The Fridge, The Ball and Everything that Makes Zhenya Mad

Summary:

Kwon Taekjoo woke up after a restless night with his lover to tiny paws batting at his face. He thought Zhenya had impulsively brought a cat into their house. Opening his eyes, he realized, it was something much worse.

I took a break from social media but my demons are controlling me as I completed this old draft. Not beta read or proofread as it was written when my last two brain cells refused to memorize Emile Dukheim's theories.

Check out their art on twitter. They are absolutely amazing and talented artists and these pictures have lived rent free on my mind. Specially check out @Y_Youngie 's twitter account for more Zhenjoo art. Loved this version of Zhenya so much that my demons mixed both the images to make this caffeine induced monstrocity.

Work Text:

"Taekjoo Taekjoo"

Taekjoo wakes up to a baby-like voice and something tiny batting at his face. Annoyed at the interruption, Taekjoo turns over and starts to sleep again. However the tiny pokes and baby-like calls of his name continue.

"Zainka hehe"

Just why is Zhenya mimicking a baby's voice? Thinking Zhenya is just trying to annoy him, he opens his eyes and turns around,

"Zhenya why are you annoying me this early in the morning and WHAT THE HELL!"

Taekjoo yelps and jumps up ignoring the discomfort on his hips and back. Zhenya, his lovable idiot, had somehow turned into this tiny plushie like Animal. He had cat ears and a tiny cat-like body. However, the little tail wagging behind him made Taekjoo rub his eyes. He had a tiny crocodile tail. Just what sort of cat is this.

Zhenya didn't seem to care. He was trying to climb onto his lap while extending his little paws for a cuddle. Taekjoo was questioning his life choices and sanity as he lifted his tiny furry lover who was giggling as he extended his tiny fluffy paws towards Taekjoo.

"Zhenya what- What happened to you?"

Zhenya apparently lost his common sense and intellect too since he couldn't understand what Taekjoo was saying. He looked confused as he tilted his head. Taekjoo sighed as he put Zhenya down, the last thing he remembers from the previous night was passing out while bathing with Zhenya after a long restless night of making love. Zhenya was perfectly fine then if he could bring Taekjoo to bed. Then how did this happen?

Apparently Taekjoo took too long to cuddle Zhenya so he teared up. A teary 'Taekjooooo" brought him out of his thoughts as he looked at Zhenya. He had huge tears in his eyes as he still kept his paws extended towards Taekjoo. His saddened face and teary eyes made Taekjoo's heart melt. Well whatever the reason he now had to take care of this version of his lover.

He picked the little cat up and put him on his shoulder like one would put a baby. He patted Zhenya's back as he cuddled close to Taekjoo. Zhenya’s sobs decreased as he clutched onto Taekjoo like a little koala. Except this baby had claws, which he apparently didn’t retract if the sharp digging on his shoulder is any indication.

“Ow ow ouch Zhenya! No claws. I have enough bite marks already!”

Zhenya understood this and retracted his claws. Taekjoo checked the scratches on the mirror beside their bed. He wasn’t bleeding and the scratches will probably clear up soon. So he shrugged and continued to pet the now happy kitty wagging his crocodile tail. Taekjoo leaned back on the headboard and adjusted Zhenya to rest his head on Taekjoo’s collarbones.

Zhenya seemed to be content with being held and started to look sleepy. He let out a tiny yawn that melted Taekjoo’s heart. As annoying as the situation was. Taekjoo couldn’t help but coo at this cute version of his lover. The tiny yawn also revealed the rows of teeth. His canines had apparently grown slightly in this body. Better to not let him bite Taekjoo.

The tiny kitten like Zhenya snuggled closer to Taekjoo and fell asleep. Taekjoo kept on staring and petting him while holding him against his chest. Happy that the brat was asleep, Taekjoo thought to get out of bed and freshen up, except he missed one very important detail. He couldn’t make the lightest movement without waking the sleepy kitten in his arms. Zhenya was naturally a light sleeper who woke up at Taekjoo’s slightest movement. Now in a cat’s body his senses are heightened and will definitely wake up again if he tries to get up.

Resigning himself to stay in bed for a few more hours, Taekjoo very carefully moved his hand to the side of his bed to fetch his phone. First thing he did was take a few pictures of the little ball of a kitten that was curled on him. If this was not some vivid hyper realistic dream he would like to keep a few memories of this version of his adorable lover.

After taking a few pictures and videos, Taekjoo started searching for cat and crocodile food habits. It would be too risky to give Zhenya normal food in this form. The search showed both had meat or raw meat in common. But Zhenya was originally a human, what if raw meat made him sick? It’s not like he could take him to a vet, or let anyone see Zhenya like this. They would definitely take Zhenya away from him.

So Taekjoo ordered steaks from a few different stores, ranging from raw to cooked. He had to eat at least one of them right? Taekjoo knew from experience how hard it was to get Zhenya to maintain a regular eating schedule. He just knows kitten Zhenya won’t be any easier. Taekjoo continued to scroll through his social media for more tips on caring for a cat. He hoped his lover would be fine by the next day. But if this is his life from now on then he might as well get used to taking care of his baby. Apparently his social media assumed he had a cat now so they started suggesting cat toys. Taekjoo looked at Zhenya who had now put the tip of his tail in his mouth and was sleeping in a round fur ball. He gently pecked the top of the little kitten’s forehead and watched as Zhenya started to let out a soft purring noise. Fuck he’s so cute.

And so after a few minutes of debating about this in his head Taekjoo ordered a bunch of cat toys. Zhenya has an insane level of stamina and energy in his body as a human. Who knows how energetic he was going to be in cat form. It’s not like Taekjoo could tire out the cat the way he tires out the human Zhenya. Taekjoo sighed as he closed his eyes again, well if he can’t move he might as well sleep in a bit more.

An hour or so later Taekjoo woke up to little paws trying to strangle him. What the- Zhenya, his lover turned cat, had apparently thought this much snuggle wasn’t enough and was trying to hug his neck. Except his tiny arms couldn’t curl around his neck properly and Zhenya had apparently been trying to strangle him in an attempt to hug him. Taekjoo yelped and yanked Zhenya away from his neck by holding the back of Zhenya’s neck. Zhenya, apparently not having the realization that he nearly killed Taekjoo, merely smiled and called out ‘Taekjoo~~’ in his adorable voice. Taekjoo sighed. He couldn’t even scold Zhenya in this form. Reprimand doesn’t work on Zhenya in ANY form.

“Well now that you are up, shall we go eat something? The steak I ordered should be coming soon.”

Without waiting for a response Taekjoo put Zhenya down and pulled the blanket off himself. Stretching out a little, Taekjoo reached for a hoodie in the pile of clothes on their bedroom chair. He really needed to start on their laundry. As he put on the hoodie, he realized it was the hoodie Zhenya had bought for him. Zhenya doesn’t wear hoodies or much casual clothes, but Taekjoo does. So he was surprised when Zhenya bought this extremely soft and fluffy hoodie in Zhenya’s size. Zhenya simply put the hoodie on Taekjoo despite his complaints about it being a larger size. Taekjoo initially grumbled at Zhenya for bringing him a larger size than Taekjoo’s, but later he would always wear this hoodie in Ajinoki. It was larger and much warmer than most of his hoodies. Zhenya would always pick him up and start cuddling him when he saw Taekjoo curling up somewhere in this hoodie. Suddenly missing his lover, Taekjoo put on the hoodie.

He then left the room to go to the kitchen and start heating up yesterday’s leftovers for himself. After putting the food in the microwave he realized Zhenya wasn’t scurrying around or following him. Just where did this troublesome cat go? He rushed towards the bedroom worried he got into trouble only to see a tiny lump fighting with the heavy weighted blanket on the bed. Shit, did he accidentally trap Zhenya under the blanket?

Taekjoo yanked the cover off and saw the angry little kitten rushing into his arms while hissing at the blanket like the blanket committed a war crime against him. “Sorry sorry I forgot you can’t climb out of the bed on your own.” Taekjoo comforted the little cat while petting him. Zhenya glared at him with his little eyes seemingly offended at him. Taekjoo desperately tried to keep himself from laughing. He doesn’t wanna get scratched at by the little kitty who apparently couldn’t fight out a weighted blanket.

Taekjoo put Zhenya in the front pocket of his hoodie like a kangaroo. Zhenya seemed mad at being handled like this but was easily soothed at the fact that Taekjoo could pet him while working. He folded the blanket and straightened the bed before going to the dining room. He pulled a sulking kitten out of his pocket and placed him on the table as Taekjoo started eating his breakfast.

Zhenya seemed to be somewhat aware of his human self because he got up and walked around the table on his two legs. But some instincts were clearly that of a cat as he started batting at the little plant placed on the dining table. Then again this could very well be a human Zhenya instinct as he never liked that particular plant. It was given by Jongwoo as a “Congratulations on coming out to your mother and officially moving in” gift. Zhenya was clearly not fond of the plant but he tolerated Taekjoo caring for it. Now he seemed to be taking out his anger in his cat form.

Taekjoo finished his breakfast and started preparing his coffee. Zhenya seemed content in fighting the plant so he left him on the dining table till he washed the dishes and made himself coffee. He suddenly missed his Zhenya. Zhenya would always snuggle into his neck from behind as he cleaned the morning dishes. Heck Taekjoo forgot when was the last time he made his own coffee. Zhenya had been making his coffee for years now. He truly had integrated himself in all the things in Taekjoo’s life.

Taekjoo was returning back to the dining room when he heard the doorbell ring. It was probably the delivery service. It was nearing midday and Zhenya hadn’t eaten anything yet, if the delivery was any more late he would’ve called them again. “Zhenya, stay put here. I will get the door ok?” He petted Zhenya and got a little hum as a response. Well this was the best he was getting from this kitty.

Taekjoo took the food and cat toys from the delivery man and took the food to the dining table. Luckily Zhenya listened and simply sat on the dining table fiddling with the newspaper left on the table. He opened the steak package and took out the medium rare steak. Zhenya sniffed the air and waddled close to Taekjoo. Zhenya didn’t necessarily enjoy steak but when he ate he always had a medium rare steak. Taekjoo cut up the steak into small pieces as he always did and put it in front of the half cat sitting on the table like a human.

Zhenya simply looked at him like he didn’t know what Taekjoo wanted him to do. Taekjoo gestured the steak towards him again. But he still didn’t eat. Simply sat there looking at the steak and then at him. For heaven’s sake, his lover was such a high maintenance baby. Taekjoo picked up one of the tiny pieces with a fork and held it in front of Zhenya. Happy at being fed Zhenya happily opened his mouth and gobbled the little piece of steak.

Softly smiling at the adorable sight, Taekjoo supported Zhenya’s back with his hand and continued to feed him. Zhenya looked adorable while chewing the bite sized pieces of steak with wide blue eyes. His chubby little cheek would swell up with every bite. Had he been his normal self he would’ve teased Taekjoo for looking at him so fondly. But now he doesn’t seem to care about anything other than the fact that Taekjoo was feeding him. The steak also came with sides of mashed potato, vegetables and cooked mushroom. Reluctant about giving him vegetables, Taekjoo grabbed some of the sides for himself. However Zhenya seemed to be curious about the vegetable sides and happily ate them when Taekjoo tried to feed him some. Turns out he wasn’t just carnivorous huh?

Looking at the mashed potatoes, Taekjoo wondered if his palette had changed enough or not. Zhenya, as a human, hated mashed potatoes for some reason. He had no issues with other potato based dishes but absolutely hated mashed potatoes. Said it tastes like mushed cardboard. Taekjoo obviously disagreed. He wasn’t crazy about it but he didn’t hate it as much as Zhenya did. Taekjoo scooped up a small amount of mashed potato and held it in front of Zhenya. He immediately frowned. The spoon on his hand kept hanging in the air as Zhenya squirmed away from it and scrunched up his nose. He went as far as to hide behind his hand while glaring at it in disdain. Taekjoo couldn’t help himself, he laughed loudly. Some things don’t change after all. He put away the spoon of mashed potatoes and cooed at Zhenya to sit down and finish the remaining steak. Zhenya glared at him and huffed. But he obediently sat down and began eating. Taekjoo melted again. Zhenya was being so cute his heart felt full.

After finishing eating Taekjoo wiped his mouth and paws with a wet cloth. Zhenya obviously hated water in this form (which was strange since he had a crocodile tail) but relented when Taekjoo asked to wipe his mouth. Taekjoo put Zhenya down on the floor and started packing away the remaining steak and takeaway packets for later. He would try to feed him some more during dinner.

Zhenya had followed him to the living room on his little paws after he left the kitchen. He felt less like a cat and more of an extremely tiny toddler with paws, ears and tails. Which was a weird thought but Zhenya looked cute. Taekjoo unpacked the toys and stretched out the tunnel-like toy on the floor. Zhenya immediately jumped inside and sniffed. He poked the tiny ball hanging from the roof and frowned, before trying to fight the ball. No matter the form it turns out Zhenya really enjoyed picking fights. Taekjoo unpacked the rest of the toys and let Zhenya sniff them. He looked really confused as to why Taekjoo bought all of this.

Taekjoo picked out a ball with little beads inside. Rattling the ball made this soft ringing sound. Zhenya’s ears perked up as he eyed the ball, his tail slowly rising in concentration. Curious, Taekjoo threw the ball across the living room and watched wide eyed as Zhenya leaped across the living room at lightning speed. He had finally let himself fall on his four paws as he jumped to catch the ball. The ball continued to make ringing sounds as Zhenya batted at it with his paws and bounced around it. Taekjoo was simultaneously confused and amused. He had purchased that ball on impulse. Cats were known to love laser pointers more. But Zhenya always acted like a clingy loyal dog yearning for his affection. So he bought a ball just in case it amused Zhenya. Turns out he was a mix of cat, dog AND crocodile if the way he jumped on and after the ball was any indication. He couldn’t help but smile at this display and sneakily shoot a small video of this. Zhenya was going to be so embarrassed at this.

The rest of the day was spent with laughter and a lot more toys. Zhenya surprisingly loved the little fishing rod, insisting Taekjoo hold it up. Zhenya was exceptional as a cat too. He jumped several feet in the air to catch the little bird tied on the rod. Taekjoo laughed and ran around with the fishing rod as Zhenya chased him around, with his tiny calls of “Taekjoooooo” and chubby cheeks pulling into a lovely smile.

By sunset, Taekjoo was absolutely exhausted from running around all over the house. Zhenya only seemed to be able to say Taekjoo and Zainka. Taekjoo doesn’t want to admit it but he had loads of fun. Maybe he could ask Zhenya if he wanted to adopt a little cat when he is back to his human form. As much as he loves spending his days with Zhenya, a little pet would keep him busy in the rare occasions Zhenya goes to meetings or work without him.

Taekjoo laid on the living room floor, sprawled out on the carpet, exhausted from yet another chase around the house. He panted as he caught his breath. His stamina is good but even he got exhausted after chasing and being chased by an energetic cat like Zhenya. As Taekjoo laid there catching his breath he had a sudden realization Zhenya hadn’t pounced on him yet. He loved to chase and jump on him all day, where had he gone now. Taekjoo jumped up and looked around. Zhenya wasn’t in the room. He felt his heart drop for a moment, did he leave the main door or balcony door open? He ran towards the main door and checked to see it was locked.

“Zhenya! Zhenya, where are you?”

He looked around the other rooms and still no sign of the tiny blonde furball. Just where did this tiny bastard go? “ZHENYA!” Taekjoo yelled out in the empty house again as he looked at the nooks and crannies of their house, under every piece of furniture and inside every storage box. He was playing with him a few moments ago, where on earth had he disappeared??

Suddenly he heard a little scuffling noise from the kitchen. He ran into the kitchen but still no sign of Zhenya. It was only until he noticed something on top of the fridge that he froze. Zhenya was perched on top of their huge fridge looking at him smugly. This brat-

“You little shit why didn’t you respond when you knew I was looking for you??”

Taekjoo scolded. But as always Zhenya paid no mind and kept laughing and playing around with the plant placed on top of the fridge. How had he even gotten up there??

“Zhenya, stop fooling around and come on down. It's dusty up there and you hate baths.”

Zhenya’s face soured at the sound of baths and he huffed, turning around and sitting down. This stubborn little cat-

“Zhenya, don’t make me get the spray bottle. Come on down NOW”

Zhenya still didn’t pay him any mind and continued to fiddle around with whatever he found on top of the fridge. Taekjoo sighed. Well if he was going to insist on staying there then he might as well start heating up the dinner. That way he could keep an eye on Zhenya as he worked. Taekjoo started to take food out of the fridge as he kept his eyes on Zhenya. Whatever he was playing with had apparently gotten boring as he now sat loafed on top of the fridge watching Taekjoo work. He still had no interest in getting down.

Zhenya suddenly sensed some movement behind him. He turned around to look at it, only to squeak in surprise and jump off the fridge. Taekjoo, who had just put the steak in the microwave, looked at Zhenya to see him falling off the fridge. With speed he didn’t know he possessed, he jumped and grabbed Zhenya. Unfortunately this meant Taekjoo himself was off balance and landed on his back on the kitchen floor. Zhenya realizing he was comfortable in Taekjoo’s arms immediately shot up towards Taekjoo’s face worried if he had hurt his head. Taekjoo groaned as he held his back. His back took most of his fall but at least he managed to protect both his head and Zhenya. He looked at Zhenya’s anxious eyes looking at him and groaned again.

“See? This is why I told you to get down. Why would you jump down without calling for me??”

Taekjoo scolded as he sat up rubbing his back and neck. Zhenya, now sitting on his lap, genuinely looked remorseful with his downtrodden eyes and flattened ears. Taekjoo looked up to see what had frightened him so much and got up. Grabbing a sandal, he slammed it on the cockroach fleeing from the side of the fridge.

“It’s just a little cockroach, Zhenya. It won’t hurt you.”

Zhenya glared at the squished cockroach as he still sat on the floor with flattened ears and tail and sad eyes. Taekjoo sighed at seeing Zhenya’s body covered in dust and carried him to their bathroom. Filling their sink with lukewarm water, Taekjoo rolled his sleeves up and gently lowered Zhenya into the filled sink. Zhenya was obviously displeased at being dunked in water but he seemed even more remorseful at causing Taekjoo to get hurt and so he didn’t protest.

After finishing bathing him, Taekjoo covered Zhenya with a towel and rubbed some water out of his fur. Once out of the water, Zhenya gave a full body shake, drenching the bathroom floor and Taekjoo and making his fur poofy. Taekjoo chuckled and carried Zhenya to the living room where he brushed his matter fur. Zhenya’s fur was as soft as his hair in his human self. Which is to say it was incredibly soft and fluffy.

“Taekjoo.”

Zhenya looked at him with teary eyes and placed a single paw on his hand that's holding the brush. Taekjoo felt himself melt. This damn brat.

“I am not mad at you Zhenya, I am just worried. Glad you didn’t get hurt. I didn’t get hurt much, I will just have a bruised back for a few days.”

Taekjoo picked Zhenya up and gently kissed him on the head while petting him. Zhenya, seeming content with his answer, snuggled closer to him and started purring. He was so much like his normal self. Zhenya never apologized, even after years of their relationship. But whenever he felt guilty, even though he couldn’t name that emotion, he would sulkily follow him around and occasionally even bring his favorite food with flowers (that is if Taekjoo gives him silent treatment. Learning how to make him listen during the rare arguments had taken some time.). Amused, Taekjoo supported his purring menace in one arm as he went to the kitchen to pull out the steak and heat the side dishes.

He gently extracted a now frowning Zhenya away from his arms and placed him on the table. Cutting the steak into pieces, he gently placed the smallest piece of steak on a fork and started feeding Zhenya. While Zhenya is chewing, Taekjoo takes a bite from his own steak. Like this he gradually finished feeding both himself and Zhenya. He was even amused when Zhenya reluctantly ate a small bite of mashed potato, apparently not wanting to make him sad or mad. Taekjoo laughed and then gave him a little kiss on his head as a reward for finishing dinner so obediently.

Taekjoo once again placed Zhenya inside his hoodie pocket as he cleaned up the rest of the table and kitchen. Zhenya, making himself comfortable, simply looked at what Taekjoo was doing and then looked at Taekjoo, occasionally glaring at the refrigerator. Taekjoo checked the doors and windows, rearmed the alarm system and went to their room. There, he carefully placed Zhenya on the bed and told him to stay put as he went to freshen up. He finished brushing his teeth, taking a short shower and putting on his pajama pants.

When Taekjoo came out of the bathroom, Zhenya, who was lying flat on the bed, perked up and sat as he finished drying himself with his towel. Once Taekjoo was done with the rest of his nighttime routine, which also included a four step skin care routine imposed by Olga because apparently, he wasn’t getting any younger and would probably not be looking like he is robbing the cradle when he stands beside Zhenya. Zhenya also had his own set of skincare products on the vanity table. They each took turns to freshen up and finish skincare before sleeping. At least on the days they didn’t pass out after making love for hours that is.

Zhenya jumped around the pillows, chewed on the blanket as Taekjoo finished his skin care routine. He managed to find Taekjoo’s book that was still on the bed from this morning and opened it. Taekjoo isn’t sure if Zhenya is actually reading it or not but he seemed to be concentrating pretty hard. He found himself smiling at Zhenya’s antics once again. It’s as if Zhenya just shrunk down with cat ears, fluffy body and crocodile tail, but remained the same in his personality and habits.

Taekjoo finally climbed on the bed and pulled up the blanket. Zhenya immediately abandoned the book to climb on Taekjoo. He made himself comfortable on Taekjoo’s chest as usual as Taekjoo started to pet him. The low purring noise emitting from Zhenya was so adorable, Taekjoo couldn’t help but lean down to kiss him on the forehead again. Except Zhenya looked up at Taekjoo exactly at that moment and ended up getting a peck on the lips instead. Immediately the whole room was enveloped in a bright light emitting from Zhenya. Taekjoo closed his eyes and reeled back at the intense light shining on his eyes while shouting Zhenya’s name.

After a few heartstopping seconds, Taekjoo felt a heavy weight on his chest and a familiar groaning. Realizing the light was gone, Taekjoo opened his eyes. Zhenya, his lover, was now fully human and holding his head as he groaned. He was resting his weight on Taekjoo’s side while still having half his torso on top of Taekjoo. Taekjoo laid there, shell shocked at exactly what happened.

Zhenya looked at Taekjoo and simply asked, “Taekjoo?”

Taekjoo seemed to break out of his shock and immediately tackled Zhenya into a hug. Zhenya was incredibly confused but still hugged Taekjoo back. Lying on his back, he patted Taekjoo’s back and dug his head on his head to inhale his scent.

“You’re back! You actually became human again. Shit if I knew this was such fairytale bullshit I would have kissed you ages ago!”

Zhenya made a noise of confusion at Taekjoo’s unhinged rambling as he continued to happily snuggle into Zhenya’s arms. Just what happened for Taekjoo to be so happy? The last thing he remembered was putting pajama pants on a sleeping Taekjoo after their bath and lying down beside him. Then nothing. But now he is naked on their bed with Taekjoo hugging him and muttering about cursing fairies and other fairytale creatures. He was also leaving little kisses on his face and lips. Followed by deep pecks on the lips. What the fuck happened for Taekjoo to become like this?

Zhenya was suddenly very aware that he was naked and Taekjoo only had his pajama pants on. Well, he can figure out what happened later. For now they could be doing something else couldn’t they? Taekjoo froze as he felt familiar hands grope his ass through his pants. He pulled away from the hug to raise an eyebrow at Zhenya. Zhenya merely smiled innocently as he slowly slid his other hand around Taekjoo’s waist.

“Are you serious? You aren’t even curious to know what happened all day?? Do you even remember what you did all day??”

Zhenya shrugged, “Well whatever it was, it clearly wasn’t too bad. I am getting hugs and kisses so why not push my luck for a bit more?”

Taekjoo glared as Zhenya smirked and continued to grope his ass and thighs. This bastard. Gave him a heart attack, turned into an animal for a day and still has his head in the gutter. But Taekjoo knew this was a losing game. He was also slowly getting turned out at Zhenya’s not so innocent touches and grinding his hard on against him. He frowned and kissed him on the lips deeply. Zhenya groaned and flipped them so Taekjoo was on his back on the bed. He started pulling Taekjoo’s pajama pants down and the rest was lost in a passionate night of groans and moans.

The next morning Zhenya woke up to Taekjoo still sleeping. He stared for a few minutes, admiring the subtle beauty of his lover’s face and the serene peaceful look on his face. He could spend all day simply looking at Taekjoo’s face. He was absolutely beautiful with a body carved by Gods. Since the first day he had seen this face he wanted to lose himself in Taekjoo’s body and throw everything else out the window. Took him days to understand that he wanted to see this face smile and laugh as much as he wanted those eyes to roll back in pleasure.

Zhenya reluctantly got up and went to the bathroom after tucking the blanket over Taekjoo and watching him snuggle into his pillow. He went to the bathroom to freshen up and shower. They both just lightly showered before going to sleep last night. He tired out Taekjoo very much. Putting on a casual pair of sweatpants, Zhenya went into the kitchen to start on breakfast. For some reason he felt an impulse to glare at the refrigerator. Snapping out of his absurd thoughts, Zhenya looked inside the fridge to see quite a few takeout containers. Strange, he didn’t remember ordering them.

Taking a peek inside one of the containers showed steak with different sides. Taekjoo doesn’t even like steak, so why does every container have a different steak in it? Taking a mental note to ask Taekjoo later, Zhenya began preparing their breakfast while turning on the espresso machine for Taekjoo’s coffee.

As he finished the last of breakfast preparations, Zhenya heard the bedroom door open. Taekjoo was awake already. That was quick. He could feel Taekjoo looking inside the kitchen. But instead of coming inside and giving him a good morning wish as he usually does, he felt Taekjoo going towards the living room. Confused, and plating the omelets from the pan, Zhenya followed Taekjoo to the living room. And was very baffled at the state of the living room.

The room had cat toys everywhere. The couch had a few scratches and a few of their couch pillows were thrown around. It was as if a cat had run around their living room all day. Then he heard a small ringing sound and snapped his head towards the noise. Taekjoo, only wearing his oversized hoodie (that he looks absolutely adorable in), was holding a tiny ball and shaking it while smirking. Zhenya couldn’t help but be absolutely captivated by that ball. Something in him told him to just pounce on that ball.

Taekjoo’s laughter snapped Zhenya out of his daze. Without realizing he had reached his hands out to grab the ball from Taekjoo’s hand. He looked at his arm with confusion. Just what was happening??

“Taekjoo?”

Zhenya’s confusion was apparently extremely amusing to Taekjoo if the way he burst into another fit of giggles was any indication. Any other day he would’ve loved to savor his smiles and laugh. But today he felt very confused and rattled for some reason. His instincts were working weirdly and he was getting weird impulses and emotions that felt very foreign. Like now he kind of wanted to snuggle inside Taekjoo’s hoodie pocket which was strange because he usually wants to snuggle under that hoodie.

Taekjoo finished laughing and led a confused Zhenya to the dining table. Sitting him down, Taekjoo pulled out his phone and simply said, “Gallery.” before going to the kitchen to bring their breakfast in. Zhenya, confused, looked at the unlocked phone in his hand and opened the gallery. Looking at the recent photos, Zhenya felt his jaw drop. There were videos and photographs of a furry cat-like animal with his face but with a crocodile tail. He went through the photos and videos one by one while feeling more and more confused by each of them. Did he become this weird mix of cat and crocodile yesterday? Is this why Taekjoo was so happy and gave him so much affection last night? And also why he felt the urge to chase after that god awful ball?

Taekjoo merely watched with a smirk as Zhenya went through each item on his phone. “So now do you know what you did all day yesterday?”

Zhenya continued looking absolutely baffled as he looked at the photos. Taekjoo secretly took a picture of his expression on Zhenya’s phone and secretly sent it to his account. He looked so adorable when he was confused. Zhenya put the phone down and simply looked at his hands as if processing the whole day.

“So I became this half cat, half crocodile thing and you played with me all day?”

“Yes. And not exactly half cat and half crocodile. You had a cat-like body and ears with a crocodile tail and dog-like mannerisms. Oh and also waddled around on two legs. So I am not sure what you were exactly. But you were very cute.”

Zhenya’s head snapped up at that and he smirked, “Did you enjoy coddling me Taekjoo? Was I an obedient little baby for you to play around with?”

Taekjoo shrugged, “Well as good as you can be I guess. You also nearly fell to your death because you were startled by a cockroach. I didn’t know you were scared of such a tiny insect.”

Zhenya smirked again, “And did you save me like a brave knight in shining armor?”

“And broke my back trying to do so. Honestly what possessed you to climb on top of the fridge again.” Taekjoo sighed and grabbed Zhenya’s hand resting on the table. “At least now you are back to normal. I was worried for a moment if this was going to be the rest of my life.”

“Aww Taekjoo I won’t do that. Who else will satisfy your needs in bed with a big d-”

“Shut up you shameless bastard.”

Zhenya laughed at Taekjoo’s flustered face as he smacked Zhenya’s hand away. Taekjoo was too easy to tease. However Zhenya snapped his attention towards a floating bird plushie in front of his eyesight. He didn’t know why but he felt the urge to grab it. Just as he extended his hands to grab it, the bird was suddenly moved to another place.

Taekjoo stifled his laughter as he saw Zhenya snap his eyes to the little cat toy in his hands. Just as he thought, Zhenya still had some instincts from his time as a cat ingrained in him. He slowly turned on the video and set it to lean on a glass on the table, as he continued to slowly entice Zhenya into grabbing the little bird plushie.

But he clearly didn’t stop his laughter properly as Zhenya snapped out of it after trying to jump and catch the bird for the second time. He glared at Taekjoo holding the rod and laughed at Zhenya’s reaction.

“Ok that’s it you are getting punished for this.”

Taekjoo threw the rod and made a run for the living room while laughing and teasingly calling Zhenya a good kitty. Zhenya caught onto Taekjoo and dug his hands onto Taekjoo’s sides as he mercilessly tickled his Zainka. The house continued to be filled with the laughter of a bunny and his cat-crocodile.
