Second’s fins swayed gently in the current, the peaceful silence broken only by the rumbling of the water around them. His claws gripped harshly on his map, the rock slab rubbing harshly against the tender skin on his palms. They barely dared to breathe, green eyes wide as he stared beyond at the ocean ground.
A part of him sparked with the excitement of discovery, another filled with smugness at the thought of the other’s possible reactions to their discovery. Either way, he felt accomplished.
Because there shining below him, crumpled but beautiful nonetheless, was the lost city of Atlantis.
