Izuku doesn’t know what to give to Katsuki; he thought about buying something All Might related, but he knows Katsuki’s collection is as impressive as his own so he’s not sure what exactly could give him he doesn’t have already.
He keeps mumbling to himself, not realizing that anyone can hear him, when he bumps into Katsuki himself.
It seems the blond was actually on his way to Izuku’s dorm room.
“You don’t need to give me anything, nerd!”
“But, Kacchan, I want to–”
“Wear this then!” Katsuki shoves two clothing items into Izuku’s arms, confusing the green haired boy.
He gets even more puzzled when he notices that Katsuki is blushing; he’s nervously rubbing the back of his neck and making an effort to look away from Izuku.
“What? Why?”
“Tch! If you don’t want–”
“No, no!” Izuku quickly turns around and goes back to his room. “I’ll be right back!”
After he puts the outfit on, he realizes that’s one of Katsuki’s favorite shirts (it’s too big for Izuku) and a pair of tight shorts that look like new.
Still confused, Izuku gets out of the room and Katsuki gets even more red as soon as he sees him.
“Are you sure this is all you want for your birthday?”
Katsuki shakes his head, takes Izuku in his arms and pulls him into his lap after he sits on the couch of the common room.
He purrs like a very content cat as he buries his face in the curve of Izuku’s neck and places a hand on the green haired boy’s thigh.
“Is this really what you want, Kacchan?”
“YES.”
It’s a little bit strange for a birthday gift, but Katsuki is his friend and Izuku wants to make him happy no matter what. So he smiles and starts running his fingers through his blond’s hair.
“Can I also take a picture of you, nerd?”
“Sure!” Izuku smiles, thinking that Katsuki wants to take a photo of the two of them together, but in the end it’s just a picture of Izuku on the couch wearing the outfit Katsuki gave him.
After a while, and mostly because Ashido comes running to the common room asking about the picture, Izuku realizes that his friend posted it on Instagram with the caption: HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! 😏
Later his classmates join them and they buy food and the least sweet cake they could find to celebrate Katsuki’s birthday together.
Katsuki regrets not taking Izuku to his own room in the first place, but it’s not that bad. He keeps a hand on Izuku’s waist the whole time and his nerd seems to be enjoying himself, which is everything he needs to be happy on his birthday.
