“One last thing.” Loki leaned forward, his back crooked from bending himself down to almost match her eye level. “I promise.”
He held both hands out, cupping them. Mantis tilted her head, confused by his action, till green sparks started shooting out, nearly startling her. They’d burst from his palms, like little stars, sparkling. It was almost like a miniature version of the grander display before them, silent too. Perfection.
She was stunned, the shadow of the green lights dancing on their faces. It continued on like that for a little while, till there was no more fireworks, till the soft warm glow from the city lights turned off one by one. Till the magic from his hands died out like a sleepy flame.
