15-year old magical girl Aika, 16-year old high school loser Zira. They've been best friends ever since they hit it off on Aika's first day of School McSchool Memorial School & things haven't been better for the 2 of them in Averagetown! Right now, Zira was busy showing Aika around Averagetown to see all the cool things they have to offer like arcades, stores in the mall, those delicious Yetzel's Pretzels in the mall that Zira really likes, movies & other stuff as well.
But there was 1 problem - Zira couldn't focus on any of this because she was hiding a H secret from the person she was walking with to the next arcade game right now.
She had a secret crush on Aika.
Even though it's only been 3 days since they've first met, Zira couldn't help but be romantically attracted to her one friend that liked her for who she was. Zira knew that even though this felt so right that unfortunately, deep down, it was so wrong. As much as she liked the feeling of being lovestruck with her first best friend, she couldn't help but think that things would get weird between the 2 of them if Zira told Aika her true feelings about her. So as you can see - Zira was tangled between an ongoing knot forming in her stomach. What is a girl to do with all these feelings?
As Zira was guiding Aika to the next arcade game in the Super Arcade Store, Aika had stopped upon a claws machine with eyes glowing & hair flowing beautifully behind her neck. Of course, that's what Zira noticed anyways. She couldn't help but be flustered by how cute Aika was looking at all these different things she's never experienced before due to being a magical girl 2/3rds of her life. Zira felt bad in a way, but more or less happy that she was the one being able to show her all these cool contraptions once & for all.
Aika, being the curious bean that she was, obviously asked Zira if they could play the claw machine in the first place.
"Oooh!" Aika beamed. "What does this game do?" She asked Zira.
"Uhhh, well, it's simple. You just control the claw with the buttons down there & try to get a stuffed animals by using the claw to grab it- but with how rigged these claw machines usually are, you'll probably end up with...nothing" Zira said sadly with a blank expression.
"Oh...Can we try anyways?!" Aika said, still beaming.
Zira blushed at her reaction, not being able to help how cute she was as she tried to shake the thoughts of loving her first beset friend away from her lovebound mind.
"Ehhhhh, sure if you really want to" Zira said, shrugging.
"Yay!" Aika said happily.
Zira put one of the coins in the bag she was carrying around in the machine & guided Aika what to do, but after about 3 tries of no luck, Zira was ready to give up. Until eventually, on the 4th try, Aika had somehow got a cat plushie from the machine. Zira was evidently confused at how she did the impossible.
"Wha-How in the world did you do that?!" Zira said, shocked at the revelation.
"I don't know." Aika said, smugly shrugging. "I guess I just got lucky, hehe" Aika laughed.
"Well, I hope you like your plushie then" Zira said. "Too bad I didn't get one" Zira said sadly.
"It's alright. This plushie can be both of ours!" Aika said, cheerfully.
"Oh. I mean, sure, but you won it, Aika. You can have it if you want" Zira said matter-of-factidly.
"Awwwww, thanks, Zee! I love how squishy it looks!" Aika said as she squished the cat plushie's face in a goofy way.
For some reason, Aika calling Zira "Zee" just made Zira love her even more.
As they explored the rest of the Super Arcade Store, Aika had somehow won a bunch of other tokens & prizes & ended up walking out the stores with a cat plushie, 2 love heart bracelets & a bouncy ball. Zira, on the other hand, had unfortunately won nothing. Poor Zira :(((
"Here, Zira. For showing me around today, you can have my other love hearts braclet - so that way, we're both matching!" Aika said, still cheerful from the events of the day as she gave Zira the other love hearts braclet as gratitude for showing her around today.
"Oh, thanks. You didn't have to do that, you know" Zira said back to Aika.
"I know, but you deserve it for being such a good friend to me" Aika said.
Zira rubbed her arm shyly as she said nothing back, too focused on how nice Aika was being to her & how much she wanted to hug her right now & tell her how pretty she was & how she wants nothing else but to kiss her in the-
"So where should we go now?" Aika asked Zira, interrupting her makeshift fantasy with Aika.
"Uhhhhh...." Zira mumbled, caught off-guard. "I don't know. Do you wanna watch a movie?" Zira asked Aika. "I think we barely have enough money to buy us tickets & snacks"
"Sure! What movie should we watch?" Aika asked Zira again.
"Mmmmmm, there's this new romance comedy movie called "Loving You Is Hard". I've kinda wanted to watch it for a while. Is that movie ok with you?" Zira asked Aika.
"Sure!" Aika said, happily. "Quick, let's go before the movie starts!" Aika said as she quickly grabbed Aika's hand & pulled her towards the movie theater - in which ended up leading them to the perfume store. Rolling her eyes playfully, Zira guided Aika to the ACTUAL movie theaters at a brisk pace & orfered tickets & snacks for the movie they were gonna watch. As bitchy as America is, it cost $77 in total.
As they both got ready to enter the movie theaters, besides walking past a magical girl movie in which Aika responded with an "Ugh, do we really need a movie of THAT?!", Zira suddenly felt butterflies in her stomach, knowing that the movie they were watching she probably only chose because it reminded her of Aika. Hopefully, Aika didn't notice that.
"Alright, you ready?" Zira said as they stood at the door of the movie theather.
"Ready whenever you are, Zee!" Aika said as she unintenonlly squeezed Zira's hand before letting go abruptly.
"Oh, uhhhh ok, let's go then" Zira said as they both walked into the movie theather.
This girl was gonna be the death of Zira, one way or another.
