Princess Problems
CHAPTER 1- PRUNE JUICE COOKIE FALLS
Prune Juice Cookie had a problem… of sorts
Ever since the second trial in the Triple Cone Cup, where everyone had seen that flashback of a Parfaedian professor telling Prune Juice Cookie that he was incapable of learning magic, he had been paranoid.
Everyone knew his secret now. He was a student in a magic school, who couldn’t learn magic.
Prune Juice Cookie hated it. The poor boy hated how weak he was, hated how the witches had decided to bake him frail, hated he was nothing without his potions. The baked frail thing also lead to another thing. Myopathy.
The crowds thinking that he had been lazy by saying he was too tired to run with Kouign-Aman Cookie and Capsaicin Cookie? He hadn’t been lazy, he genuinely just could not run in that moment.
The master potion maker would never admit it but.. He was scared.
The Parfaedia Institute might’ve been a great school, sure, but that didn’t mean there weren’t bullies and cruel cookies within the school. Prune Juice Cookie had already had his fair share of the bullying experience, for only wanting to learn potion-making and not any of the fancy magic spells. He couldn’t bring himself to say why in the past, but it seemed the competition managed to spill his godforsaken secret.
Prune Juice Cookie had hoped to win the Triple Cone Cup, not because he wanted to brag to his rivals, heck, they weren’t even his rivals anymore. Prune Juice Cookie had never been fond of other cookies. He was like that one cookie in the Vanilla Kingdom. He had overheard professor Espresso Cookie talking about his work partner while collecting the stuff he had left in Parfaedia. What was their name..? Strawberry Crepe Cookie? He had heard him say they preferred robots to cookies. Prune Juice Cookie found himself relating to them. Only instead of robots, he preferred his potions.
But he could make an exception for two cookies: Capsaicin Cookie and Kouign-Aman Cookie.
Those 2 cookies were the other champions of the 2 other schools he had been competing against- Scovillia and the Creme knights. Prune Juice Cookie had originally thought of them differently than he did right now. He thought of Kouign-Aman Cookie as a noble but overconfident Paladin, while he thought Capsaicin Cookie was a hot-headed guy who charged head first into battle.
He never thought he would befriend the two, let alone grow feelings for one of them.
If he hadn’t became friends with them, he would’ve been more upset when he lost. He wasn’t upset at Kouign-Aman Cookie- never at her. But at himself. He should’ve tried harder. He should’ve made more potions. He should’ve been less useless. Sure he had managed to come up with a plan once or twice without his potions, but that was common knowledge. He wen’t back to the Parfaedian Institute, awaiting his fate.

Prune Juice Cookie woke up to the sound of his alarm on his phone going off VERY. LOUDLY. He didn’t remember setting the volume that loud.
He rolled over to face his bedside table, reaching for his phone with shaky hands. It flopped around for a few moments before finally grasping his phone and pulling it towards him.
6:30AM
…This is going to be a rough first day back at school.
Prune Juice Cookie could admit he missed the sickeningly sweet scent of his dorm, a mix of plums and all the random ingredients he always threw into his mixtures of dozens of potions. He missed the lavish purple walls with markings engraved into it, the ones he always subconsciously let his fingers run through. Sometimes he didn’t even realise he was doing it until he caught his finger on a splinter in the ancient wood.
He hauled himself off the queen sized bed, stretching as his long, unkempt hair cascaded down his shoulders to his knees. For once he was wearing some shorts and a short sleeved shirt, his pallid dough showing for a few seconds before his shirt lowered. Prune Juice Cookie was known for overworking himself, often caring more for his potions than himself, as a result, it made his dough paler than its actual colour.
A very short breakfast later and Prune Juice Cookie was getting ready into his casual clothing, a dusty grey cloak, fastened with some sort of plum shaped fastener, another cape that was attached under it, but tinted in a shade of teal, a long, black gown paired with white sleeves and a turtleneck collar, adorned with constellations and patterns eccentric to the sky, and brown leather gloves that in length reach up just past his wrists and close to his elbows. If you had never heard his voice, any cookie would have assumed he was a woman. Prune Juice Cookie had no fashion sense that would’ve been considered normal for his gender. He didn’t follow the fashion norms. All that mattered was that the potion maker was warm and comfortable. Other than that, he genuinely did not give one as to what he looked like. Another normal thing for being autistic.
Prune Juice Cookie gathered up his notes, stained multiple colours from various different potions he had brewed over the past couple of days, and headed out of his dorm, ready but anxious to start the day.

It had only been one day and Prune Juice Cookie didn’t know if he could survive another day.
The second he had been spotted in the hallway, some had given him some NASTY looks. I’m talking glares, death stares, disgust and hatred hidden behind the icing of their eyes.
“O-okay Prune Juice Cookie..they’re all looking at you, but it’s fine.. A loss isn’t a big deal, is it? Surely not.. The students of the Parfaedian Institute can’t be that sour over a friendly competition with 3 schools.” Prune Juice Cookie thought to himself. His self-esteem was low enough, he didn’t need an angry mob of excelling Parfaedian students harassing him for a simple loss over an annual event.
If they thought it was so easy to win, why don’t they try and relive their bad memories? That trial had to have been cruel if even Capsaicin Cookie had burnt his hall of mirrors down.
The next thing Prune Juice Cookie knew, he felt himself getting pinned into a couple of lockers, the locks on them digging into his back, forcing him to let out a soft grunt.
“That Could’ve been such an easy win, Prune Juice Cookie! But you had to screw us over with your stupid clumsiness. No wonder you don’t take magic classes, your dough is too frail amd weak to even withhold magic inside of you! What are you even doing here at a magic school? It’s a MAGIC school, not a school for Prune Juice Cookie.”
Prune Juice Cookie glanced up, his gaze setting on the guy who had him pinned. He was one of those cookies. Sassy, arrogant, bratty, but the ‘teacher's pet’ in classes. Prune Juice Cookie was also a teacher’s pet, but at least he was polite and sassy, not.. Bratty.
“I can still attend and not do magic, y’know. This is the best school in Parfaedia for potions and-”
“Blah Blah Blah, sorry what was that?”
“How have you not been caught yet? Are you a bully in general or just one to mess around with me?”
There was silence for a few moments, until the guy broke eye contact with Prune Juice Cookie and turned to face behind him.
“Hurry up, Lemon Cake Cookie! Let’s get his potions already and scram!”
Prune Juice Cookie started to panic. They were going through his bag, his locker. Taking his notes and some of his potions, specifically the ‘it’s not.. Alive!’ potion. He wasted so much time making them, only to not get paid anything? Let alone a fair amount? Unacceptable!
“N-NO! GET OFF THEM YOU MORON’S! YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT THEIR PURPOSES EVEN ARE, OR WHAT THEY DO!” Prune Juice Cookie screamed.
The guy just snickered, two other’s coming up behind him. One of them was holding his notes, the other was holding his potions.
“.. too bad, thanks nerd for the free revision!”
And like that, the three darted off, knowing Prune might not be able to run, or he could, but not for long.
Could this day get any worse?
Yes, apparently. Yes it could.

1:30PM
Prune Juice Cookie found himself in the medical wing with a pounding headache, some burn marks, and a stupid ice pack. He was holding it over his eye while one of the healers tried to pry him out of getting the answer as to why this had happened.
“You want me to explain? Fine. But it’s stupid though..”
Prune Juice Cookie had not been in a good mood since he had been pinned up against the lockers. His wrists were already starting to bruise, thank god his gloves covered it..
He was hoping his potions were being used to actually help someone, and not to use for some stupid prank on some innocent new student who knew no better. It was 4th period, second to last class of the day, and Prune Juice Cookie had only just entered the room when he saw them. That stupid goddamn trio. They still had his notes and potions, but the notes looked crumpled, having a lot of lines and wrinkles in the parchment, and some of his potions were missing..
Regardless, he knew he wasn’t getting them back, so Prune Juice Cookie sat on the seat farthest away from them and got out the remainder of his notes that had survived the raid of his belongings. Thank god it was potions class, he could make replica’s of the potions he had made the night before as replacement. He needed a lot of potions, he always needed them. You never know what may happen at any given moment. It had helped him in the Triple Cone Cup, so surely against a couple of lame bullies, right?
Prune Juice Cookie had been keeping a close eye on the three all lesson. It was unlike him to change his plans so suddenly and not pay attention to his interest, he normally yelled at anyone who suddenly changed plans because he had a need to know what was coming up. That was the one thing that bugged him about the Triple Cone Cup, he was never told what had been coming for him during the day. Another reason why he needed every potion at all times.
The professor had momentarily left the room since there was a small accident in another classroom, specifically professor Latte’s room. Apparently she had accidentally taught one of her students more magic than she had intended to, and now it had become a problem.
Regardless, there was a bunch of unsupervised students in a classroom filled with potions. Prune Juice Cookie saw Lemon Cake Cookie pull out one of his potions from under her table, handing it to the guy she was with. He looked back at Prune Juice Cookie and grinned wickedly. He looked a bit insane.
“Prune Juice Cookie! Let's see how effective your potions really are!”
Prune Juice Cookie quickly stood up and almost ran over to him, planning to snatch it back before he could pop the cork off.
He was so close when..
POP
BOOM.
⁺˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚⁺‧͙⁺˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚⁺‧͙⁺˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚⁺‧͙
Prune Juice Cookie finished explaining his story to the healer, who only patted his head. His hat was off so they ruffled his sort of frizzy hair.
“Hm.. okay. I’ll ask you more about it later, Prune Juice Cookie. The burns aren’t too serious, but i suggest that you keep your potion’s out of reach from those type of cookies? I’m not sure if you’re in trouble. But just know.. Not the whole school hates you for losing. It’s mostly just the competitive ones. They’re just jealous you got to be the representative of our school and not them.”
“Yeah.. whatever you say, Miss.”
Prune Juice Cookie was left to his own thoughts as the healer left, drawing the curtain to let him rest for a while. He sighed and leaned back, withdrawing the ice pack from his eye.
“Great, just great..ugh.. I wonder how Capsaicin Cookie and Kouign-Aman Cookie are doing after the Triple Cone Cup.. hopefully better than me.. At least their classmates aren’t sore losers..”
