Summary
Nobody really moves to Makochi, just like how nobody really moves out of Makochi either. The town is a habitat that’s been fostered and tailored to be loved by it’s residents, regardless of how Japan as a whole might view their ramshackle community.
Every face he saw in primary school, he saw again in junior high, no additions and no subtractions. It’s reassuring to know everyone’s stories, even vaguely and without familiarity, and it’s also similarly reassuring that people don’t pry him due to the same reasons.
He expected senior high to be the same.
Then, into the classroom, enters someone not one in his town has seen ever before.
