   Summary

Fréaláf Hildeson, sister-son to the King of Rohan and newly appointed First Marshal of the Riddermark, is haunted by his past, concealing his torment behind witty banter and a light-hearted façade. Unable to form meaningful relationships, he follows a self-destructive path in a futile attempt to cope.

Sigrid, daughter of the slain lord Freca, joins her brother Wulf in exile, grappling with the loss of her father, her identity, and her home. With their future uncertain, she is determined to forge a new life for them both—and meddle in her brother’s love story along the way.

When Sigrid and Fréaláf meet, sparks fly and tempers clash—but time reveals a love forged through mutual grief, passion, and unspoken devotion.
