceries she got from the store up the hill.

Then a zombie appeared from behind a fence.

"Hello ma'am, lovely day we're having." Emmy greeted the zombie, not scared as she kept pushing.

(Day 23)

Jack is seen riding a pink girly bike around some streets.

"June Del Toro! Hello? Are you around?" Jack called out.

"It's Jack Sullivan. I'm trying to do a rescue thing." Jack said.

But suddenly a tentacle monster shows up grabbing the bike, forcing Jack to run for his life as the monster eats the bike.

(Day 27)

"Yes! Now these are the boots that goes with this outfit!" Madeline smiled, putting out a pair of boots she'll be wearing from now on.

"Oh, and it comes with a taser too." Madeline found a taser inside one boot.

(Day 30)

"Oh yeah, this would make a better bed for us." Jack nodded at the couch bed they found.

"And it's one of the new ones too!" Madeline said, on board with getting this bed.

"I'm not sure if it's right to take something that doesn't belong to you." Emmy hesitated to commit what feels like a crime.

"Don't worry, with how this house is abandoned, it's free for all." Jack shrugged.

(Day 34)

"Alright, ready for testing." Jack gave a thumbs up at Emmy who is standing by.

"Zipline rope ready." Emmy said.

Jack jumps off the balcony of the treehouse and zipline all the way to the house through an open window, but he crash-landed on the floor and on a wall.

"Perfect landing!" Jack cheered.

"Incoming!" Madeline shouted, coming in through the zipline and landed on Jack, and the two share a laughing moment together.

(Day 39)

Jack and Madeline are running through a horde of zombies as a race and being very careful not to let a single one of them touch them, ran across the finish line with Emmy doing a photo finish.

(Day 42)

Now the scene is back to the night when Jack finished fixing the walkie-talkie, trying to call Quint but didn't get an answer, then the kids went to sleep while Emmy enter her chamber.

(Day 43. Today)

Jack and Madeline are still sleeping together while Emmy has woken up earlier to do her usual duty as a Nandroid when suddenly…

"Corporal Tiger-Pants to Captain Danger! Jack, are you receiving?" Quint talked through the walkie-talkie.

Jack immediately woke up upon hearing his best friend's voice and jump off the couch bed to grab the walkie.

"Quint! I'm here! Jack on the mic." Jack answered the walkie.

"Jack! Yes!" Quint felt happy to hear from his best friend for the first time in over a month.

"You're not dead!" Jack said happily.

"Neither are you!" Quint said and the two laugh happily together.

"Oh Jack, I'm so happy that you are able to talk to you friend again." Emmy smiled.

"Yeah. Oh, dude, I'm not alone. I'm with two, one is a Nandroid named Emmy, and a little girl named Madeline." Jack informed.

"No way! I'm with a Nandroid and a kid too!" Quint shouted in shock.

"Jack, could you keep it down? I'm trying to sleep here." Madeline complained with a yawn.

"But I believe now it's the right time to let you know I am doing fine." Corbin said through the walkie, causing Madeline to realize this in shock.

"Corbin! You're alive!" Madeline was shocked, and relieved to hear him again.

"That's right, Molly and I took refuge with Quint when we ran into him." Cobrin said.

"And I've been doing my best to keep them alive." Molly said.

"Molly! It is so good to hear from you again!" Emmy smiled, feeling good to hear from one of her fellow Nandroids again.

"Okay, we're on our way!" Jack said before hanging up on the walkie.

Jack dashes over to the board of holds the entire map of the town.

"Okay, now to get to Quint's house." Jack said before turning around to face Madeline and Emmy.

"Men…"

"Ahem." Emmy coughed to correct Jack.

"Sorry. Ladies, this won't be easy. The path is perilous. Zombie hordes. Dozer lairs. Monstrous, vine-thingy jungles. And the big guys—Octogrute, Tentaclefiend. And who knows what else." Jack listed all the dangerous things out there they could run into.

"We're ready. Nothing is going to stop me from seeing my friend!" Madeline saluted.

"That's what I like to hear. Time to suit up!" Jack smirked.

Jack, Emmy, and Madeline prepare themselves for the dangerous outing with everything they could carry then move out.

Chapter 4: Reuniting with Smart Best Friends!

Chapter Text

Reuniting with Smart Best Friends!

"Let's boogie." Jack smiled.

Jack, Emmy, and Madeline go through the streets and under the bridge being very careful not to let themselves get caught by monsters and zombies, making sure the area is clear and moving fast so they don't get into big trouble with them.

Now they sneak through the tall grassy field seeing as everything is clear until they had a loud thud noise causing them to look over to see a giant monster is here as well.

"Oh no, that's a Dozer!" Madeline gasped quietly.

"Crazy strong. Thick skin protects the internal organs. They eat zombies. And possibly still-breathing dudes like us. Luckily, they're slow and dumb, so we'll just" Emmy tapped his shoulder to tell him that there's another Dozer behind them.

"We just have to move fast before they can try hurting us." Emmy said.

"But which house is Quint's?" Madeline asked.

"That would be" Jack was about to answer that question when something was blasted right at one of the Dozers exploding into fireworks.

"The one with the guy shooting fireworks from that rooftop!" Jack smiled and pointed at Quint sitting on the rooftop and firing fireworks from a makeshift rocket launcher at the Dozers.

"Move quickly while the enemy is disoriented!" Quint advised before firing another firework.

"His timing is impeccable!" Jack commented as they move to a fence with a door into a backyard with several zombies.

"More of them? Are you sure we can't just put them down for good?" Madeline asked Jack, not liking these things to deal with them so often.

"I know these are horrifying, but it's not their fault they're undead. So, please just ask them politely to step… a… side!" Jack pushed three zombies away and Emmy pushed another one back.

Then they encountered a large chubby zombie blocking their path until Molly appeared behind the zombie and surprisingly lifts it up and threw him out of the backyard.

"Molly! When were you that strong?" Emmy asked in shock.

"I'll tell you about it later. Just come inside." Molly helped them get inside the house where Quint quickly closes the door.

"Quint!" Jack smiled at his best friend.

"Jack!" Quint smiled too and they do a friendship handshake together.

"Corbin!" Madeline hugged.

"It's great to finally see you, Madeline." Corbin returned the hug.

"Molly, my motherboards are screaming with joy to see you still in one piece!" Emmy smiled at her fellow Nandroid.

"Same here, I wasn't sure if I was ever going to see you again!" Molly giggled and they shared a hugging moment.

Fear complete. Buddies reunited.

Madeline was really happy to see her friend again and can see that Jack feels the same way, now their group has become even bigger which means it'll be a little easier to survive, she can only hope that her parents are okay too.

"I believe we should continue this reuniting moment up at the lab, so we don't see the zombies outside." Corbin suggested, feeling grossed out from seeing one zombie pressing its face on the glass.

"Right this way." Quint said.

Molly serves Jack and Madeline drinks and gives Emmy a little oil to help loosen her jolts a bit.

"So, Quint was able to upgrade your physical strength twice as strong?" Emmy asked Molly about what she just told her.

"3 times stronger, but yes, this genius is a lot smarter than we thought when he's been studying on our designs and such for years and even making his own plans on making his own version." Molly explained.

"It was just a little something I wanted to show Mr. Sterling, to help improve his robotic techs, but with the world as it is… I may never get the chance." Quint sighed.

"But you were able to do it by making Molly stronger." Corbin pointed out.

"And we've been helping Quint studying the monsters with classifying them by genus and species. Just two days ago, we graded their skill sets and abilities." Corbin mentioned.

"Glad to see you have been doing okay after this month of zombies and monsters." Madeline said.

"Quint, are you the only ones here? What about your parents?" Madeline asked.

"They're out on a cruise ship before all of this happened. So, I must believe they're still out there safe." Quint answered.

"But—" Jack was about to point out that there might be a possibility that they're not alive out there.

"It is what I choose to believe." Quint refused to think of anything bad happening to his parents.

"And what about that weird babysitter?" Jack asked.

"Oh, she got zombified straightaway." Quint answered.

"She's locked away in a closet downstairs. Actually, we've actually been doing some studying on the zombies to see if there is a way to revert them back to their original state." Corbin said.

"You mean like curing them from being the undead?" Madeline asked in surprise.

"Isn't that what I just said?" Corben asked back, feeling like there's an echo.

"But unfortunately, we haven't been able to find anything that could be remotely close to curing the zombies." Quint sighed.

As much as he wants to hear more of Quint's science talk and hang out together like they've always done, Jack didn't want to spend another minute in this spooky house with the zombies right in the backyard.

"Bud, this place is spooky quiet. Let's blow this join, head to the treehouse for video game time!" Jack offered Quint and those two to come live with them at the treehouse.

"Yeah, we got plenty of room in the house if you want and lots of random stuff, we found that you might be able to make them into something cool!" Madeline said.

"We can't just leave." Corbin turned down the offer.

"He's right, our research is here, and we need to keep on studying." Quint agreed with him.

"But you guys can study at the treehouse, and we also found three chemistry kit that you two could use." Madeline mentioned with a sly grin.

"And I also perfected my own neon summit-drip slushie formula. Extra sugar, triple caffeine, guaranteed eye-spinning gamer rush." Jack mentioned with his own grin.

"Something I could not stop Jack from doing." Emmy said.

"This slushie sounds nonsense to make." Corbin commented before he and Quint look at each other for a second.

"We'll gather our things." They said at the same time.

"Molly, get Big Mama ready for departure to our new home." Corbin ordered his Nanadroid.

"Huh, who's Big Mama?" Jack asked in confusion.

"What a who, but a what. Follow me." Molly smiled.

Molly led them to the garage and turn on the lights to show them the big red truck that looks amazing to the kids, even Emmy seems impressed.

"Did Quint and Corbin make that?" Emmy asked.

"With some help from me, yes. This here is Big Mama, let me show you some of its features." Molly smiled.

"Arrow turret for long-range hit for one use. Bottle-rocket launchers blast away any zombies in the way. Butter-slick slingers to make any chasing us a slip us. Any gear that to help to our travel safe, I even added some extra protection for the wheels and a backup arrow turret for behind." Molly bragged.

"Of course, one must always be prepared for any sort of situation when you got out on the road." Molly twirled the key around her finger.

"Does she always like to brag?" Jack asked Emmy.

"Molly has always been the more confidence out of the five of us, but there are times when she can be a bit much." Emmy admitted.

"Much to do things that no other Nandroids can do!" Molly smirked.

"Oh, those mice are so cute!" Madeline looked at the mice in the cage that Corbin is bringing.

"These little guys are for the science." Corbin said.

"And we got these fuzzy dice for looking cool." Quint showed off the fuzzy dice.

"Dude! Is that a human skull?" Jack gasped upon seeing the skull on the hood.

"Do not worry, this is a cookie dough sentient candle to make us dangerous and sweet at the same time. My idea." Corbin bragged a little.

"Dips on driving this bad boy!" Jack wanted to drive this sweet new car, but Emmy stops him from getting onto the driver's seat.

"Not so fast, young man. While the world has turned bad that most rules don't apply anymore, that doesn't mean we're going to allow children under 16 to drive and with no formal driving education." Emmy said strongly.

"Seriously?!" Jack complained.

"Better got with it, Jack. It took some convincing on Molly to let us even modified the truck when we found it." Quint said while putting the stuff away.

"Now, just need to put in a little electricity for the garage door." Molly shocked a little electricity zap to the door getting it to open.

"How did you do that?" Emmy asked.

"Another upgrade Quint provided me with. Now, my recharging chamber is just outside under that bush blanket, we can take it with us." Molly mentioned about her recharging chamber.

Once they hooked it up, Molly takes the wheel and drives into the road, going a little slow at first when leaving the house, then goes faster on the abandoned roads.

"Have you been able to get into contact with your parents?" Madeline asked Corbin.

"Negative, my phone lost the cellar connection, so I had no way of calling any of our parents." Corbin shook his head.

This made Madeline sad that there was no way to contact the parents, she really hopes to hear from her parents again to let them know they're doing okay and hopefully they will be coming here to rescue her and Jack and any other people who might still be in town.

"Cheer up, Mad. We'll figure out a way to call your parents, but that can wait after tomorrow." Jack said.

"What are we doing tomorrow?" Corbin asked.

"Good question, one that I'm going to answer with a question to Quint. You remember June Del Toro?" Jack asked his best friend.

"Hmm… The June Del Toro you've been crushing on since school started? The June Del Toro you can't stop talking about? No." Quint pretended not to know.

"Oh, do I detect romance from this boy?" Molly asked with a grin.

"Oh yes, Jack is in love with June and wants to make a very good impression by rescuing her from danger or wherever she is currently hiding at the moment." Emmy explained.

"It's also annoying that he wouldn't stop talking about saving her." Madeline complained a little.

"Well, we're going out looking for her tomorrow. That's nonnegotiable." Jack declared.

"Does this June girl even like him back?" Corbin asked.

"Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if she just sees him as a friend." Madeline whispered.

They arrived at the treehouse where they put up the lab equipment into the treehouse.

"We also have extra rooms in the house; I've been keeping it clean as much as possible though one problem still remains no matter how much I clean it." Emmy informed them.

"You mean the roots? I've been having problems with that too." Molly complained about those roots.

"Hey Quint, think you and Corbin can also make Emmy super strong like Molly. We gave her a taser braze knuckle, but that's about the only thing we did to give her an offensive feature." Madeline requested.

"Sure, shouldn't be too hard since they're both the same robotic model." Quint nodded.

"So, are you ready to have some fun for a change?" Jack asked Quint.

"I was born ready!" Quint smirked.

"Come on, Corbin. It'll be nice to do something than studying books and listening to those lecture audio books." Madeline invited Corbin to join them.

"I guess it wouldn't hurt to fool around this one time." Corbin decided to have some fun.

"In that case, Molly and I will prepare lunch." Emmy smiled.

Emmy and Molly entered the house then got the kitchen setup to make lunch for the kids.

"I'm surprised you still have some power in the house." Molly commented.

"It's because of the science project Jack remembered he and Quint doing though it was more of an accident on his part." Emmy explained.

"So, have you been able to contact the other Nandroids?" Emmy asked while getting some of the food out.

"No, like with Corbin's phone, I couldn't get in touch with our friends. I actually miss hearing Amy saying something silly and nonsense." Molly sighed.

"Do not worry, we will find them, and we will find a way to get through this together for as long as we are needed to protect our children and their friends." Emmy believed strongly.

Then the day went by with everyone enjoying themselves to some fun with video games, snacks along with healthy meals provided by the Nandroids, and then nighttime came for everyone to go to sleep.

Well, everyone except Jack and Quint.

"Quint, buddy. You awake?" Jack asked.

"Yep." Quint answered, sleeping on the hammock.

"Dude, the world, like, ended." Jack pointed out, something he wanted to say with his best friend.

"I know." Quint agreed.

"I'm glad you and I, we're in it together, and we have new friends to help care for, you know?" Jack mentioned, thinking that it was a good thing these kids and Nandroids are with them now, not wanting to think about how it would've been if they never met each other.

"I know." Quint agreed with him again and then let out a fart making him laugh.

"Eew! My mouth was open!" Jack was grossed out but laughed too.

"Can you two keep it down! I'm trying to sleep here!" Madeline yelled in annoyance of how these older boys are right now.

Jack and Quint finally went to sleep so they can get ready for tomorrow.

(Tomorrow)

Everyone got up from sleeping fine and the Nandroids are fully charged to help them once again, they all went out immediately after getting some breakfast and go searching through the empty ruined streets to search for June.

"June, are you out there? It is I, Jack Sullivan, postapocalyptic action hero, come to rescue you." Jack called out for June with a megaphone while standing on the back of Big Mama.

"Are you sure using that megaphone won't end up calling out to anything dangerous toward us?" Corbin asked Jack.

"How else is June supposed to know there are other survivors searching for another?" Jack asked back.

"Touche, but I'm still not sure if this is the best course of action." Corbin said.

"Yeah, something not right about this." Jack tried to think of what that could be.

"Air temperature?" Quint asked.

"No." Jack said.

"Velocity?" Corbin asked.

"No."

"Directions?" Madeline asked because they have no idea on where to search for June.

"No."

"Perhaps you would like to hear some music to make this search pleasant." Emmy suggested.

"Yes! Play something cool like man-on-a-mission, searching-for-June music." Jack requested.

"I'm not sure if they have any music for that but let see what we got." Emmy turned on the radio switching to find the right music for this moment.

Molly gasped when she saw something on the road and quickly hit the brakes to stop Big Mama, and her jaw drop wide open.

"Molly, what happened? Did you see a monster nearby?" Emmy asked.

"I'm not sure it's a monster, but I see Amy!" Molly smiled and quickly jumped out of the truck.

"Amy!" Emmy gasped and saw her.

"Molly! Emmy!" Amy smiled running to hug her two Nandroid friends.

"Wait, if Polly is here… Then Ajay! You're alive!" Madeline up to Ajay who saw her from behind a big kid and ran up to hug his friend.

"I am so happy to see you!" Ajay smiled.

"And you're with Dirk Savage!" Quint gasped, hiding in Big Mama.

"Oh, are you friends with Dirk?" Ajay asked curiously.

"Friends with those dorks. Not a chance." Dirk laughed mockingly.

But then a screeching noise can be heard from behind causing everyone to look up and see a flying monster coming right at them.

"Winged wretch! Everyone, get back!" Dirk said before changing at the Wretch.

Dirk grabs the legs pulling the Wretch down and swinging it around to throw crashing it into a building, knocked out.

"Whoa!" Jack was amazed by Dirk defeating a monster by himself, and everyone is reacting the same way.

KO a new chapter is done and hope you all enjoy it!

Jack and Madeline reunited with their friends Quint and Corbin along with Molly being a little stronger than a normal Nandroid thanks to the two little geniuses, and now they have met up with another Nandroid Amy and her boy Ajay, who was with Dirk the tough boy.
