   If it weren’t for those words, Thomas wasn’t sure if he’d still be holding on, trying to live. After his heart had fallen into the black abyss, he never thought he’d allow himself to see the light ever again. He gave himself up to WCKD, to Ava Paige. He had hoped they’d drain him to death, if only to save the others while slowly ceasing to exist. Win-win. But things never go the way Thomas hoped for, and after reading his friend’s final words for him, he willed himself to survive. Day by day. Thomas didn’t want to let Newt down. Never. Never again.
