A Simple Boy's Guide to 'Doing Things Right'

Summary:

Takumi did say he was going to do things right, didn't he? And he always did his best to keep his word.

---

Aka. What if Takumi and Tsubasa weren't so rudely interrupted that one time.

Notes:

So, backstory time. As soon as I completed the Killing Game Route, I immediately got to work on a TakuTsuba fic.

This is not that fic, this is something else entirely to get me in the groove of things since I haven't written a proper fic in nearly two years.

But it's still TakuTsuba... so... voila!

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Lately, Takumi felt like he was walking through a minefield with every word that comes out of his mouth.

Nowhere was that felt more than the present, with Tsubasa standing in right front of him, her head tilted upwards with her eyes clamped shut and lips slightly parted.

“’I’m gonna do things right?’” He asks himself, his cheeks turning redder if that was even possible. “Of all the things I could have said to her. Of all the ways I could have placated her…”

Was Takumi really so scared of Tsubasa’s jealous ramblings that day that he said the first thing that came to mind? Was she really that dear to him compared to Nozomi and Karua that he felt the need to placate her?

He didn’t know for sure. All that matters is that he said what he said.

And Takumi Sumino was not about to go back on his word. Not at this moment.

Taking a few steps forwards, Takumi gently yet nervously gripped Tsubasa’s shoulders, watching as she squeezed her own hands tighter in front of her chest in response.

He took a deep breath before steeling his eyes. “I’m going to do it…” His mind said. "I’m going to do things right with Tsubasa, here and now.”

Takumi leaned in close to Tsubasa’s lips and…

“Mmmn~”

“Nnnnh…”

The first thing he noticed was just how soft her lips felt, the way they lightly touched his own sent a shiver down his spine. Similar to the ones he felt around Karua many days ago, yet still different enough to be called unique.

Takumi pulled away after a few seconds, his chest heaving despite how brief the kiss was. Tsubasa’s cheeks were tomato red now, and he waited with bated breath for what she would say next.

“Not enough…” She mumbled bashfully; her eyes turned to the side.

A smile couldn’t help but reach Takumi’s features, and he felt that same shiver run down his body as he closed the gap once more and felt her arms coil around his neck.

And nothing felt more right than that.

Notes:

Moral of the Story: TakuTsuba is best ship and no one is allowed to butt in when they're in the middle of a moment.

Peace out, assholes.
